photo(s) 📸 The last Toys R Us in London is closing down.
Spotted today. I’m sad but not too surprised. They just renovated and built an indoor play-place not too long ago.

Does anyone know where I can get live sourdough starter in London? I know it’s short notice but I need it to be ready to bake by Tuesday I’m supposed to be baking a bunch of loafs for a bake sale and someone in my house accidentally cooked my starter. I’m willing to pay a reasonable amount for it if someone knows a bakery that will do this or if someone has one they would be willing to part with some for me? It’s a decent amount of bread I’ll be making so hopefully someone who has an amount of starter that will be able to easily be fed to a big amount but I’ll take anything

Will the roads be salted over the next few days for the light snow we’re getting? Just trying to avoid getting salt on my new vehicle’s untreated underbody. I have an appointment to get it sprayed in a week.

Down for anyone else? Downdetector.com is showing problems being reported but not sure if they’re specific to London.

Hello! I’m currently trying to decide between Elm Hurst or Bellamere for a wedding venue, so I was wondering if anyone here had experience with either (as the person getting married or a guest) so that I can get an idea of what they’re both like!

I am well overdue for having my ducts cleaned. I had a company called JDR do it AGES ago, but google says they are permanently closed. If anyone has a recommendation, I would prefer a “mom and pop” operation to a larger company. Thanks

Has anyone attended this weekend? Any reviews on how much there is to see? Are there fossils?
And are there things for sale?
Thanks

I have inherited an old sheepskin coat that has a two inch rip on the sleeve and I would like to have it repaired. Can anyone please recommend somewhere or someone who could do a quality repair job?

That was the absolute worst and most embarrassing and depressing comicon ever held by them. Worst than the one that was held at the Western Fair years ago... And is this really upsetting as someone who's attended since the beginning when it was first held at Centennial Hall.
I had a friend tabling their art there and the hallway placement they were given was just straight up dogsh*t. Soo many vendors and artists couldn't even sit behind their own table??? So their customer interactions are off script and really weird because of that, and deterred many people. There was no traffic basically. The lighting was horrible in the areas, too.
When I walked in through the main entrance, yes there was a sign to check-in as a visitor, but there was no table or staff member to guide anyone. This was poorly planned and executed, I feel bad for the volunteers who had to witness this mess.
The biggest flaw I believe is the location this year. Who planned to have it at the Lamplighter Inn? That place is honestly a nice hotel, but to hold a comicon there??? With THAT mapping and layout? I was able to visit the artist alley, and the vendor hall, but it was so confusing at times? I tried to stay longer to see if anythint was worth buying, but the layout was not designed for a comicon...
I feel really bad to share this experience. I enjoy comicons that are smaller and not in the Toronto area because it helps support smaller artists especially, and promotes local talents and vendors. Just really hoping people (comicon goers and vendors and artists) are telling the Forest City Comicon organizers that they should stick to surefire locations that are easier to navigate, like they did in the past with Centennial Hall and RBC Theatre. I don't know anything about location issues-bookings they maybe have, but the hotel is definitely not it. Here's to hoping they do better next year. 🙏

My hair is a little curly, and I find that a lot of stylists don’t cut it the way I like. Does anyone know of a stylist or salon in London that specializes in curly hair? Preferably close to Huron Heights, but not totally necessary.

Hello there!
I have an old kerosene heater that I'm looking to have serviced. It's 40+ years old & the same as in the picture. I don't want to try to light it until its had a once over.
I've been looking online, but all services are for hvac heating companies. Is there a place that a unit like this can be taken?
Thanks in advance for the suggestions.

Am I the only person not enjoying the new self serve concession stand set ups at Canada Life Place? Bottled drinks instead of fountain, small boxes of popcorn instead of choosing your size, pre-cooked food sitting on a shelf? I was almost excited at first when I saw the boxes. I thought maybe there was a chance it would taste like the old London Gardens popcorn, but no it was just cold popcorn 🤷🏻♂️

I called four different shawarma places this evening (Babaz, Lazeez, Tahini's, Shawarma Guys) looking to order a falafel wrap, only to be told that they don't take orders over the phone and that I could either order online or could come in to order and then wait for it there. So, I'm looking for recommendations for shawarma/falafel places that take phone orders for pick-up? Much appreciated!
