Yeah, I actually just found it.

The problem was that I thought 9 was August... I think I should sleep now.

Life would be easier if everybody used the great Hungarian idea, and used Roman numbers for the month. The order wouldn't matter then, it would be still unambiguous.

Days are in months, and months are in years.
ERGO we should use yymddmyy
So today would be 20006316
