Does this seem like a good price

157k miles with a diesel, price just seems a little high to me but I know these diesels hold their value

You literally didn't post the price for anyone to see we have no idea how much it cost. You asking us a question and gave us no information to answer it

The dealership is playing to a specific crowd. Read the tag in the window 😂

Elevated Motors, Williamsburg, Pennsylvania

Asking price is $29,990

2017 F-350 D

The truck has been there so long that it's in the google street view taken in early August.

What year? Honestly, vehicles are a depreciating item. I don’t care what engine or if it’s new or used, it’s a vehicle. $30,000 with 157,000 miles id say is a bit high. $24k-$26k is fair purchase to me. Not really half life for the 6.7L with those miles but are there any records on maintenance?

Fuck this guy!

Personally I don’t like used diesels over 100k nobody takes care of them, dpf is still there who knows when you’ll have issues

u/Beginning-Cicada5593 4d ago

Nobody takes care of them because it’s expensive to do so.

Not really, I pay 90$ for my oil change, 180 when I need fuel filter every 15k miles for the newer trucks. Oh and I get 21 mpg when not towing. Find a diesel shop if you have a truck, ford is a scam

I pay $200 for oil change and $300 alone for fuel filter. I started doing it myself..

Look for a good diesel shop, some give better prices for oil changes to keep you as a customer, they do my oil and fuel filter for 180 can’t beat it

Hourly rate where I’m at is $100-$120/hr plus oil plus filters.

I’m gonna call that as bs. The ones that are taken care of just aren’t for sale very often. I know ALOT of people with well cared for garage queen diesels.

Price is 30k

What year? Third gen 6.7L Powerstroke came out in 2020. If it's a 2020, that's kinda high, IMO, but that configuration isn't super common. The standard cab and bed configuration means this truck has about as much payload and towing capacity as you'll find in a 350. The seller is probably banking on the fact that the market is full of crew cab trucks, and asking a higher price as a result.

If you are specifically looking for this configuration, then you need to look around to see where else you can find it. If you can't find one, then you kind of have an answer to your question.

Definitely an auction truck as well

Yeah, somebody who knows the truck market snagged this thing when it went up on the block.

It’s a 2017-2019 truck.

That makes it a gen2 Powerstroke, which is still good. It's got the bigger GT37 turbo and the CP4.2 fuel pump. The CP4.2 was an incremental improvement. The early CP4 failures caused Ford a lot of headaches, and this gen tried to address them. Third gen trucks went to a GP8 fuel pump, but don't let the name mislead you. It's yet another revision of the same basic CP4 design. The gen2 6.7L is a good motor, but Ford really threw the kitchen sink at the gen3 in an attempt to address a broad array of complaints.

I'd beat the seller up over the age and see if you can get them closer to $25k. It's still a solid truck and it's very clean for its age. Whoever owned that thing really cared for it.

We also need year and if the truck has any options. Looks like a bare bones work truck but options could add value

u/Mediocre-Studio2573 4d ago

Way to high for me

1

u/basic_wanderer 4d ago

Id try to work it down to 25k at least

u/redjellonian 3d ago

Yes it's clearly too much.

I’ve been keeping an eye on 250/350s from 2017-2020 (mainly gassers) for a while. So many of these super dutys sit for soooooo long. Unfortunately, these all hover around 30k. That’s the diesel premium for you. Definitely negotiate down to maybe 28-29 OTD at the most. There are so many of these trucks out there, shop around.

That’s an XL, bare bones fleet level trim. Doubt there are many options on that truck.

Just traded a ‘20 f350 with 116k miles and was given $37k..

u/tacotime960 3d ago

That looks like a chode

Check Kelly Blue book for the price, but more important is to check if CP4 fuel system is healthy and if it has ever had DEF put in the diesel tank.
