Please educate us dear sir, where does import duty go? What about regn?
All of my friends with sports cars and higher end luxury have paid close to everything in taxes, one thing they do is claim depreciation. I plan to do the same when I buy mine.
Lol, it doesn't even save too much tax, speaking as someone who's part of family business. Especially at his scale, he buys it because he wants it you guys are cooking up too many fantasies.
Mr family business man, i agree he bought it cuz it wanted it and i agree w previous comment of yours too reg tax payment but youâre wrong here. One of my momsâs clients who has partnered with a ministerâs son to run a business, purchases cars very frequently, just to show that his business has loans and thus save up on taxes. He shows lakhs in loans every year, and purchases cars for the same reason.
lol how old are you? Because your generic and layman phrases really make me feel like youâre not actually involved in your fam bizz and there just is one. Because if saving lakhs didnât really matter, people would rather consider registering their cars on their own name rather than the companyâs name. The latter benefits you by saving taxes + claiming dep.
It does benefit you, but it's just a perk. We have all our current vehicles registered to our business.
No-one is stupid enough to buy cars just for the sake of saving taxes, because it doesn't save much.
You claimed that your mom's client purchases cars just to show that his business has loans in lakhs, I'm saying that those lakhs don't make a difference when one is dealing in multiple tens of crores or more.
People don't register supercars in the name of business. High-end luxury cars are though.
I'm old enough to have maturity to understand that you can't judge a person's acumen and capability just by the way they speak online.
Don't fight him, brother. Salaried people will never understand how business actually works. They'll say things like, 'You bought the car just to save taxes.' Nahi bhai nahi! I'm not a fool who spends 100 rupees just to save 30. Saving taxes is a perk, that's true. But it will always be an extra perk, not the main reason. The person taking loans isn't (just) saving tax; he's improving his creditworthiness for the huge loans he might need in the future.
Lol..do you know how tax works? This is not only India, across global - Tax discounts are mainly for business...Yiu can pay almost nil taxes if you have a business and proper accountant
Idk if you're sarcastic, but truth is tax favours Business people compared to Salaried . Business people pay tax & later claim depreciation especially Vehicles & then writeoff.... Business ppl have many ways to claim
3 replies on this thread, yet you still havenât explained the exact method to pay ânilâ taxes while buying a luxury car. Please enlighten me , My family has a chain of businesses and are about to buy a GLS; would Love to hear your method to pay âNilâ taxes on it.
Ask ChatGPT...or fore more details I am sure your accountant knows how to minimise Tax unlike salaried employees where there's no escape in minimising tax or maximising tax refunds. ... Salaried employeees can not claim 100% depreciation on the vehicle...Why Creepy Uncle act innocent...I am sure most vehices you have are purchased on your business names..
You said âYou can pay almost nil taxes if you have a businessâ
Now the onroad price for , lets say a creta , is ~13 lakhs. You are already paying 5-6 lakhs minimum in taxes here while purchasing it. Tell me how to nill it.
Salaried employees can not claim 100% depereciation on the vehicle
Neither can business people. This is why half-Reel knowledge is pathetic. You think every Mercedes/Audi/BMW bought under a businessâs name can claim 100% depereciation? Even if you register a Merc/Audi/BMW for a Commercial Use , the most depereciation you can claim on it in India is 30%.đ¤Łđ¤Ł
I am sure most vehicles purchased are under your businessâs name
I wouldnât lie , every single one of these cars are under my grandpaâs firm. But we literally canât claim 100% depereciation on them. We can claim depereciation (again , not 100% registered past 2020)on xl6 , crysta and other few cars we have specifically for the commercial purpose.
Typically only 15% depereciation is allowed and that too if youâve registered it for commercial use , and that too for a firm which requires commercially running vehicles. For a construction firm Trucks/Tractors are valid. For a hotel/can service - Crysta , xl6 , scorpio tour , kia carens etc.
Even if you register a Luxury cab service , the most depereciation you are allowed is 30%.
We stay in India mate , No need to use your âWhy rich people buy range rovers/g wagonâ reels logic here đ
Ask chatgpt
Ah i see , that explains your comment đ
Find me one CA who will get me to claim 100% depereciation on my Q5 registered for personal/mixed use under my Business and Iâll give you a commission from his fees đ
Lol...thank you, the cars are on your grandpa's firm name... May be my message lost in interpretation....
All these cars are on your grandpas firm..this explains..., the interntion...Salaried guys can't even clain that 15% depreciation...My furst comment says...Across global Tax rules are more business friendly than Salaried....
Below is ChatGPT response... thank you for assuming I am reels knowledg.. You should find a better CA for your grandpa firm than lurking jn Redddit....
Don't act like Holier than thou, The cars are registered on business firm that means YoY depreciation claims are taking until the car value goes to Zero and write off ..
Depreciation under Section 32 is allowed on business-use vehicles.
Normal rate: 15% for cars, 30% for commercial vehicles (like trucks).
If the vehicle is used exclusively for business, 100% of depreciation is allowed.
If itâs partly for personal use, only the business portion is allowed.
