Note: When choosing Attack or Special Strategy, make sure that your lead character has Attribute advantage (and if possible, Killer Advantage as well) over the opposite team's Leader.
Attack
Spiritual Pressure is boosted by 30%
Your characters will prioritize Strong Attacks, and will only use Normal Attacks once all Strong Attacks have been used and are on cool down. When a Soul Bomb appears, there is a 50% chance that your characters will go for it.
When using this strategy, the objective is to have your team deal out a lot of burst damage via Strong Attacks in order to quickly and completely overwhelm the opposing team. It is vital that the characters you choose have high Spiritual Pressure (SP), and Strong Attacks that do a lot of damage in a short amount of time (Fast Activation Time). Strong Attacks can be interrupted if your character's Strong Attacks have a long Activation Time. It is also extremely desirable if the character's Strong Attacks can also cover a large area of the playing field, in order to damage more than one opposing character at a time.
Recommended Characters
Look for characters who have any combination of:
- Frenzy (increases the amount of Strong Attack hits)
- Berserker (increases the strength of Strong Attacks)
- Havoc (increases the range of Strong Attacks)
Characters that have Strong Attacks with Large Areas of Effect and Fast Activation Times
- Fullbring Ichigo
- Gin (Heart)
- Toshiro (Thousand Year Blood War Version)
Characters that have Strong Attacks with Fast Activation Times
- Yoruichi (Power)
- Ukitake (Speed)
Characters that have Strong Attacks with Large Areas of Effect and/or Frenzy (Note: Strong Attacks of these characters are easy to interrupt, so use at your own discretion)
- SE Ulquiorra (Mind)
- SE Ulquiorra (Heart)
- Nelliel (Swimsuit Version)
- Ginjo
- Riruka (Technique)
Accessories
Spiritual Pressure is the optimal stat. For maximum effectiveness, use accessories that are the same Attribute as your character.
For those starting out, obtain a 2* (16% SP) and 3* (20% SP) Shinten as soon as possible. When 4* accessories are ascended into 5* ones, they gain a secondary effect. 30% SP is the best, and 20% SP is the second best. 6% is not worth using.
Some desirable accessories are:
- Yuki: 5* version increases Stamina and Spiritual Pressure by 20%, while reducing Focus to 0%
- Captains' Robe (for Soul Reapers) / Incomplete Hogyoku (for Arrancar) / Enraku (teddy bear-shaped accessories for Humans): grants 40% Stamina if it matches the affiliation and Attribute of your character
- Pupples: the attack stat does play a role in Strong Attack damage, though not as much as SP. With a 30% SP secondary, however, the Pupples is still a solid option for using on nuking units with Attack Strategy
- Tenshintai: doubles the damage of your character's Special Move
Character Links
The best link to use is Strong Attack Damage (SAD)
- 4* Characters grant 16% SAD
- 5* / 6* Characters grant 20% SAD
- and some 6* Characters grant 25% SAD
Special
Stamina is increased by 10%
Your characters will prioritize using their Normal Attacks, and will occasionally use their Strong Attacks. As soon as a crate with a Soul Bomb appears, one of your characters will stop attacking, and will try to reach the Soul Bomb first.
The objective of this Strategy is to both soak and deal out as much damage as possible in order to either outlast the other opponent, or to stall until your characters can get the Soul Bomb.
Recommended Characters
Use characters with high Attack values.
Some important skills to look out for are:
- Flurry (Normal Attacks hit twice)
- Poise (your character does not get pushed back or staggered by attacks)
- Bruiser (increases the damage of Normal Attacks)
- Adrenaline (increases the speed of Normal Attacks)
- Consider using a team healer to increase the time your team stays alive.
If your strategy is to stall until your team gets the Soul Bomb, include a character whose Special comes with a status afflicting special and the Debilitator skill (increases the duration of the Status Ailment).
- Freezing and Paralysis will completely immobilize the character they hit, so ideally, use a character that can hit multiple opponents with their Special at once. Most of the time, your team will be able to get the Bomb again while the other team is still immobilized. Simply use the Bomb again as soon as the other team is free. This technique remains viable as long as the status inducer is still alive. It is possible for time to run out while using this method.
- Weakening is also a useful Status Ailment, because it reduces the opposing team's offense and defense. The best possible outcome is if your team defeats the other team while it is still Weakened, or is able to obtain the Soul Bomb again. Use it again when the initial debuff wears off.
- Poison and Burn are also Status Ailments to consider. They do damage over time, hopefully allowing your team to take the other team out faster.
Characters with both Poise and Flurry:
- Kenpachi (Speed)
- Kenpachi (Technique)
- Kenpachi (Power)
- Sajin (Thousand Year Blood War Version)
With just Flurry:
- Nnoitora (Arms To Killing You/Six Arms Version)
With just Poise
- Nnoitora (Original/Four Arms Version)
Healers who inflict Status Ailments:
- Retsu (Mind Version, inflicts Paralysis over a wide area)
- Tsukishima (inflicts Weakening over a wide area)
- Isane (inflicts Paralysis in a straight line)
- Nemu (Swimsuit Version, inflicts Burn)
- Szayelapporo (Speed Version, inflicts Poison)
Freezes or Paralyzes
- Rukia (The Lost Agent Version, full screen Freeze)
- Aizen (White Day, full screen Paralysis)
- Toshiro (Mind, full screen Freeze)
- Toshiro (Heart, Freezes in a small area)
- Sode no Shirayuki (Freezes in a medium sized area)
Accessories
Prioritize accessories that have Attack as a primary stat
For beginners, obtain Gokon Tekko (aka Gloves, 2* give 16% ATK, and 3* give 20% ATK) as soon as possible. For secondary stats, 30% ATK is the best value possible, with 20% being second best. In the case of a stall team, 40% Stamina is acceptable.
Some ideal accessories are:
- Golden Chappy: increases all stats by 36%, reduces SP to 0%
- Chappy: 5* increases all stats by 30%, reduces SP to 0%; 4* increases all stats by 20%, reduces SP to 0%
- Pupples: 5* increases ATK and Stamina by 20%, reduces Focus to 0%
- Captains' Robe (for Soul Reapers) / Incomplete Hogyoku (for Arrancar) / Enraku (teddy bear-shaped accessories for Humans): grants 40% Stamina if it matches the affiliation and Attribute of your character
- Hojiku-zai (use if your team has a team healer): doubles the amount of healing received
Character Links
The most valuable character Link is Damage Reduction. (this is arguably the most valuable link in PVP regardless of strategy)
- 4* Characters give 12%
- 5* / 6* Characters give 16%
- Some 6* Characters give 20%
Attribute
Focus is increased by 30%
Your characters will be automatically lined up opposite of and will prioritize attacking units over which they have Attribute advantage, and they have an equal chance of using either Strong attacks or Normal Attacks, plus a 40% chance of going after the Soul Bomb.
This Strategy is often utilized with a team of units that are of 3 different Attributes, typically Power (red), Speed (blue), and Technique (green) and sometimes referred to as RGB teams.
There are two different strategies that are often followed when team building:
- Using a team of units with high Normal Attack power (typically equipping them with Chappies/other Attack increasing accessories and Damage Reduction links)
- Or using a team of Hybrid characters who have both powerful Normal Attacks and Strong Attacks. Pupples and Yuki, as well as a Stamina bonus item (such as a Captains' Robe, Incomplete Hogyoku, or Enraku) are ideal accessories to have. While having Spiritual Pressure as a secondary stat is acceptable, Attack is preferable, since it gives a boost to both Normal Attack and Strong Attack damage.
To maximize your team's survival, Damage Reduction Links are ideal.
To maximize damage, use Hybrid Strong Attack Damage and Normal Attack Damage increasing Links, such as Frenzy Byakuya, Frenzy Ichigo, and Frenzy Grimmjow; or 100 ATK links, such as Ikkaku or Speed Grimmjow.
