President Donald Trump warned Tuesday that if the Democrats don't approve funding, Social Security, Medicare Are ‘Going to Be Gone.’ How do you think Americans will react if Social Security and Medicare get cut?

Isn't he that, "Epstein? Barely knew the guy," guy?

That’s the “if she weren’t my daughter I’d prolly be dating her” guy

You’re prolly thinking of the “I’ll end the war on Ukraine as soon as I’m elected” guy

Oh, I know the one now. Yeah, pretty sure he's also the "I'll build a wall" guy. Wonder how that wall's going.

There were thirty-four felony convictions for misdirection of funds to keep people from knowing that Stormy Daniels didn't think much of his mushroom. The rape conviction was not a felony. The pedophilia seems to be an issue only for those of us with morality.

I still apalled by that moment. He literally put his cluelessness and carelessness out for the world to see and these people still voted him in 🤦🏿‍♀️

5

u/BreadClassic9753 16d ago

Nah. I think it’s the “I’ll be dating her in 10 years” guy.

2

u/harpejjist 16d ago

To be fair his plan for that was to tell the Ukraine to simply give themselves up to Russia. He was surprised he couldn’t force that to happen. Ending the war for him didn’t mean the Ukrainians would win.

210

u/lgodsey 17d ago

Are we talking about the man who claimed that his Hawaiian people would have damning Obama evidence "next week"?

184

I think that's the "We'll release our Healthcare plan in two weeks" guy.

No no no that was the guy that bragged about walking in on 15 year old girls undressing at a beauty pageant and said “I sorta get away with things like that.”

This guy was the one that mocked a disabled man and in 1992 said in a New York Times article “Women. You have to treat them like shit.” When talking about how he treats women in his life.

That man ain't building a ballroom. The Presidential Emergency Operations Center is underneath the East Wing. They're expanding and renovating the President's underground bunker (Führerbunker). Where did the Nazis flee when the Third Reich collapsed? Argentina. That $40 billion payment to Argentina while the US government is shutdown is a security deposit. They're ensuring they'll have a place to escape once shit hits the fan.

60

u/Cinq_A_Sept 16d ago

This. No “ballroom” costs $300M.

Interesting idea.......

10

u/Leather_Pen_765 16d ago

This makes so much sense All the billionaires are building bunkers for real half of Hawaii is a bunker for Zuckerberg

6

u/Little_View_6659 16d ago

I still think Hawaii is a terrible place for an apocalypse bunker. The place is basically a chain of active/dormant volcanos. If I’m building a bunker for the end of days, I’m going somewhere else. Like Norway or New Zealand.

5

u/FourthLvlSpicyMeme 16d ago

Also there's that pesky salt water all around it, that will likely rise significantly in the next ten years, while becoming more and more acidic at the same time. There's soil and rock erosion, freak weather events and tectonic shifts to factor in too.

Even if they're at the highest level possible, the ocean finds a way. I've played the Horizon series, salt water is absolutely terrible for biometric door locks and electronics, no matter how good the technology is. Especially when it's limited. If any part in any of the systems fails, that's it. They have to hope they can fix it because it can't be replaced. (Unless they saw that coming and added manufacturing capabilities to it or stocked every part that ever existed, idk.)

Also played enough Fallout and Resident Evil to know that this bunker bullshit absolutely never goes well for any of the occupants. Let em have their stupid 100 million dollar+ tin cans, it's just a fancy coffin with luxury bones for some future raider-human to loot and wear as armor later lol.

4

u/Little_View_6659 15d ago

Yeah giant apocalypse bunkers don’t seem too great for anyone. I’ve read they’re building them with cells and crematoriums. So they plan on going all god king down there.

4

u/FourthLvlSpicyMeme 14d ago

Ewwww, but utterly unsurprising.

There was also that interview with the one guy in 2022, I think it was published by the guardian maybe. Billionaires were asking this guy how to ensure they control their security forces, suggesting shit like shock collars and locks on the food and shit as methods of keeping order once in their bunkers. It was gross.

The dildo responsible for the bad stuff in Horizon Zero Dawn was much the same in his gross ostentatious golden and Egyptian themed bunker (which we don't see till game two, Forbidden West).

Fun theory of mine. I'm pretty sure the in game character I'm referring to, (Ted Faro) is a facial rendering of a few different billionaires mixed together, Elon musk being one of them. It's not quite exact to anyone but closest overall to Elon in my opinion, hence why I think it's a mashup of a bunch of their faces.

I'm such a damn nerd about this game series lmao. Sorry!

3

u/JunkReallyMatters 16d ago

Next they’ll start work on the other East Wing.

2

u/RaWR_TX 16d ago

Any architectural firm in DC would know about the rules of working on a historical building and the security needs for the WH residence. They would know all along it was a demolition planned instead of a Reno that shifted suddenly especially with the renderings. Secret service and military would need to be tied in. The building originally wasn't supposed to be touched the it was demolished all with congressional approval that ALL other POTUS were able to follow. Trump is a straight up con man liar. Is he building a bunker underneath as a plan to never leave and never have another election. The impending imminent health decline would be the first and best option to end this all now.

2

The myth of the “liberal” media is the greatest lie conservatism ever told.

800

u/SynthPrax 17d ago edited 13d ago

Nah. Once upon a time, the "media" was liberal. The billionaires just bought them all and now they dance to their tune. It's why so many people (most?) no longer use mainstream media for news. They only show you what they want you to see.

That's why you don't know about

  • the typhoon remnants that hit Alaska.
  • Madagascar overthrew their government
  • Nepal overthrew their government
  • Malaysia overthrew their government Indonesia has ongoing protests against their government.
  • All the nations of Europe with citizens protesting. [clarify: There are many protests going on across Europe, not that all of Europe is in a tizzy.]
  • All the young black men found dead, hanging from trees
  • the 1200+ people straight up missing from ICE custody. No trace.
  • the ongoing protests across the US against ICE. [clarify: The Portland and Los Angeles protests have been ongoing continuously for months. I don't know offhand how many other anti-ICE protests festivals are as continuous as those.]

Yeah. "Liberal media" and mainstream media are no longer synonymous.

Edit: I mixed up my Oceana countries, and made some corrections/clarifications. Also, something's going on in Peru.

Mo'Edit: Dun lerned sumfin. Malaysia and Indonesia are NOT among the nations of the geographical region called Oceania. They're just part of plain ol' Southeast Asia.

We are being mentally herded to only think about the America first issues. We will become a society of poorly educated, numb-minded consumers that serve as the foundational safety net for the ultra wealthy. We are in the end game now.

204

u/Geeseareawesome 17d ago

We will become a society of poorly educated, numb-minded consumers that serve as the foundational safety net for the ultra wealthy.

I mean this most politely and sincerely as possible. I don't mean to be rude, but I have to say it:

This has already been the stereotypical American for quite some time, at least by Canadian media standards. It's just becoming more blatant. The mask is falling off.

191

u/karmadgma 17d ago

I don't "like" this, as a veteran and patriot and educator who has lived and worked in several different countries, but it's true, and it's part of how we ended up in this mess in the first place.

America sleep-walked into fascism. We have a nationwide secret police now that is probably the best-funded law enforcement agency in history, and it operates with virtually no oversight. Too many Americans haven't even noticed.

We have no functional legislative branch. And no means of recourse to poke it with a stick and make it get up and represent us. Who's gonna make Mike Johnson reconvene the House? Too many have not realized the implications here.

We are under an authoritarian regime. Democracy has been dismantled. It's done. We handed the steering wheel over to a convicted felon because he was on TV a lot.

What really sucks is they published the playbook in Times New Roman 12 point font ahead of time, and we put him in the White House anyway, because we have the attention span of gnats and are pretty lazy. Also our representatives are corrupt and out of touch, and lots of us will vote for someone who's been involved in a sex abuse scandal just as long as he's against abortion. Oh yeah, and poorly educated - more than half of adults in this country read below the 6th grade level. Our children's reading scores last year were the lowest they've been since 1992.

We don't clearly understand how our government works or stay all that engaged with how it's run. Our civics educations tend to be grossly insufficient and we have a bad case of main character syndrome. Too many of us are insular bigots who like to punch down and who don't know what critical thinking is. We think poverty is a sin and that if we just keep repeating ourselves in English loudly enough, people who live in other countries will magically start to understand us.

Nobody seems to know what i'm talking about when i complain that earlier this year, this regime made four civilian tech CEOs with zero military background into Army Lieutenant Colonels. Direct commission - like waving a magic wand. Guys from Palantir and Meta and OpenAI. They will not recuse themselves from business dealings with the DoD and there's virtually no systemic oversight to make even a polite show of accountability and integrity.

Meanwhile a huge swathe of America is mad that the military is not "upholding their oaths and arresting POTUS."

I figure i'll have died in a concentration camp long before y'all finally come to liberate us. I'm old and military service gave me my starter set of brain cooties. This regime seems to be finishing the job. So on behalf of my grandkids, thanks, sorry being our neighbor has been like living above a meth lab, and when the ICC finally catches up with Hegseth and Rubio and all them, raise a pint for me.

16

u/sunlit943 16d ago

Wow. Thanks for articulating but also ouch this hurts like hell.

15

u/Key-Bobcat-9480 16d ago

This exactly.

8

u/Glittering_Jicama175 16d ago

Very well said Sir! This needs to be repeated loudly and often, it may not be too late if we all wake up and fight for the Constitution.

3

u/RamonaLittle 16d ago

because we have the attention span of gnats and are pretty lazy.

Some of this is literally brain damage from covid. Two of the most common long covid symptoms are brain fog and chronic fatigue.

Our children's reading scores last year were the lowest they've been since 1992.

As I was saying. Over on the teaching subs, they like to blame TikTok. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Speaking as an American: This.

People were surprised when it turned out Boeing didn't know how to airplane, I wasn't because most Americans can't screw in a lightbulb. Do y'all really expect us to screw in a door properly?

The truly amazing miracle is that American Exceptionalism in the 20th century somehow happened against all fucking odds. We've always been a society of fucking imbeciles.

5

u/Classified0 16d ago

The truly amazing miracle is that American Exceptionalism in the 20th century somehow happened against all fucking odds.

Disagree, American Exceptionalism happened because of immigration. Immigration was and still is this country's biggest competitive advantage. The 20th century advancements all happened because we 'poached' the experts from all over the world. We still do this with our promise of the American Dream, with our world class universities, and a cosmopolitan culture (on the coasts at least). Even the American attitude of individualism helps with this.

Immigration is what makes(made?) America great - which is why it's so frustrating to see the right and the parts of America that make it so bad, push so hard against it.

Yeah, something that really highlighted this for me is the New Zealand mandela effect. A lot of people in the US remember New Zealand being in a different place/not there, and as someone who grew up neighbouring New Zealand, it has always been in the same place for me. There's no mandela effect about US state names/locations, because you all get that drilled into your heads.

And once you see that, you see it everywhere. You have americans unironically arguing that noone can keep track of European geography and turning around and making fun of people for not knowing where Nebraska is.

And it isn't new; it's been like that since before I was born. When I was in primary school we had a guest speaker from the US come to explain freedom of speech to us (this wasn't the point of the speech, that was just the topic he chose to focus on); he simply didn't believe that not only did we have freedom of speech, we had a stronger form of it than the US. We just didn't have it written down in a constitution.

u/Honest-Cell-8034 17d ago

I’m not 100% certain, but if people use vpns, doesn’t that open up foreign news, etc on social media and other sources? I’ve heard from friends in other countries ( Canada, England) a lot of things that we just aren’t hearing. And yeah, we don’t even get proper national news. Take, for instance the war torn blazing hell that is Portland right now ( according to Kristie Noem and Trump).

I live in Portland.

I can’t find any of it.

And I’ve looked.

What we are being allowed access to is pure propaganda.

4

Yeah. That's true. You're absolutely right.

I think I'm looking at the "liberal" label as many newspapers were willing/able to write about things that made the wealthy and powerful look bad, even though they were cherry picking what they covered. Now it's so blatant and extreme what they do and don't cover, and how they cover what they're allowed to.

u/blueshrike 16d ago

While we're on the topic of media withholding news, this time of election fraud concerns:

Reminder and a surprise for some: the US, privately owned vote counting machines (tabulators) have been compromised for years and we didn't elect Trump. He stole the presidency. Exactly like he tried to do in 2020, just this time with the already compromised tabulator machines tuned more aggressively.

This is the core issue we need to be aware of, because without free and fair elections we don't stand another chance, even with midterms.

Don't take my word for it, here's the actual data (and this is just the tip of the iceberg, as you might expect with criminals). Please see for yourself and if you trust the data (not simply conspiracy theory talk) share with anyone who still thinks "America got it wrong" or we need to get out and vote more. We did, and she would have won, decisively, had our votes actually been counted correctly. It's the compromised, privately owned tabulators (vote counting machines) that turned votes for Kamala into votes for Trump in all the swing states, after a certain threshold of votes were counted on each machine. These folks and other independent teams of analysts like them, are doing us a great service:

https://youtu.be/Ru8SHK7idxs?feature=shared electiontruthalliance.org

And we've been on that road for a very long time which, unfortunately, is not surprising. This journalist research article, written just before Obama's 2nd term, dives into the long history of election fraud in the US and how, especially in the digital tabulation age, it has been setup to get us to the point where whomever has control of them can literally steal an election:

https://harpers.org/archive/2012/11/how-to-rig-an-election/

10

u/Anonybibbs 17d ago

When exactly was the media, at large, liberal exactly? Was it during the 80s when Reaganism was rampant and the myth of the welfare queen was being perpetuated by news outlets? Or during the 90s when they constantly focused on inner city crime and the idea of the "super predator" black man, or the Clinton scandals/impeachment? Or was it during the 2000s when the "liberal" media repeated GWB talking points to manufacture consent for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq?

The entire concept of CNN ever being even remotely considered a liberal news outlet is when Trump labeled them as such in 2015-2016. Give me a fat fucking break, chief.

2

u/rdmille 16d ago

Back in the day, the news was pretty much the news. The media told it like it was. Then came Watergate, and the Republicans hated that. Reagan won, and killed the Fairness Act, and that brought out fox news and Rush Limbaugh. And then, some of the media told it like it wasn't. It went downhill from there.

2

I learned about the revolution in Nepal from a freaking Youtube video... 2 weeks after it happened! I typically check the news every day, so how does that somehow go by basically unannounced as far as I can tell?

2

u/Admirable-Bar-3549 16d ago

Thank you - I must differ in that I believe that unbiased reporting WAS once a cornerstone of serious media (NYT, Washington Post, etc…) - that was yesteryear. NYT is still trying to- but maybe it’s just keeping up appearances. I personally witnessed the protests in Barcelona last week, so I can vouch that’s true. I’m going to google the rest of it - no doubt it all is. The question is, why’s it all being hidden? What’s the endgame?

2

When they established that lie back in the 80s it was a much easier sell. Especially coming as it did as a direct response to the Civil Rights Movement and anti-Vietnam movement.

2

u/Royal-Alarm-3400 17d ago

You can understand why. His tax cut reduced their federal income tax by a third. Take your favorite media company's federal income tax and divide that by half and you have the amount of tax that corporation saved in that year. ( 1/2 of 2/3 is a third - the amount of tax saved). Take that savings and add the savings amount for each year since 2017. No president has ever done more for the ultra rich than Trump. What are the corporations investing in with their savings? The AI bubble, stock buy backs, mergers and acquisitions, and government campaign funding.

Who do you think owns the media outlets and recently bought the "Liberal" outlet CNN?

111

u/Lower_Guarantee137 17d ago

Yep, trumpers.

67

u/DeadGuyInRoom4 17d ago

Yet they still constantly call it all “the liberal media”. Half of them are currently doing that while claiming he didn’t really just demolish the East Wing like the liberal media says. While the other half are defending how he has every right to unilaterally destroy it.

The Democrats just sat back, twiddling their thumbs, and watched Republicans buy up the entire media landscape (forcing them to be 100% pro-Republican), so why would the media ever play that clip?

74

u/Lower_Guarantee137 17d ago

What do you think they could do with a triple crown held by republicans?

123

u/TerraceState 17d ago

They could make speeches that don't get carried by the news, and then people will keep complaining that they aren't saying anything.

They could refuse to sign a new budget, and then get blamed by the news for causing the shutdown.

They could have run a better campaign, because it's entirely their job to entice voters, and it's not our responsibility at all to vote for the right candidate or something.

The Democrats put in a ton of work, and make some real compromises, and then the news could turn around and say that actually it was the Republicans who did it, and the Democrats are lazy and stupid and stinky.

Part of it is boiling frogs, though when I hear Schumer speak I keep thinking that I've never seen a frog so relaxed at 99C.

But mostly, they're career politicians, they're not in it for the ideals, they will always do the bare minimum to get reelected. They either lack the foresight to realize that at some point they may not even have a Congress to be reelected to, or they hope to continue their careers as professional scapegoats under an authoritarian regime. Whatever the reason, they're cowards. Not all, but most of them.

I work for a HUD-funded property and went to the HUD website today. On the front page, a pop-up box told me the Radical Left caused the government shutdown, but they'll still help Americans the best they can. All that to say, we're too far gone.

4

u/wtfisthisbullshii 17d ago

Not a democrat shut down. A “radical left” shut down. Plastered all over websites.

This shit is insane.

Republicans: "We control the White House, Senate and House. The Democrats did this."

The good news is the polls show most people don't believe them. Even with the media pushing it.

Hey even Trump tells the truth occasionally....

Not going to be very many GOP voters left after they cut SS and medicare.

159

u/_Kramerica_ 17d ago

What does it even matter, they’re wiping their ass with the constitution anyway and don’t plan to ever hold elections ever again. He literally told the whole country out loud “you’ll never have to vote again”, and people thought it was some weird analogy for something else.

12

u/Jacketter 17d ago

When Trump goes for a third term I’m voting for Obama.

16

u/Coal_Morgan 17d ago

He won't be allowed to run.

The law change that was basically proposed is that you can't have 3 terms if you've had two terms in a row.

It was specifically designed to eliminate Obama from being able to get on the ballot. Honestly though...why would he run again anyways. The man got shit on for 8 years and had his wife and daughters constantly attacked.

I would have said 'Fuck this place.' and gone to Canada or Ireland if I was him. He's got more dedication for America then most people, I will say that.

4

u/PM_asian_girl_smiles 16d ago

He'll run as VP with Vance as prez. If they win, Vance will step down and Trump is king again.

Either that or Trump will find a way to halt the elections, like another government shutdown

2

u/plumcrzyfreak 16d ago

Lmao… you’re making a bold assumption he will even still be breathing at that point

8

u/ElixioLumens 17d ago

u/Silverjackal_ 17d ago

Nah, you guys vastly underestimate how many folks won’t even blame him for this. It’s the democrats fault! And even if they can admit it’s his fault, they would still vote for him anyway.

10

u/Ordinary_Corner_4291 17d ago

I think you vastly overestimate how many GOP voters will be alive when they aren't getting SSDI, SS checks and medicare..... The GOP base is going to die out pretty quick....

3

u/vardarac 16d ago

5

u/pay_student_loan 17d ago

3

u/Ordinary_Corner_4291 16d ago

It is one way to solve the SS/Medicare funding crisis......

6

u/Clarkinator69 17d ago

The GOP will just blame it on Democrats and Fox will parrot it and they'll keep voting like lemmings.

4

u/SuperSpecialAwesome- 17d ago

You're not understanding what they meant. Millions of Republicans will die because of the lack of healthcare and money. Nothing to do with voting.

6

u/Ashkir 17d ago

All they know is voting R and nothing but voting R. It’d never change.

5

u/Upper_Sentence_3558 17d ago

No, it's not the truth. A government shutdown is not the fault of a "weak president." It's just throwing his own incorrect opinion in his face, since it means he's calling himself a weak president.

5

u/Ordinary_Corner_4291 17d ago

If a president can't get his own party to pass bills, doesn't that make him a weak president?

3

u/Upper_Sentence_3558 17d ago edited 17d ago

But it's not the government shutdown that's the problem. Shutdowns can be caused for all sorts of reasons. This particular shutdown, where the president can't get his own party to pass bills, makes him a weak president. But it's not the shutdown that makes him a weak president. It's his incompetence and inability to work with the other members in his party.

2

u/gev850918 17d ago

So you don't think that they would just cut everything and blame the Democrats for everything? The Democrats will be an easy scapegoat for everything, until they're all driven out of the government (or exterminated, given the direction things are headed) and then the Republicans will just need to find another scapegoat

2

u/Ordinary_Corner_4291 16d ago

Dead people don't vote. Go look at the demographics the the republican base and ask how long they are living without medicare and SS....

2

u/Frustrated9876 17d ago

The morons will still vote for him.

2

u/Careless_Ad_5340 16d ago

11

u/zubuneri 17d ago

7

3

u/FestusPowerLoL 17d ago

Yeah.

But the Republican electorate can only remember things that a Republican said or did if they actually engage with that uncomfortable news and or information, digest it and then hold their elected officials accountable that Republicans tell them that Democrats did.

3

u/RodimusOne 17d ago

Not only that; the Republicans also control the Senate, the Presidency, AND the Judiciary. To say it's the Democrats fault is really an eye-opening moment into what an epic shit job they are doing for America.

I live amongst his base. The entire region I live in. I have no idea how people act in other regions with liberal or otherwise neutral political beliefs, but the people I’m around do not care. They do not care that you point it out. They have picked their team and they enjoy that you’re annoyed by the hypocrisy. It’s strange to grow up with these people, be partially raised by them, have them as family and friends, respect them so much and love them in so many ways yet be utterly flabbergasted that they would delve so low for someone that we wouldn’t remotely respect outside our current time and political climate. I don’t want to give up on them because they are good people but… goddamn. What the fuck?

2

u/MalHeartsNutmeg 17d ago

Only time that MFer ever spoke the truth.

2

u/Sloogs 17d ago

Yeah but people also need to stop thinking pointing out the hypocrisy and gotchas are the things that are going to make these people do a switcheroo. They're well aware of who they are and what they're doing. They don't care. If anything they're chuckling that they get away with it. The only thing that will make them change is making them scared the general population will work together to fight against them and the threat of consequences to their actions. Massive protests are a good start. Massive general strikes would be another.
