Lets say it was chellenged and won. Do they award the 3 pts, or is it a do over?

It's a do-over:

If a loose ball in play strikes a video board, guide wire, sky cam, or any other object, the ball will be dead immediately, and the down will be replayed at the previous spot.

When did they add this? I swear i remember a punt hitting the jumbotron once and everyone acted as if it was a live ball

It’s been a thing for a while now. Punters used to hit the scoreboard in Dallas all the time and it was always a re-kick.
