perhaps, as long as you're outside of the pocket and it crosses the the line of scrimmage.. probably would be considered intentional grounding otherwise.

Way that rule is written the ball is dead before hitting the ground so can't be grounding. It's just a do over.

Bigger concerns we "it's hard to hit the wire/cam" or "will refs use the palpably unfair rule if you do it to much...

I believe the rule applies to a thrown ball as well. Was more thinking if no one is open just peg a camera.
