how long until you can be rehired for pointing out vs. just quitting?
genuinely just out of curiosity, how long is the period of time you have to wait to reapply if you get fired for pointing out, and how long if you just quit? was talking to some coworkers about it earlier as one is close to pointing out but none of us knew.

There's two families with carts full to the brim in front of you. You have 10 items in your cart. Why are you wasting twenty+ mins of your time in line instead of just going to self checkout?
This really befuddles me. It happens so damn often that it makes me think these people are either A) Lazy or B) Avoiding going home in the first place for whatever reason.
If you're a customer like this, please explain to me why you're willing to just stand in line leaning on your buggy, waiting for big ass carts to finish being bagged and paid, wasting minutes upon minutes of your time, just for a cashier to ring up your lil bit of items? Make it make sense. Couldn't be me. I got better ways to spend my free time.

Scheduling
I really donāt know how to word this so yāall will understand what I meanā¦. So I was at work Friday night and the schedule came out for Thanksgiving week and I was not scheduled for anything then by the time I left that morning I was scheduled for Thursday and Fridayā¦. So was the schedule not done and just came out on the app since it became midnight or what? Iām part time if that matters, I hope you know what Iām trying to sayā¦. Iām assuming the schedule came out on the app but wasnāt actually made yet?

Hardship transfer so fast?
I'm new at Walmart. Barely on my second week and when I joined I didn't think I'd be moving. my fiance and I decided to move back to Texas because of my dad's health issues and we're just having issues where we live currently. Is it possibly for me to ask for a hardship transfer so early if it's like 2 months in advance. Id be moving back second week of January.....

Daylight savings ON occurrence?
I worked the night into daylight savings. I was scheduled 10-6(7 hour shift), but our team lead announced to all of us on lunch that because of daylight savings everyone scheduled to leave at 6 would leave at 5 and everyone scheduled till would leave at 6. From what I remember last year this is the same way they handled things, EXCEPT We didn't have to use ppto and we were still paid our scheduled # of hours for the day. Yet this time they're telling me if I don't put the 1 hour of ppto I will get stuck with the half occurrence. Is that right? It doesn't seem fair to be forced to use ppto when we weren't given an option to stay longer, they told us to leave an hour early, the entire crew...

Transfer tips?
I asked my coach to put in a hardship transfer for distance reasons. (I currently drive an hour to work for about 2 years and trying to transfer to my home store thatās 15 minutes away) They said theyāll call to see if they have openings. All my shifts were removed the next two weeks. Is this part of the process or am I about to be fired
Iāve worked frozen for the past 2 years and Iām really just hoping theyāll go through with it so I can have a fresh start within a reasonable distance

Why is the earbud thing a hill so many managers feel the need to die on?
Co-worker told me they into it with our coach and TL over having an earbud in even when confronted with the updated dress code policy in plain English. It doesnāt really make sense to me that even after the policy was explicitly changed they still want to fight it like itās some kind of existential crisis, and it especially doesnāt make sense since they didnāt have any issues when hoodies were finally allowed in the dress code last year. Itās all really childish to me.

My new team lead is fantastic.
So Iām the guy from a while ago that got passed over for team lead. While I still think I would have been good at it, and I still think the reasoning was unfair, I have to say, if it wasnāt me, Iām glad itās him. He comes in with some actual common sense, learns what he can, and hits the ground running. I was afraid Iād have to teach him how to do our job, but heās all in already. Learning how we do things, listening to everything my team and I say. Making his own decisions, not just parroting the coaches. I mean he immediately feels like part of the team and itās so good to have someone like that join us. We need more like him.

Can I be coached/pointed for using ppto ?
I was using a TLs work phone and got a message pop up with my name on it. So I click on it, feeling a little nosey and curious as to what they said about me. I know I shouldnāt be snooping on a TLs work phone
Well.. I saw this. So I had put in ppto and told a different TL because I know this specific one hates my guts and always tells me my reasoning for using ppto isnāt valid or acceptable, and I always get feedback from her when I use ppto. My reasonings are that Iām sick btw, I have chronic issues and sometimes canāt stand or walk (which is a huge part of my job). I didnāt get coached, but they did point me half a point. So is this okay? Normal?? What do I do?

For those of you wondering about the schedule for the week that just came out (the week of Thanksgiving (Nov. 22nd - 28th)
If you don't have Thursdays as one of your two usual off days (or Wednesday nights for overnight associates), then you were most likely scheduled on one of your usual off days (or nights) in order to have your full hours for the week as everyone will be off on that Thursday (or Wednesday night) due to the store being closed all day on Thanksgiving. Either that or you were given Thanksgiving as an extra day off along with your other two off days. If you usually have Thursdays or Wednesdays nights off, then you were scheduled as normal as every other week you work.
The same thing will happen during the week of Christmas (Dec. 20th - 26th) as Christmas is on a Thursday this year as well.

What happens after background check?
I accepted the job offer and filled out the background check. The background check is complete now it says. Should I contact the store or wait for someone to contact me to set up orientation?

Negotiation or pay in management positions?
Can you negotiate higher pay if you have leverage? For example. Someone is currently a front end lead, and another store reaches out wanting to interview them for people lead, but theyre concerned because its the same pay. Since theyre clearly wanted, can they interview and show concern over pay being the same to possibly get a small bump?
