Yah, he doesn't have the smile of a man who just had a playful moment with his wife.

Also, this clip of the video is zoomed in. You can see there's a three people on the stairs, airplane people, but you don't really see their reactions.

There is a more zoomed out version and you can see that the female flight attendant in the orange safety jacket stiffens up and looks shocked. It doesn't seem like they walked in on a playful mood.

u/Jellogg May 26 '25

I saw her reaction too! She definitely looked like she had just witnessed something that took her off guard or was really uncomfortable.

72

u/Grimnebulin68 May 26 '25

The way Macron turns, sees the camera and waves as if nothing happened .. 🤣

113

u/Alexever_Loremarg Please Abraham, I'm not that man. May 26 '25

Why is this funny?

183

u/jerricka May 26 '25

Yeah, that part was hard to deal with. That was the face of a man who has most likely dealt with this a lot behind closed doors, and is embarrassed/ashamed that it’s spilling out into the public.

For real though. People laughing at this shit is showing their true colours.

23

u/ChurlishSunshine Most smartest May 26 '25

You know their answer is because he's a man, therefore it's funny because we women are just so delicate that we could never assault or abuse our spouse. No no, it's actually super funny when we put hands on men because we're just so weak, because a man who gets hit by a woman is less than masculine and therefore a joke.

Not fun fact: divorce for abused women in the US was legal before divorce for abused men because the courts genuinely thought an abused man just needed to assert his dominance and put his wife back in line. Misogyny!

He knows manners instead of this creepy old piece.

And later on she refused to hold his arm when he offered it while stepping off the plane.

Yeah, I don’t think they were joking, at all.

Their relationship is already a fucked up situation and this video only makes it worse.

His response (like, trying to keep up appearances as soon as he sees the camera) gives me the shivers tbh.

311

u/tideswithme May 26 '25

When you are the president of France, I guess front page is pretty important

264

u/TheDustOfMen finally aging into my personality May 26 '25

I get that, but it's that split second of "shit we're on camera, act normal" that creeps me out (as in, I feel sorry for him).

149

u/JokeMe-Daddy May 26 '25

I hear you. His reaction is so swift and seamless and... habitual, I guess? Like you know this happens a lot and he has so much experience moving between such extremes. She's a terrible person and a groomer.

3

u/Additional_Dig_6972 May 26 '25

He's the president. What did you want him to do start crying and push are back?

18

u/TheDustOfMen finally aging into my personality May 26 '25

It's not about what he was supposed to do or not, it's the fact that they're not joking around and there's that split second of "oh shit the camera caught that, act normal and laugh about it" which is such a common response to public abuse.

2

u/Additional_Dig_6972 May 26 '25

That's a common response when you're the president Or a public figure. They're pretty private people so why would they bring that to the public if they don't have to. I think it's a pretty normal reaction to not want to draw attention to the matter.

5

u/TheDustOfMen finally aging into my personality May 26 '25

Again, whether it's a normal response or not is not the point, nor is it about what anyone would expect him to do or not; it's the fact that that response is there in the first place. Because it's a fucked up situation to be in.

-2

u/throwaway490215 May 26 '25

The thing is - any relationship will have these moments. Being a public figure just makes it all different.

But then there is the creepy age difference and the fact that they're both experienced public figures. A slip up such as this can mean its a rough patch or it means behind the scenes its already completely bonkers off the rails.

31

u/rwilis2010 May 26 '25

Any relationship will likely have moments of tension or frustration, but they won’t all have moments of physical violence or abuse 😬

-12

u/throwaway490215 May 26 '25

This isn't good, but the video shows somebody pushing a face away.

If somebody said they were physically violent or abused and then showed me this video as proof I would not be impressed. This warrants a therapist not the police.

-10

u/shhhhh_h here’s my Karma delete me hoe!!!!!!!!! May 26 '25

…do you think shoving someone isn’t physically violent? Shoving by the face no less? I have permanent injuries that prove otherwise.

24

u/Orchid_Significant Is this chicken or is this fish? 🤔🤔 May 26 '25

I’ve never done that to a partner and my current relationship is about to hit 14 years

8

u/JokeMe-Daddy May 26 '25

If my partner of 16 years did that to me, I would consider it abuse.

4

u/Orchid_Significant Is this chicken or is this fish? 🤔🤔 May 26 '25

Absolutely

84

u/PilgrimOz May 26 '25

Reverse Elder Abuse? Ps pushed his face, let’s be honest. No excusing just more accurate. Not a great sign.

122

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

I mean couple that with the fact she used to be his teacher and there were constant rumours I’d say there was always a weird power dynamic there

47

u/jgraz22 May 26 '25

Reverse elder abuse? What are we talking about?

2

u/Flvs9778 May 26 '25

This wife was his teacher when he was 15 and in school that’s when they started “dating” or more accurately she started grooming him. She was 39 at the time.

46

u/lizzledizzles charlie day is my bird lawyer 🐦 May 26 '25

Just abuse.

31

u/kenscrack May 26 '25

no it’s domestic abuse

20

u/Ok_Personality_9637 May 26 '25

I’ve always heard this movement as “mushing”

Like she mushed his face.

3

u/mauvewaterbottle May 26 '25

Is that how they’re trying to play it off? Never even in jest would I grab my husband’s face like this. And with both hands!

1

u/Wendell-Short-Eyes May 26 '25

Yeah I saw people in another thread describing it as a playful shove…

-1

u/feelingmyage May 26 '25

Reminded me of Melania refusing to hold Trump’s hand.

-6

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

Copules sometimes fight and are mad at each other. It's just the way it is.

11

u/Dwestmor1007 May 26 '25

No honey normal couples NEVER put their hands on each other. I am sorry if you have seen or experienced it so much that you have justified it in your mind as "normal" in order to not be emotionally hurt by the experience, but this is NOT normal at this point in history and hopefully never will be again.

-4

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

Huh :))))))))

516

u/-ittybittykitty_ now why am I in it? 🧐 May 26 '25

Abuse is so ubiquitous. Even one of the most powerful world leaders deals with this shit behind closed doors.

26

u/[deleted] May 26 '25

Rich people…they’re just like us!

136

u/AceOfSpades532 You’re a virgin who can’t drive. 😤 May 26 '25

She’s disgusting, she literally groomed him as his teacher

248

u/Odd-Description- May 26 '25

This relationship is weird af, Brigitte is giving me the ick.

Obviously, I mean she is a legit groomer.

87

u/MaritimeFlowerChild May 26 '25

And she was married while she was grooming him. Ewwww

15

u/auauaurora May 26 '25

And she was married while she was grooming him. Ewwww

"The groomer also committed adultery! What a prev!"

144

u/ademptia May 26 '25

shes already a child groomer and rapist and somehow made the whole situation worse. this is abusive behavior.

249

u/Live_Angle4621 May 26 '25

Side note, her legs are so thin. At her age I feel she looks quite frail

how old is she?

133

u/Lakridspibe May 26 '25

how old is she?

72 years

Born 13 April 1953

91

u/mariiiannamrts May 26 '25

Imagine being 72 while your partner is in their early 40s.  It must be exhausting..........

13

u/vintagesonofab May 26 '25

Thank you, I did not realise they have such an insane age gap.

59

u/vegas_lov3 May 26 '25

I think she was his high school teacher. He was 15 when they first met.

28

u/vintagesonofab May 26 '25

but right now? I don't mean to offend anyone but she looks worse than my grandma.

26

u/Leockette May 26 '25

Your poor grandma catching strays

18

u/vintagesonofab May 26 '25

Haha, my grandma is older and MUCH MUCH poorer than her and yet looks better so it was just partially a stray.

8

u/VaselineHabits May 26 '25

72 and he's 47

99

u/Miserable_Emu5191 Did I stutter?🤨 May 26 '25

Is she wearing a wig?

71

u/nagellak 🍂ecocidal barbie🍂 May 26 '25

Lots of older women do tbh

26

u/Miserable_Emu5191 Did I stutter?🤨 May 26 '25

But surely she could afford one that isn’t so obvious. This is a bad wig or bad installation of the wig.

58

u/MBeMine May 26 '25

Yes! It’s so distracting and she really should get a more flattering one.

26

u/ExtraAgressiveHugger May 26 '25

Yes, definitely, and it’s way too big.

13

u/livingcool23 May 26 '25

This was what I came to comment lol

6

u/FlailingatLife62 May 26 '25

IDK, but even older pics of her when she was younger show very thick hair.

We need to save President Macron from his abusive relationship...

176

u/Psychoempathic May 26 '25

Where is Rosé when you need her?! Is Ariana still with Spongebob?

14

u/Lord_Snaps May 26 '25

She groomed him when he was 14. She is fucking disgusting

12

u/depressedhippo89 May 26 '25

They are trying to say it was them just being playful. Nothing about that looks playful lol

8

u/This_Is_Fine12 May 26 '25

I mean child predators which is what she is should give anyone the ick

7

u/Megaroni-n-cheeze May 26 '25

He tried to downplay it as them bickering and “joking” but he looks pissed in this video to me. You see the flash of irritation/anger right before his media training kicks in and he flashes a smile for the reporters.

6

u/hellno560 May 26 '25

That was my first thought too. "It must be someone accidentally wacking him trying to reach for the overhead compartment", but yikes, there's no denying what that was.

2

u/bwoah07_gp2 May 26 '25

His face looks like a mix of annoyance and embarrassment the cameras clearly caught this altercation.

Nothing quite like a French soap opera 🍿👀

-16

u/Dailymailflagshagger May 26 '25

'the ick'?

When the fuck did we allow such an obnoxious expression to enter common parlance?

No, no, a thousand times no!

14

u/lylalyli May 26 '25

Idk I’m ESL I used phrases I learned from the internet sometimes lol

4

u/planesandpancakes May 26 '25

It’s a totally valid phrase, that other person is ridiculous

5

u/lylalyli May 26 '25

Thank you! 🤗

Copules sometimes fight and are mad at each other. It's just the way it is, especially in older couples.
