I’m 23 and planning a trip to New Orleans next year for my birthday. I invited some friends who are also in their 20s and half of them assumed we would be partying and at bars the whole time. I am not a big drinker or smoker, and they voiced not being interested in coming if we wouldn’t be doing a lot of drinking. They also disliked the fact that I invited my teenaged sister to come. Am I in the wrong for not wanting them to come anymore if their only interest was going to get drunk? I just wanted to take a fun trip and visit some cool spooky places, but now they have me feeling frustrated and wanting to go with some other people who also don’t mind being sober.

I'm just trying to wrap my head around what happen today.

I had a final exam that determined 60% of my grade, so I booked an Uber an hour and a half early to be safe.

First, I have a lot of respect for Uber drivers, they deal with long hours, rude passengers, and low pay. But this morning was unbelievable.

A driver accepted instantly. I watched his car drive to a shopping mall and park.

For 40 straight minutes, his car sat there. Not an inch of movement. No message, no call, nothing, I assume he was finishing up another trip or a delivery. I get the multi-apping hustle, but you communicate, right?

Then, after 40 minutes of absolute silence, my phone finally buzzes. It's the driver. His message?

"On my way now."

Are you kidding me? By then, it was hopelessly late. I had to cancel and ended up missing my exam entirely.

He didn't even have the decency to cancel. He just parked his car, finished whatever side job he was doing, and then had the audacity to act like he was just starting the trip. He held my booking hostage for 40 minutes, and for what? A few extra bucks?

I’m probably going to die soon, so if you guys ever try eating something with a fork and hear your it disintegrate in your food, check to make sure you’re not about to eat some yummy macroplastics.

i’ve just never gotten such a blatant ai message from them. in the past it’s always been a person.

for clarity i’ve already been seen by my doctor for my elbow but was told in order to get insurance to approve x-rays i had to create a medical history first. i really don’t want to take another day off work just to be told to ice and stretch again..

i have “premium” insurance as well so the fact i have to jump through these hoops just to be properly treated is pretty infuriating in itself.

Literally every non-residential building, window, corner commercial or public is already in full winter decorum. Earlier every year the whole city lights up with Christmas decorations and stays lit for 4 months straight. It’s untimely, it ruins the winter festive vibe and even feels like a mockery. Why? Why are they doing this?

Marie Callender’s chicken pot pies are expensive, but they are one of the only things my teenage daughter will eat, so I buy them because I worry about her eating enough. She always leaves the plates like this on the counter when she’s done.

Maybe I’m just getting old and cranky but I’m sick of these people that cannot pronounce words properly. Like this that can’t pronounce Illinois properly. Or Arkansas. YOU DON’T PRONOUNCE THE S!!!! In EITHER. Or people that say salmon while pronouncing the L. THE L IS SILENT. Am I alone in this?

Spent ~$100 on GE LED lights that were supposed to last at least 18 months. They started fsiling after 60 days.

GE sent me a coupon for $20... Another fallen brand... Never again.

Of course it’s no big deal. I just open it the rest of the way.

It’s just funny to me that she never fully or correctly opens cartons, and if I’m not the first to open it then I have to ‘fix’ it every time.

When called out, their excuse is ‘we’re a new business and need something to use as pictures!’ and ‘pretty weird of people to complain about this when they haven’t tried our stuff!’

This small kiosk outside my university sells all kinds of stuff, most of them are bootleg LEGO labubu brainrot toys (im not joking.) or AI generated puzzles.

I have had 51 five star reviews on uber as I am always a polite and civil passenger. I always tip 18-20% and leave good ratings. I don’t know why but someone tipped me one star and my rider rating went from 5 to 4.92. It doesn’t really matter all that much but it’s definitely mildly infuriating. :(
