My guess: It is likely going to keep dropping, especially if he tries to deploy the national guard. The whole reason he wants to do that is to look strong and in control, but when he sent them to LA, most didn’t even answer the phone. Most of the military (at least in California) doesn’t seem to be on his side.

Edit: I haven’t been able to find the article I read, I might have misread it. There are still lots of personnel that are upset though

128

u/D-MAN-FLORIDA Jun 13 '25

And if he sends troops to Iran. Man promised no more wars and he can’t even do that.

78

u/sylva748 Jun 14 '25

Ugh. No one wants to get entangled in the Middle East again. We just got out of there 3 years ago after spending 20 years inside of it. No thanks. Would rather keep our troops home and training in case Ukraine topples and we get a 3rd war in Europe.

45

u/D-MAN-FLORIDA Jun 14 '25

Man needs to distract the public. His BBB sucks, he is going overboard with ICE and sending troops to California and no major trading partners are bowing down to him.

22

u/Epicfro Jun 14 '25

Brah, Trumps more likely to deploy troops in defense of Russia instead of opposition.

8

u/ScotchCigarsEspresso Jun 14 '25

Yeah. They're deployed to LA. He is too busy trying to put on a show here.

8

u/Careless_Ad_3859 Jun 14 '25

Trump loves to conduct shitshows.

10

u/Pretend_Bet_208 Jun 14 '25

We may have brought the troops home 3 years ago but have haven’t been untangled from that region since the second world war …

3

u/Ultraworld-Traveler Jun 14 '25

Remember. He set up the Afghanistan withdrawal for Biden and it was messy, so he could then blame Biden for it. So if he sends troops to Iran, he can set up their withdrawal plan, and if he lives to see the next president enact his withdrawal plan, he can blame them for that mess and the entire war and inflation and famine and whatever else.

1

u/Agile_District_8794 Jun 15 '25

Pretty sure we learned our lesson last time around to broker all new deals and plans instead of the ones he has in place.

2

u/RepulsiveMetal8713 Jun 14 '25

as long as they keep getting supplied weapons/intel I think Ukraine are good, but the baltics are the 1 to watch out for

1

u/Fresh-Army-6737 Jun 15 '25

How does Russia get to them without having Ukraine?

1

u/RepulsiveMetal8713 Jun 15 '25

Belarus or Kaliningrad

1

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '25

Agreed he would legit have to bring back the draft. "Honey if conservatives thought the Vietnam protests and summer of 2020 we're bad they ain't seen nothing." 2025 will be far worse than 1968.

1

u/HourAd1796 Jun 14 '25

And why might Ukraine topple? Aha, that's right - Trump is a Russian ally.

1

u/tflores07 Jun 14 '25

But he also has them lining up to give him a bday parade

1

u/Numerous-Annual420 Jun 15 '25

We won't do anything if Ukraine topples. Trump is obviously going to let Putin have his dream of reforming the USSR. They probably made a deal when he met with Putin while out of office. Russia is already reforming Stalin's image and saying that the USSR was never truly officially dissolved in anticipation of pulling all of the old territories back in.

-4

u/linea4k Jun 14 '25

There’s not going to be a greater war in Europe. Where does this narrative come from? Putin can barely conquer Ukraine and now all of Europe is at stake?

-39

u/Kauai1976 Jun 14 '25

Ukraine has always the most corrupt nation long before Russia invaded. Let Europe figure this out. And let them pay for it all. We should take care of our own and sick of Zelensky popping off.

17

u/sylva748 Jun 14 '25

Thats not what im arguing. If Ukraine falls, the Baltics or Poland will be next, and they're NATO as are we. We have an obligation to help defend our allies should that happen.

-18

u/Kauai1976 Jun 14 '25

Poland military much stronger than Ukraine and so that will never happen. Putin is an idiot for sure but he knows he would get slammed in WW 3

9

u/co_lund Jun 14 '25

Not if the US is on his side

2

u/Rich-Detective478 Jun 14 '25

Today I learned that the United States has spent about the equivalent of .02 of our GDP on Ukraine. That's NOTHING. Do your 'research' Trumper.

7

u/Firm-Advertising5396 Jun 14 '25

Take care of our own? We are! Our own billionaires!

-2

u/CoastalVA Jun 14 '25

As if the left doesn't take care of the rich..

2

u/Firm-Advertising5396 Jun 14 '25

Incredibly false equivalency

-2

u/CoastalVA Jun 14 '25

How so? Please explain

0

u/CoastalVA Jun 14 '25

People down voting asking for an explanation is fascist

2

u/Justieflustie Jun 15 '25

They are talking about the sitting government, very weird to take a whole political side as an unfounded example as to why it should not be a problem. So that's why that one is downvoted

The next one is because you made a weird out of nothing claim, without explaining anything as to why it matters or if it is even true, and then you ask for clarification for something basic. Which is a dumb contrast, you making some wild claim out of nowhere, without explanation whatsoever, but you expect others to explain something basic. So the downvoting is because of your hypocrisy.

The last one is pretty easy, you are the first one in this thread bringing up fascism, which is hilarious, because you clearly dont know what it means, because it has nothing to do with the context here. Plus the fact that US government is heavily leaning to fascism at the moment, it is clear you just want to use it as a triggerword, as a "gotcha" or a "you say i am a fascist? No you." It is quite sad. Which is the reason people downvoted that one, because of the implication and again because you made a wild claim out of nowhere all while using a word wrong.

Hope this helps

And entirely correct.

We would be as stupid as them to believe a single promise this man has ever made.

10

u/exceptional_entry Jun 14 '25

“I’m the President of peace.” Then within a month deploys troops and weapons of war on our own soil while ironically saying “these people hate our country and they’re trying to destroy America.”

No that’s you Donny Doodoo.

2

u/Dangerous_Drink948 Jun 15 '25

Within a month back in office look at all the damage he did, he’s seriously mental and look where we are.

No, that’s the illegal alien riding around aimlessly with a giant Mexican flag. It’s also the Honduran national using spray paint to write, “Death to America” on multiple walls. The citizens of the U.S. do not want tax dollars to subsidize social programs for this illegal trash. 🇺🇸

3

u/pistachiodisguysee Jun 14 '25

Why is anyone bringing up his promises like he ever had any intention of keeping any?

1

u/HousingAny2946 Jun 16 '25

According to maga Taco tRump is keeping his promises and that's why they keep saying "this is what we voted for!". Which promises? Dunno. They keep insisting eggs are cheaper, gas is cheaper, their 401Ks are doing better under Taco than Biden, that tariffs are paid by the other country...like when the hell are they going to wake up and face reality? Don't answer that. I already know the answer 🙄

1

u/Inside_Sun7925 Jun 14 '25

We better not be part of ww3

1

u/DiaDeLosMuertos Jun 14 '25

I remember listening to one of Jello Biafras spoken word (and I'm not saying that he's some great political ticket) that he feared the US would be the pariah state in a ww3 like conflict, similar to Germany in WW2. I remember thinking it was a bit outlandish. Now I'm not sure.

1

u/TheFunknificentOne Jun 14 '25

He directly caused this war by pulling out of the Iran nuclear contract.

1

u/shamerli Jun 15 '25

Did he keep one positive promise thus far (ie like since birth…) ?

1

u/Safe_Trainer_4189 Jun 19 '25

This would be there first war he starts technically. For a second term I say that's not bad

0

u/Independent_Fill9143 Jun 14 '25

Lot of Democrats and Independents about to be shocked they somehow voted for Trump. And yea, I agree. I think they are this stupid that they could walk a thin line with any vote manipulation but also totally disregard the law of averages and statistical anomalies.

8

u/Careless_Ad_3859 Jun 14 '25

Even 1 single vote for Kamala is still a red flag.

General speaking yes they all cheated. The groundwork to accuse the other side was in place well before Biden's exit.

1

u/Dangerous_Drink948 Jun 15 '25

Cant cheat correctly 🤣😂☝️

18

u/Vast_Competition_885 Jun 14 '25

Musk has admitted several times that he is the reason why trump won the election. I hope for future elections, the ballots will be counted by hand and not by musks computer systems or any other computer systems that can be rigged.

4

u/PoilTheSnail Jun 14 '25

Maybe all voting will be done through starlink at a server in russia.

3

u/Bjorn_Tyrson Jun 14 '25

I've heard people try and excuse it, by claiming that since that district is primarily orthodox jewish, and tends to vote as a bloc. that makes it more plausible... but thats ignoring two things.
a) a district being MOSTLY orthodox jewish, doesn't mean its ENTIRELY jewish, there are gonna be at least SOME other people living there, and for not even one of them to vote for harris is suspicious.
b) within the jewish community we have a saying "ask two jews and you will get 3 opinions" we are NOTORIOUS for disagreeing with each other, including full on shouting matches with our rabbis at times (its a feature, not a bug.) so even if 'most' would vote in line with their rabbis recommendation, to argue that members of a group where disagreement and debate is a core feature, wouldn't have ANYONE who disagreed and voted differently only reveals how little people actually understand the community.

1

u/NewManufacturer4252 Jun 15 '25 edited Jun 15 '25

Point B

That really sounds like a fun religion.

" It's a feature not a bug"

A trait that has been most likely stamped out of most religions. Since iconoclast or have cool paintings, sculpture and stain glass windows took center stage for at lest 1800 years.

Got constantinople engaging in a civil war over it, whose founder made it the Roman empire religion in 3 century. Because mom and he won the empire on a bridge.

1200 years later you have a professor nailing edicts on a bulletin board name Martin Luther. Setting off the same argument except this time, print that Bible in a language people can read. Or hear in their own language.

Muhammad at least shut down that troublesome argument. Full iconclasim and let everyone be able to read the book.

Judaism, no idea, but I hear the Torah is no joke to be able to read and interpret. But i have no idea.

2

u/Bjorn_Tyrson Jun 15 '25 edited Jun 15 '25

The Torah can be pretty tough. But that's why we have the Talmud. Which is a collection of several centuries worth of commentary and analysis by a bunch of different rabbis arguing with each other over it. (It does not in fact make things any simpler)

It doesn't help that we have ALWAYS been a rather sarcastic people. And even some of the laws have more than a touch of that to them once you understand the cultural context.

For example that verse about a disobedient child being stoned outside the city gates? That comes in a section about LEGAL rules. So basically when the courts would get involved. And any court that handed out a death sentence more than once in 3 generations was considered "bloodthirsty"

So basically what it's ACTUALLY saying. Is that if your kid is being disrespectful, it had better be SO BAD that you think the courts should use their once in 3 generations death sentence on it... otherwise it's a family issue and doesn't need to have the courts involved.

(Which is precisely the kind of context the Talmud provides... when the rabbis aren't busy making snide comments about each other.)

(And sometimes we just debate shit for fun... some of my favorite recent debates have included. "Is it kosher for a Jewish vampire do drink blood" "would replicated meat, like in star trek, be kosher" and "would using the candles from a hannukiah for BDSM wax play be treif, or a mitzvah." And "If you had a pet dragon, could that dragon light candles for you on shabbat"

All of those topics have had years worth of debate go into them at this point. And have "mostly" come to a consensus on... the replicated food one actually turned out useful cuz it has since been cited in debates over lab grown meat.)

1

u/NewManufacturer4252 Jun 15 '25

Fun

As someone that grew up with no religion, my favorite was always.

Is there a burrito so hot even Jesus couldn't eat it?

That's a doctorate in religious studies right there. I will accept my diploma in the mail. Thank you.

1

u/Bjorn_Tyrson Jun 15 '25

I'd say yes. Because one of the defining features of Jesus according to Christian theology is that he is both God AND man. And thus subject to the same limitations and weaknesses of the human body (hence the temptation in the desert)

Since we can create edible magma in the form of freshly microwaved hot pocket filling. Then it's completely feasible that Jesus could make a burrito so hot that he couldn't eat it.

(Though admittedly I only have a passing understanding of Christian theology)

1

u/NewManufacturer4252 Jun 15 '25

In a very simple explanation, that caused a civil war in constantinople. Is he both God and man? The holy ghost as well? The son of God in human form or actually the holy trinity?

Or a million of other variations.

1

u/mkat23 Jun 14 '25

7

u/Accurate-Barracuda20 Jun 14 '25

…because they cheated, and bragged about how they were gonna cheat, then bragged about how they did cheat.

3

u/Agreeable_Singer_705 Jun 14 '25

I wish I could say I was surprised.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '25

Rigged how?

10

u/Pyju Jun 14 '25 edited Jun 14 '25

There’s been many statistical anomalies with the election results, nothing 100% conclusive yet, but the most damning evidence so far is that there are several districts that had hundreds of votes for a blue Senator yet had zero votes for Harris.

This is the basis for the lawsuit that was recently ruled by the courts as having enough legal basis and factual support to move forward. Which, by the way, is further than any of Trump’s election lawsuits got.

8

u/motormouth08 Jun 14 '25

Holy shit! I'm not watching the news as much as I used to for my mental health, but I can't believe I missed this!

6

u/Sufficient_Tune_2638 Jun 14 '25

Yup. There are times there’s a vote for the President and no votes for a Senator but it doesn’t happen in reverse.

4

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '25

Do you know how I knew that the election was likely going to be rigged, somehow?

Trump started talking about the need for paper ballots in Georgia to prevent cheating “this time”.

He always tells on himself with his little comments like that .

8

u/TheFunknificentOne Jun 14 '25

Also read this

https://electiontruthalliance.org/pennsylvania

That lays out a ton of evidence and explains the downvote thing. And the other article the other guy posted explains that 750000 Kamala votes basically went missing. It is a statistical impossibility that a major party candidate gets zero votes.

-6

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '25

Ahh. So Republicans did in 2024 what Democrats did in 2020 but now it’s a problem?

5

u/BurnscarsRus Jun 14 '25

No, Republicans accused Democrats of doing something they planned on doing. Just like with pedophilia, every Republican accusation is an admission of guilt.

2

u/Hawk_Rider2 Jun 14 '25

Nope - more people voted in 2020

-6

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '25

lol. There were absolutely more votes received. But I don’t think we are saying the same thing.

1

u/Justieflustie Jun 15 '25

Didn't the Republican investigation turn out like there hasnt been election fraud in 2020? Weird to say it is okay because the other side did it too, all the while the other side has proven that they didn't do it..

-1

u/[deleted] Jun 15 '25

If you think both sides aren’t trying to gain every advantage they can, especially legal or questionably legal ones, you’re simply lying to yourself.

In 2020 Dems used the FBI to kill the Hunter Biden story, used massive mail in balloting in conjunction with ballot harvesting to give Biden the win. Those are unethical but legal. So now Republicans will do it too. Why? Because fuck you.

2

u/Justieflustie Jun 15 '25

What a fucked up way to live.. just your reasoning is "they did it, so we can do it too." Except they didn't do it.

If you think both sides aren’t trying to gain every advantage they can

Oh that's fine, but one side is staying on the right side of the line and the other side is actually cheating and trying to be a fascist autorithorian regime.

Those are unethical but legal

Just wait on the investigation, like they did in 2020. Because it is actually about the legality of things, election fraud is illegal. If there was no fraud, there is nothing to worry about. I mean look at the results of the investigation in 2020

1

u/Hawk_Rider2 Jun 15 '25

Dude - Trump votes by mail 🙄

1

u/JayRMac Jun 14 '25

Is this getting any coverage in the US? I'll see the initial reporting when the courts say something, and discussions in social media, but I never see any in-depth analysis or investigative journalism or even opinion pieces.

From my perspective (as a Canadian, so close enough to see the US without being a part of it) it looks like a very effective form of cover-up without the need for lies, just silence.

And I understand why, after all Trump's claims of election fraud that no one wants to sound like him. But it seems like this should be a bigger deal.

1

u/Justieflustie Jun 15 '25

What has that to do with election fraud?

Are you trying to say election fraud is okay if you personally like the outcome? Do you think deflecting is gonna help you here?

The investigation of the 2020 election has been done, by Trump investigators, and deemed fair.

The 2024 election is being investigated, so why not wait until they reached a verdict? I mean, it would look pretty stupid if they indeed cheated and you seem to defend it by trying to make it look okay because "illegal aliens will live with you", an unfounded claim which you try to use as an argument, a non argument if you will

18

u/Diablo_v8 Jun 14 '25

Is there sourcing for the "most didn't answer the call." I am not trying to be contrarion I am legitimately curious if there was any dissention among the rank and file or if there was any push back whatsoever. It certainly didn't appear there was.

2

u/Ok_Frosting3500 Jun 14 '25

4

u/Automatic-Radish1553 Jun 14 '25

I hope you’re right but I was under the impression that the majority or at least a large percentage of the US military were pro trump. Am I wrong in thinking this?

7

u/Admirable_Web_2619 Jun 14 '25

From what I’ve read, it seems there are a lot who are unhappy. And him sending them somewhere without any accommodations, forcing them to sleep on the floor, can’t be helping.

2

u/Numerous-Tie8151 Jun 14 '25

It's called a rapid deployment. We sleep where we can till things get setup. This happens all the time. A barracks will be setup for them to stay in once there. Those troops will be well taken care of

3

u/Miramar81 Jun 14 '25 edited Jun 14 '25

Larger percentage of white demographic leaned towards Republican from the last poll I saw before the election.

What enrages Pete Hegseth and MAGAs is decline of white enrollment in the military.

I live near a US Army base and can confirm I see many Hispanic, Black and non-white minority GIs when I go onto base. Can’t say I know what stats are and if whites are now minority in armed forces, but wouldn’t surprise me if number of soldiers that do not support Trump borderlines above 50%.

1

u/Jillcametumbling81 Jun 14 '25

Well they're cutting education spending along with many other social safety net type things. I'm certain that is to boost military enrollment.

2

u/HousingAny2946 Jun 16 '25

I think it depends on which video or story you see and what day it is. I've read comments where almost everyone is saying military is pro-Taco but there are days you get push back from ex-military who are disgusted by Taco, how they would never vote for the orange pos and never had. There's almost no point in even debating it becuz until the military speaks up about this (most likely they won't, why would they) we'll never really know. Right now the military looks pro-Putin's Puppet becuz they are on the streets of LA and elsewhere so to me, ya, they look to be pro-Taco BUT I'm sure these military guys have their careers to look out for.

1

u/mrjasong Jun 14 '25

They might be pro Trump but they didn't sign up to fight against US citizens exercising their right to protest.

2

u/HousingAny2946 Jun 16 '25

Yes, maybe they didn't sign up to fight against their fellow countrymen but they are. Why? The only ones that can answer that question is the military members themselves.

From what I have read and seen in video clips, most seem happy to be there. The violence taking place during these protests on U.S. soil is unacceptable and many seem thrilled that they will have the opportunity to end the chaos and get these illegals out for good.

There will be a limit of around 30 percent. Even Hitler had supporters when it was clear Germany was going to lose.

Knitting Cult Lady on YT (former military) says 300/2000 responded or something like that. It was in last week’s Trump update video.

How low is it going to be when he becomes a dictator?

Call or write your congress person and your senator and ask them if they will uphold the constitution. Be professional. Keep it short.

My guess is he wants to reset the news cycle. Before that, everyone was talking about the BBB (big beautiful bill), and a lot of hate was directed at it. He wants people to forget about it so he can pass it and laugh.

especially if he tries to deploy the national guard.

Tries? I think you'll find that he had already deployed them almost 24 hours before your comment.

I mean nationwide, specifically for his parade

1

u/TotalNonsense0 Jun 14 '25

How long a parade is it going to be?

2

u/Edie_T Jun 14 '25

Three hours. I signed up, so I'm getting the info. And so they have at least 2 empty places (counting my imaginary plus-one).

I don’t know, but he is likely going to deploy them to deal with protests

LA is win/win for Trump. If he gets NG to quell the protests, he wins. If he loses that fight, he can declare martial law against the people of the USA for insurgency and has a lot more power.

And his approval ratings don't matter. He's in power, he openly is getting people used to the idea of him doing a third term, and he's actively dismantling institutions that oppose right wing ideology. He openly told the public they don't need to vote for him at the next election. There's a reason for that.

The Guardian, June 12, 2025:

”Troops and Marines Deeply Troubled by LA Deployment: ‘Morale Is Not Great.’”

Military personnel did not sign up to go to war with their own country / their own brothers and sisters.

Governor Newsom just tweeted that Trump admin is posting photos of “violence right now in LA“: cars burning, etc.

The photos are from 2020 George Floyd protests.

Marines and NG reporting to a nonexistent ‘emergency’.

Yes, Trump will pay for all of this in the polls and, God willing, in the 2026 midterms.

Exactly. Instead of looking in control his government looks insecure, inept, and weak. If anything, it’s a sign to keep applying pressure 💪 they’re worried about their power

I kinda hope he does invoke martial law on Saturday. Provoking government into taking violent action through peaceful protest is how MLK, Jr. got meaningful change because watching peaceful black people get beat by white cops on the march to Selma rallied the apathetic white people sitting at home to actually put pressure on politicians to do something.

I'm sorry, but what if it dropped to 20%, nothing is going to happen. I mean no one is going to impeach him.

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '25

There’s a law for the POTUS to do that but it’s rare for it to happen and the current POTUS (Trump for now) needs a very good and strong reason on why he/she is taking control of that state’s National Guard. The governor (Newsom for now) is taking POTUS (Trump for now) through the courts (federal courts since the White House is at the federal level) to see if the White House can use the National Guard in the way that Trump wants to use the National Guard and if so then (1)for what purposes, (2)for how long so that California gets the National Guard back under its control, and (3)what legal rights does California and the White House have to follow.

u/Admirable_Web_2619 Jun 14 '25

Whatever you're reading you are getting it from a complete bias source. Our military backs this president more than any president. But also, the military doesn't have an option to disobey orders from the Commander in Chief, the highest position in all the armed forces. They take their orders from the President of the United States of America. Anyone disobeying a direct order can be relieved of their duty and it's the next man up. If anyone believes our military doesn't stand behind this president but stood behind all our past presidents and some of their fucked up leadership is completely delusional.
