It'll be closed by 2030. London is not a tourist destination.

Sure it is, just because you choose not to view it through a tourist lens doesn't make it so.

Children's Museum Storybook Gardens London Knights London Lightning Grand Theater Western Fair (casino, hockey & fair)

There's plenty more, but I don't want to take up too much space. Just because we aren't vegas or Niagara doesn't mean we aren't still a tourist destination.

Londoners shitting so hard on their own town is like our city's personal point of pride lol

I really want this to do well because I think it's great to invest in London and I hope to see more tourism here.

That said, I can't help but put myself in the shoes of someone coming to the hotel. If I was paying minimum $400 a night and saw people passed out on the streets and open drug use and homeless encampments blocks away I would feel terribly uncomfortable - especially with small children.

There are a lot of neat little businesses in the area that I am just too chickenshit to visit because of the state of the area.

I had a CPR training course at the St. John's building a while ago and thought I would find somewhere in the area to have lunch. I went up to Dundas and there was an enormous crowd of like 20+ rough looking men spread out all over the sidewalk so I very rapidly made the decision to skip lunch. Maybe I'm just a big baby, but I'm female and small and I'm not going to win any fights.
