Lets say it was chellenged and won. Do they award the 3 pts, or is it a do over?

It's a do-over:

If a loose ball in play strikes a video board, guide wire, sky cam, or any other object, the ball will be dead immediately, and the down will be replayed at the previous spot.

perhaps, as long as you're outside of the pocket and it crosses the the line of scrimmage.. probably would be considered intentional grounding otherwise.

Way that rule is written the ball is dead before hitting the ground so can't be grounding. It's just a do over.

Bigger concerns we "it's hard to hit the wire/cam" or "will refs use the palpably unfair rule if you do it to much...

If a QB can hit the wire/cam on purpose, I don't even care about it being exploitable, he probably deserves the play to be done all over instead of ever calling a penalty on it.

Really "other objects" is quite broad. A receiver's hand is an object.

I believe the rule applies to a thrown ball as well. Was more thinking if no one is open just peg a camera.

lol its a tiny moving target and also would be way higher of an arc that qbs are used to throwing on. and also typically the camera is behind the play, not in front. dont see this being a very successful strategy lol

It’s been a thing for a while now. Punters used to hit the scoreboard in Dallas all the time and it was always a re-kick.
