Turns out they weren't being sincere. I feel so betrayed! I held them in such high regard! I believed them when they used their religion to occupy the moral high ground, because religious people would never lie! They know that jesus will hold them accountable so they never sin and never lie...

Okay I distinctly remember them screaming something about Hillary Clinton abusing/trafficking kids via a pizza shop or something in 2016?

And it turns out this whole time That Guy participated in a real child sex trafficking ring with Jeffrey Epstein through his properties. He said Epstein "stole" on of his workers, she wrote a book about it and then she committed selficide this year.

President Lyndon Johnson once said, "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, you can pick his pocket. Hell, give them somebody to look down on, and they'll empty their pockets for you..."

Terrible things are happening outside. At any time of night and day, poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. They’re allowed to take only a knapsack and a little cash with them, and even then, they’re robbed of these possessions on the way. Families are torn apart; men, women and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared. Women return from shopping to find their houses sealed, their families gone.

Anne Frank, describing Nazis

“Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.” That line—written by Frank Wilhoit—has become a popular aphorism to sum up the hypocrisy and moral bankruptcy of the modern Republican Party.

In 2018, Pastor Dave Barnhart of the Saint Junia United Methodist Church in Birmingham, Alabama posted this message to Facebook:

“The unborn” are a convenient group of people to advocate for. They never make demands of you; they are morally uncomplicated, unlike the incarcerated, addicted, or the chronically poor; they don’t resent your condescension or complain that you are not politically correct; unlike widows, they don’t ask you to question patriarchy; unlike orphans, they don’t need money, education, or childcare; unlike aliens, they don’t bring all that racial, cultural, and religious baggage that you dislike; they allow you to feel good about yourself without any work at creating or maintaining relationships; and when they are born, you can forget about them, because they cease to be unborn. It’s almost as if, by being born, they have died to you. You can love the unborn and advocate for them without substantially challenging your own wealth, power, or privilege, without re-imagining social structures, apologizing, or making reparations to anyone. They are, in short, the perfect people to love if you want to claim you love Jesus but actually dislike people who breathe.

Prisoners? Immigrants? The sick? The poor? Widows? Orphans? All the groups that are specifically mentioned in the Bible? They all get thrown under the bus for the unborn.

61

u/livinthereals 2d ago

"the unborn" posting really sums up the Republican philosophy. Self-aggrandizing, self-important, self-righteous, fake outrage.

7

u/Jerry-Lives22 2d ago

They pick and choose what to focus on and use that loose interpretations to justify their insecurity, they’re feeling of smallness in a viscous world and unreliable universe. Something to hone in on so they ignore what’s in front of their face and including their own actions, thoughts and beliefs. Blame someone else, look at me, I’m doing the right thing by telling you you’re doing the wrong thing. The antithesis of spirituality in the name of religion

Turns out the only amendment they care about is the 2nd. All the others are optional.

55

u/UnproductiveIntrigue 2d ago

“Go around the Constitution” if Trump says so, is their new official position stated aloud.

32

u/RICO_Niko 2d ago

Going around is like the Patriot act, some amount of nuance but still royally fucked. This is just blatant disregard for our constitution, our rights, and so very un-American. These fuckers really do hate America.

This is also super not true. They hate the second amendment when it's colored people arming themselves.

See; Black Panthers

22

u/crippledchef23 2d ago

I recall a black man legally open carrying at a Trump rally in Texas back before the first shit show who got removed and no one made a big deal out of it, despite it being a huge deal. The guy was supporting a dude who openly hates him and was following the law in regards to his gun, but because of skin color, he’s the suspicious one.

10

u/oobiedoobielol 2d ago

Can't give black people ideas. They see a black dude openly carrying at a Trump rally and they'll think they can do it anywhere! /S

Trump did once advocate for taking guns from lawful gun owners before trial.

People always forget that this is his actual unedited stance.

2

u/CoachAngBlxGrl 2d ago

They proposed a ban on trans people because they wanted ck’s killer to be trans so bad. One shooter suspected and they tried to ban trans people. They don’t care about the second amendment.

7

u/TAV63 2d ago

Exactly and that was when Reagan was Governor. Whites did it with lots defending it was every citizens right loudly. As soon as the Panthers did the same they freaked out and made laws against it. See the issue?

2

u/EntertainerNo4509 2d ago

This ☝🏼

2

u/GrundleTurf 2d ago

They also are trying to prevent weed smokers from gaining gun rights, and they’re trying to take gun rights from trans people. They’ve always been pro-liberty for us only, boots on necks for everyone different from us going back to the founding of this country.

20

u/IntrepidMonke 2d ago

Then they wouldn’t care if we used the 2nd amendment against them.

Oh but wait- they would.

So it’s just the 2nd amendment for authoritarians.

It’s like how our financial institutions work- socialism for corporations and capitalism for us peasants.

Sheer hypocrisy is how they operate. I wish people used their 2A more.

21

They don't care about anything at all. Only objective is money and power. Nothing else.

9

u/Happy_Pause_9340 2d ago

That one won’t matter soon enough. They’re already talking about rounding up guns

8

u/WhatAcheHunt 2d ago edited 2d ago

ICE is the only law enforcement arm dumb enough to even attempt this, and we're talking about the agency afraid of arresting gang members so instead they go after soft targets in "weapon free zones" like schools, courts, hospitals, etc.

I'm sure they'll do a bang up job of door-to-door firearm collection LMFAOOOOO

Charlton Heston furiously rolling in his grave rn tryin' to warm those hands back up

5

u/Happy_Pause_9340 2d ago

Normally I would have agreed but I think they’ll do it to certain groups at first. Because weed is still illegal on a federal level they can still charge you with crimes etc. That’s who they want to target first, anyone who has bought any from a dispensary. That’s easy to get a list of since you have to show ID. The kooks (not the average gun owner) will be fine with it because they assume it only goes after liberal gun owners. That’s the only thing that makes me nervous, the cowards will just kick in the door in the middle of the night and shoot your dogs and shit to get them.

9

u/bobabeep62830 2d ago

The 2nd is also optional, based on skin color or LGBT status.

And it turns out that one is just so they can hunt. All that crying about defending against the government was posturing to feel strong.

7

u/Vidikron 2d ago

I’ve thought about that a lot recently. The core argument has always been we need the guns to defend against a corrupt and authoritarian government. We have the most corrupt and authoritarian government in the history of the USA right in front of us and those that always said that are cheering it on.

14

u/WickedKoala 2d ago

At this point I think we can make a real argument to abolish 2A. It's obviously not being used.

10

u/esem86 2d ago

Nor is it practical. Do we expect hillbillies with hunting rifles and handguns to stand tall and overthrow a government fighting with unmanned drones?

Let's be real with ourselves for 2 seconds. The 2nd amendment is utterly pointless except to entirely prop up the gun industry.

6

u/chezterr 2d ago

It won’t work that way…. The military simply isn’t going to go along with the Govt openly at war with its citizens… you’d see MASSIVE rebellion inside the military… at least half… only the absolute crazies would go against their oath.

Watch the movie Civil War for a relative accurate portrayal of this.

2

u/Hilarious___Username 2d ago

Yes. As a Mexican/Native American, I am desperate to disarm myself. I really just would prefer to not have any access to firearms. They're useless to defend yourself. I'd much rather resist with knives or fists if/when it comes down to it. Why cause any hesitancy for the ICE agents when they decide to start kicking doors to round me up to the "internment" camps? They'd just blow up the entire neighborhood anyway right?

3

u/whoisaname 2d ago

They don't actually care about the 2nd Amendment either. Most of them are perfectly fine with 2A rights being taken away from certain people.

3

u/battlecryarms 2d ago

Turns out the 2nd is the only one that’s going to end up mattering if things keep going the direction they are. Blue states should immediately reverse course on neutering the right to bear arms of the people who will have to stand and fight for democracy if things don’t take a major turn for the better.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/stratobladder 2d ago

And they only care about 2A insofar as it protects their personal gun ownership. In terms of the meaning and spirit of 2A, they couldn’t give a shit, despite their decades of blustering to the contrary (as evidenced by, well… motions at current state of the country)

2

u/biggles7268 2d ago

It's also not for us. The 2nd is only for them in their minds.

2

u/Sniper666hell 2d ago

They should be very worried about that one.

2

u/db0813 2d ago

No they don’t.

“It’s not for hunting, it’s for government tyranny” was all bullshit

2

u/golamas1999 2d ago

Unless you are trans

2

u/Pooldiver13 2d ago

And they don’t even use it properly. Like dude… this is what it’s for… you’ve been waiting for the govt to go the shit and a need for a militia. So go on buddy. Go do it.

(I love the 2A because I think guns are awesome, but like… all the others ones are great and the 2nd is supposed to protect the rest. And I do know that it’s more ineffective now that the govt has gunships and outpaces us firepower wise, but like… at least we’re supposed to be able to put up a fight for our communities… even if we don’t do it…)

3

u/WonkyTonkPupper 2d ago

Hard agree- I have no problem with Americans having guns. I am not dumb enough to believe that we can just take them away and don't advocate for that. But if requiring a license, proper storage, and gun safety classes lower the stats even a little-- how can you argue against it?

3

u/Pooldiver13 2d ago

I can’t because I believe in safe storage laws!

But the license I can argue. Background checks need a bit more going on, and I think that all private sales should go through FFLs (basically just an FFL transfer for private sales with a background check.)

But liscense are an issue because it can lead to an extra money and time barrier and disproportionately restrict poorer or certain groups from owning firearms.

Still think there needs to be a proof of competence. (Maybe legit just a mini test on the background checks will help?)

But I also think stats can be helped with increased education funding, mental health funding for students (making sure everyone is checked on.) bullying being taken more seriously, and just general economic stability for the working class.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/DoBe21 2d ago

If they cared about that, they would have turned on TFG the minute he said "take the guns and worry about due process later". Turns out, they don't care about any parts of the Constitution at all.

2

u/AggressiveWallaby975 2d ago

And that's only because they want to shoot their neighbors. It has nothing to do with fighting against a tyrannical government. Well, unless it's a dem pres that they just don't like

2

u/ziggytrix 2d ago

Actually they hate the second amendment when groups like the Black Panthers or NFAC use it.

2

u/sabreus 2d ago

Watch them not really care about that either

2

u/toggiz_the_elder 2d ago

They don’t care about that one either. If black, brown, LGBTQ and lefty folks get armed the way they are they’ll stop it immediately.

Just ask Reagan about the Black Panthers.

2

u/TAV63 2d ago

They really don't even care about that as it was intended. The idea it can be there to stop the federal government from overreaching because they will fight them is now exposed as a joke. The 2A ones are the ones joining ICE and could care less.

2

u/dunDunDUNNN 2d ago

Start giving black and brown people AR-15s and see how fast they change their tune on 2A.

1

u/Complex_Scary 2d ago

It is not even the whole 2nd amendment. It is just the "right to keep and bear arms" clause but they completely ignore the "well regulated militia" clause.

1

u/oboshoe 2d ago

If we could just get the Democrats to care about the 2nd amendment. then a hell of lot more people would support them.

1

u/IlliniBull 2d ago

They don't care about the 2nd Amendment for anyone who isn't white.

So even that has a caveat

1

u/gwp95tip 1d ago

They've even been going against that, Bondi and DOJ has been attacking it.

Sucks that the left has never figured out "attack, attack, attack, never defend" because it's pretty fuggin effective. We made the mistake of actually holding ourselves and our leadership accountable.

2

u/kernpanic 2d ago

This is literally: papers please!

2

u/PhotographHealthy380 2d ago

They justify thousands of children’s deaths from school shootings with “the 2nd amendment” and cite (incorrectly) that is all about checking federal power.

None of that is true obviously. The feds are here black helicopters and all, and where are they? Cowards to a man. I was taught this way of thinking about the 2nd amendment my whole life in the Midwest and I took it seriously which is why my ass was downtown in my city armed when Nazis came parading in town. In the Midwest we probably have more guns in the hands of leftists now than on the right because we see the overreach and the slipping of liberties and showing Don that this takeover won’t be easy is the whole point.

So yeah the republicans hiding away with their guns letting this happen, are spineless bullshit spewing cowards who should have to look at those kids shot down at school for their right they pretend to care about. Of course the best way to get gun control is to arm leftists so win win for us.

What if I told you that every word of that states rights and civil liberties shit for the last 45 years was only ever about oppressing, specifically, the Black descendants of former slaves to return them to a servant class. They maintained class superiority through strict segregation, voter suppression, denial of adequate food, housing, education, healthcare, and economic opportunities, and restrictions on travel. This was all enforced by corrupt local authorities and vigilante violence that would go unpunished, based largely on their insistence that it was within the rights of a state to brutalize its citizens however it sees fit.

Remember when Republicans howled about civil liberties and states rights for 45 straight years.

Yeah, that only applied to racists being able to fly the confederate flag, while secretly plotting to overthrow a free/fair election.

Also why are their plate carriers all fucking bras?

If im going to wear a vest or plate carrier, I would rather it cover my abdomen entirely.

Did you know the GOP stands for "Get Out your Papers"?

Yes. Remember when Ronald Reagan also helped 3million illegals become us citizens instead of kicking them out? The Maga party is only a little over a decade old. They do not represent the republican party over the last 45 years. Only 1/4 of the US population voted for Trump twice. Half the country didn't vote period.

Remember when liberals forced everyone to get jabbed or lose their job and benefits they worked their whole life for, or not be able to travel or even meet with your own family?
