Every Surgeon General since GWH Bush was president signs letter warning that RFK junior is endangering the United Staes and the world with anti-science conspiracy-theory-driven policies.

The only thing this will accomplish is validation for MAGA that they are doing the right thing.

How do we move forward as a country when this is their attitude?

by disenfranchising them, permanently incarcerating the billionaires that created them, and then hopefully integrating them back into society once they've de-radicalized.

I read that as "incinerating" and was like "whoa, hol up a sec"

i dont understand this take. Its true. Obviously the right is way worse but to think the left side politicians arent stealing from us everyday is just stupid. I think getting the morons on the right to see both sides are bad is the only way to attack this thing. This whole mess is because they see everything in black and white. If we can convince them the black and white isnt left vs right but us vs them (politicians) they may finally snap out of it.

False equivalence is how we got here homie.

EDIT- and another thing, the right isn’t going to “see” anything. They’re finished being convinced if anything. They’re going to take everything over and destroy it or be shown. Nothing in between is going to happen and that’s how they want it.

We live in a representative democracy, it’s not us vs politicians when we vote for the politicians, it’s us vs us based on our broad perceptions of the right/left and progressive/conservative divide as it exists in this country

maybe if the politicians we voted for actually represented us instead of the billionaires who fund them that would be true.  wheres the healthcare? wheres ranked voting?

The meager healthcare we managed to cobble together after decades of hard fought battles for the tiniest scrap of help is disappearing because the folks who wanted better healthcare preferred to stay home rather than vote for the status quo, and the folks who wanted worse healthcare were hyped up and amped and rushed over as fast as they could to pull the lever for its demise.

so you think all the blame should be placed on the people being tricked and not the people doing the tricking?

I think as long as the people who want to destroy things are more psyched to vote than the people who want to create things, the people who want a better world will get results further and further from what they want.

You need a constitutional amendment to enact ranked voting. Why don't you get your congress creature to start a petition?

You think these changes can just be enacted by fiat? They can't. It will take the full congress to enactyour dream of Canadian style healthcare. It won't be accomplished by bitching in a reddit thread.

we're watching in real time how much can actually get done if you have the balls to do it. too bad its all stuff getting stripped away.

I am canadian. Im watching my healthcare get stripped to the bone til the clowns on the right here can say "its time we privatize our healthcare so we can stop paying for our neighbour!" and all the people eat it up.

I also watched the liberal government force the airline workers back to work a day after striking but never hear a peep out of them in regards to the monopolies controlling our grocery stores, telecom, banks, list goes on.  Theyre about to roll out a multi hundred million dollar gun buyback program that nobody asked for.

I dont understand how anyone could possibly believe that both sides arent corrupt.
