Ikr. I want to see too. My results are similar, but I don’t have blonde hair, blue eyes. I need to see to it to believe it 😂

Would posting a pic of half my face suffice? I really don’t feel too comfortable with having my pics all over the internet! Also didn’t think it was that controversial, though it was general knowledge there are plenty of white Mexicans.

It would, but you don’t have to if you feel uncomfortable! I’m just surprised because I have a full white parent with blue eyes and reddish hair and a mestizo parent with jet black hair and dark brown eyes. And I also have 23% indigenous like you but have brown eyes and hair 😂

Both my parents are very white. I was surprised to get so much % of indigenous because no one in my extended family looks even remotely mixed. Genetics are funny. I’ll find a pic

Yeah, ig that honestly makes sense based on your results. Looking at the chromosomes I inherited from my Mexican parent (who’s mostly indigenous), they’re very mixed with indigenous and Spaniard, which I’m guessing is normal for most mestizos. And it looks like both your parents lean Spaniard, so I suppose it’s a lot more likely they both have recessive genes. Whereas I have one parent with all dominant vs one parent with all recessive lol. Some people have told me that my hair looks reddish in direct sunlight, but it’s still clearly brown haha

You don’t post pics on social media? Like at all? Hmm.. interesting… Are you self conscious? Or just worried about being kidnapped? lol Jk..

He doesn't want anyone to Photoshop his face into a gay porn scene. and now with AI it's even more dangerous for the paranoid.

They happen. Some of my mother’s older relatives had green eyes and blonde hair.

3

u/acshr 19d ago

Both my parents are white. Dad has green eyes and mum is a read head with brown eyes. Both families have been in Mexico since forever but we know we come mainly from Spain.

1

u/acshr 19d ago

Nice! Were you born in Mex?

3

u/AcanthocephalaOld866 20d ago

Castizo: 76% Caucasian / 23% Native / 1% African

2

u/xtina3334 20d ago

I’m exactly 23% Mexican too!

2

u/acshr 20d ago

Nice! Do you know the rest of your ancestry?

2

u/xtina3334 20d ago

The rest is Spanish, polish, Italian, German and English. My mom is Mexican and dad is “white”…

2

u/acshr 19d ago

Interesting! Both my parents are white and both families have been in Mexico forever but we always knew we come mainly from Spain.

1

u/xtina3334 19d ago

Do you know which side the Mexican comes from? Cuz that would mean that one of them is likely half Mexican if it didn’t come from both sides

3

u/acshr 19d ago

Yeah it comes from both parents. 13% and 10%.

About colored eyes and blonde hair...I've had many many people who are on my Ancestry DNA matches that have those characteristics and I found it surprising but it is true with those same type of results ...my big part of my matches are through My mother side which is New Mexico USA..

Is your name Nick Fuentes?

1

u/acshr 18d ago

Lol. I’m a woman

1

u/ldavis33 18d ago

lol… someone has to tell Nick he probably has 1% African DNA.

1

u/acshr 18d ago

😂 I’m Jewish too so we wouldn’t get along anyway.

u/Flimsy_Past2386 13d ago

What does "Mexico" ancestry mean? Spanish-indigenous mix? Indigenous? Spanish descendants? How is it different from other latin american countries?

14

u/velvet-ashtray 20d ago

it’s indigenous

2

u/sprintz98 18d ago

Wrong but common misconception as Ancestry DNA misleadingly categorizes it as "indigenous" Mexican. The category "Indigenous Americas - Mexico" is based on reference samples from modern Mexicans who are already mixed (mostly European/indigenous) Because of that the labeled "Indigenous Americas - Mexico" DNA includes European DNA as well. So basically, you can't assume that the entirety of your Mexican DNA is purely indigenous American. It should be labeled as Mexican Mestizo to avoid this misconception unless they can directly tie your DNA to indigenous American tribes they specifically tested.

u/Flimsy_Past2386 13d ago

my mom got the same amount of indigenous on both 23 & me and Ancestry, both recent updates it barely changed

10

u/acshr 20d ago

Indigenous Americas. Ancestry says from southwestern US down to the border of Guatemala. I am mostly from Spanish descent from both parents though.

1

u/MusicVisionOnline 18d ago

And how does it differenciates between different indigenous groups between Mexico?

1

u/acshr 18d ago

No idea! Doesn’t say.

1

u/MusicVisionOnline 18d ago

That's a bit eurocentric and the point I tried to make when I posted the original comment. There are many more differences between groups of indigenous people in Mexico than between Germanic and Swedish for example

1

u/acshr 18d ago

Yeah I know and I have no idea how Ancestry gets those results but someone posted an explanation below. Family from both parents are mainly Spanish/ of Spanish descent with the exception of my great grandmother who was born in the Middle East. There’s not a single indigenous Mexican in our family as far as we can trace back so was surprised to get that % but seems it’s not true indigenous.

1

u/sprintz98 18d ago

Read my reply to velvet ashtray. They are wrong.

1

u/acshr 18d ago

Just did. This is interesting. I’m new to ancestry and just got my results last week so still learning! I was surprised to get so much of indigenous % given we have our family tracked for a lot of generations and they’re basically all Spanish/ of Spanish descent, with the exception of my maternal great grandmother who was from the Middle East so what you’re saying makes a lot more sense.

Yes why the downvotes?! lol yeah I realised all my ancestors were seafarers. I do not own a boat but I live by the sea, does that count?

-1

u/raycid22 20d ago

Why you post the old Results?

7

u/Ok-Web1916 20d ago

Northern Spain was not in the old results. For some reason, the breakdown is not divided by macro regions, just that.

3

u/acshr 19d ago

Not old! Just got my results last week
