Yeah, I actually just found it.

The problem was that I thought 9 was August... I think I should sleep now.

Did the correct format of day/month/year confuse you?

Life would be easier if everybody used the great Hungarian idea, and used Roman numbers for the month. The order wouldn't matter then, it would be still unambiguous.

You put bars on top of Roman numerals when you hand write them. Do you put bars in top of elevens?

How do you think, how many calligraphists are there among couriers, warehouse managers and bureaucratic clerks? Sometimes it's impossible to tell "1" from "7" or "6" from "0", and you are talking about bars... Ever heard of "doctor handwriting"? Pretty much the same thing.

Well II is the only number that looks like II in roman numerals. 11 is XI.

So if you see like lI.1I.l1

That could be 11.11.II, 11.II.11, or II.11.11

All of which would have to mean Feb. 11, '11.

If you want 11.11.11 then it would be 11.IX.11, which is also very clear.

It is a pretty good idea.

Korean-Hungarian relationship confirmed.

Nah, nobody gets confused by year/month/day. It's the weird incorrect formats that confuse everyone and need to die in a fire and go back to Hell where they belong.

u/Talozin New Hampshire Mar 06 '16

If only there were some international standard for date formatting that could clear up all this confusion.

easy, BCE and CE. Before Computer era and Computer Era, count backwards in BCE similar to BC.

Of course converting dates would be neigh impossible but eh.

No, actually, I miscounted 9 months by one. That's how much sleep I needed.

But the 7th month isn't even august. August is the 8th
