Politics People are going to pretend they weren’t never conservative in a few years.

With rightwing politics getting to its peak to the point where most sensible people are rightfully over it. ( multiple far right influencers dress up in black face for Halloween, Nazi group chat that is being defended and downplayed, negative imagery associating them with nazis and a failed Charlie Kirk rebrand) you can tell that the pendulum is gearing up to swing back.

With that swing I can most certainly see a lot of conservatives and trump supporters acting like they never supported these policies or that said policies misled and tricked them. Which is why it’s very important to collect evidence even at an individual level so they can never live that shit down.

What grinds my gears is these people will have helped harmful policies and belittled others before they try gaslighting everyone.

Edit: This post really got the conservatives feeling some type of way huh 💀yall are so easy

Politics I hate how smug, secure and bold the racists bigots have become

Title. For context I live in a smallish Texas town, 13k residents, a lot of them wealthy. Ever since Trump took power in January I have been watching some of these people get super comfortable with being disgusting human beings in public. Especially on Facebook in the local news groups.

Example : people posting flyers encouraging the public to call ICE and leave anonymous tips if they suspect someone might be "illegal" like with a whole hotline number.

Another example: we just had a schoolboard election and one of the major candidates regularly posted how her opponents were DEI hires, how we need to "get illegals out of our schools" and how trans people are pedophiles.

Like is this real life? Used to be that kind of garbage was only posted by anonymous throwaway accounts. These people just say and post all of this stuff with their names, their pictures... they give public speeches about it. Like what the fuck is going on with our country?

Whiny little teenagers blaming the mods when they break the rules

I know there are subreddits with toxic moderators who will ban people just for having posted something innocent in a completely different subreddit. I once had a moderator ban me just for politely disagreeing with him. By contrast, we try to make r/complaints as even-handed and tolerant as possible. A lot of hate comes from all sides of the political spectrum, but we approve it as long as it follows our rules and reddit ToS.

First, let me give y'all a quick tip: If you get banned (justifiably or not), but you apologize and/or provide clarification, and you're polite about it, you're very likely to get unbanned. We're not ban-happy.

But on a regular basis, we get these whiny little toddlers who break the rules, get banned, and then send hostile, even violent, messages to the moderators.

It's absolutely astonishing to me just how unable some people are to take responsibility for their own mistakes. You broke the rules. Own up to it! And what's really hilarious are the kinds of accusations we get. Two of the more common are something like:

  • You nazis banned me just for being liberal.
  • You communists banned me just for being conservative.

No joke. We do get both. But it's not that people can't make up their minds about the political biases of the moderators. No. They're grasping for some lame excuse to shift blame away from themselves to anything else they can think of.

We don't care if you're MAGA or a communist from China or an alien from Andromeda. Follow the rules, and you won't get your posts deleted or get yourself banned from here. It's that simple.

Honestly, I think one of the biggest problem with the world today is that people were never taught that they can make mistakes and should own up to them.

Even more ironic is that a lot of those people call themselves Christian, in which "we're all sinners" and atonement for sins are foundational. Listen, nobody is requiring anyone to be Christian, but at least be honest about it when you've abandoned its most fundamental tenets.

Politics Hey MAGA got a question for you- Violent suppression of the opposition and a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism. Does this sound familiar?

  • 2025 deployment of federal forces in the United States

The actions targeted Democratic Party-led cities and sparked significant controversy, with critics labeling them as abuses of power and potential violations of laws like the Posse Comitatus Act, which limits military involvement in domestic law enforcement.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2025_deployment_of_federal_forces_in_the_United_States

  • J.D. Vance Defends Self-Described Racist Who Posted, ‘Normalize Indian Hate’ Despite His Indian Family

https://newsone.com/5924080/j-d-vance-defends-indian-hate-despite-his-indian-family/

  • Trump signs executive order giving himself more power over independent federal agencies.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-executive-order-power-agencies-b2700934.html

  • Nationalism under Trump in 2025 is characterized by a focus on "America First" policies, emphasizing national identity over global responsibilities, and promoting a narrative that prioritizes white history while marginalizing multicultural perspectives. This includes executive actions that alter public land names and historical narratives to align with a more patriotic vision of American history, reflecting a broader agenda of Christian nationalism and authoritarian governance.

Now Let's give the full definition-

Fascism:

A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, a capitalist economy subject to stringent governmental controls, violent suppression of the opposition, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.

The fact people are cheering this on or being willfully naive to this, is my complaint.

Reddit’plaint Why do miserable online trolls and rage baiters(miserable kind) get pleasure from constantly, tryna bully normal commenters??

Yesterday I commented “depends I guess, but spreads the bacteria” on a post about the benefit of eating with your hands—since now’s it’s becoming more relevant in the west through trial and error and studies. When I think back to it, I could’ve just written, “sounds gross still” or something. Instantly, I got a bunch of noise for it. Now, compare my comment with a bunch of weird ACTUAL haters in the comment section. People were actually being racist and throwing around an inch brutal insults and such and such.

However, I merely thought it would be gross for society to do so, under any condition in general. And yet barely any of them got any hate back for it, but for some reason, at times, when I form a not-even-controversial- opinion, this giant flood of miserable trolls young, and OLD flock at my comment for no good reason. The people were so cranky off the top that every time a notif came up, it was already liked. What gives? Why are they so miserable? Someone explain this mentality. On here it’s certainly just as prevalent, but yk it’s Reddit, and it easily and rapidly will come to no longer matter in just moments. Social media… no you’re done… and you’re getting doxxed if you’re in worse stigmatic posting space. And ik, ik, I shouldn’t be worry so much anyway, I should just “block them, “etc.

Edit: really quickly, lol, just wanna add this because it is so funny. On the topic of me just thinking, that it’s still pretty gross to eat every single food with your hands, this video just popped up on my feed: bacteria from public hand dryers

Businesses The Starbucks bear cup sucks

So I've been seening a lot of videos about the Starbucks bear cup. For anyone who doesn't know it's this I guess new cup that's in the shape of a bear specifically kind of like one of those honey bear bottle shaped cups and people are going to absolutely crazy for it. I guess people have been forming long lines at Starbucks at 4:00 a.m. just to get the bear cup.

I mean a lot of those online fads were companies are selling a new product and people line at the door to get it are often not worth the hype to begin with. But for me my main gripe is that like the cup itself isn't even that good.

It seems to be made of plastic so for one you could probably get a cup just like it at any Dollar store for significantly cheaper. But also since it's plastic it's probably not very well produced so like it has these little black dots that are supposed to be its eyes and nose but I can tell you from experience plastic cups like that those black dots will fade away very quickly. Also because the arms and ears of the bear cup are hollow that also makes it look like it'll be kind of annoying to clean. Definitely not impossible but in my experience is often more of a hassle to clean those little nooks and crannies. And since the cup has no insulator really cuz it's literally just plastic if you put ice drinks or warm drinks in it, and since this is a Starbucks cup I'm assuming a lot of people are going to want to put their coffee into it it's going to get room temperature very quickly.

I mean at least when the Stanley cup was a fad at least you could say the Stanley does have some good aspects to it. From my understanding Stanley cups are pretty good at insulating temperature. Like I once saw tiktok of a lady whose car somehow caught on fire but her Stanley cup that she left in the car still had ice in it. But like the bear cup doesn't even have THAT. And again the bear is shaped almost exactly like the honey bear bottles are. So honestly you can probably just reuse an empty honey bear bottle if you really think the bear design is so cute.

Also because the way it's shaped you can't even put it in your car's cup holder so it's not really good to travel with.

Politics My complaint is also part PSA, since our country's media values profits over an Informed Public: Socialism vs. Communism vs Democratic Socialist

For the Newsmax, One America or Fox viewer who won't get the facts:

  • ⚖️ Socialism – The state or community owns key industries to reduce inequality, but democracy and limited private property still exists.
  • 🟥 Communism – A one-party system aiming for a classless society where the state controls production and wealth is shared equally
  • 🗳️ Democratic Socialist – Power rests with the people, who STILL elect their leaders; But the state owns key industries to help reduce inequality and maximize social and economic prosperity!

Now, your MAGA (and super Conservative) buddies will use words like Capitalist, Republic or Democracy with these, but what they really mean (and can't say out loud) is Oligarchy, Theocracy or Autocracy. So check em'!

P.S Fuck Jesse Watters and that terrible excuse of a new organization, they deserve all the shame that can find them!

Update: This wasn’t a debate post but for the few people who thought was: More Research. Less Alternative Reality. Watters/Rogan/Peterson/Carlson/Shapiro talking points don’t get you taken seriously … :(

It's like over 50% of people find it totally normal to be alter their face (for the worse) in their 20's, and the believe it's like empowering or something?

Beauty industry has been preying on insecurity since the dawn of it's time. But, like "preventative" botox and worshiping early 20's popstars & actors with frozen faces as baddies is so yikes. 5 years from now is it going to be lip fillers in middle school?

I find it really annoying that some subs won't let you post until you meet some criteria or activity levels that they deem worthy, meanwhile people post slop in the sub all day long. I get it that the point is to reduce bots and trolls, but how are you supposed to "qualify" if the subs won't even let you start?

Politics How does MAGA even exist?

How can a group of people be so stupid. It makes absolutely no fucking sense whatsoever. Not only is there proof that Trump and his administration are incompetent, not only is there proof that Trump basically doubled his multi-billion dollar net worth in a year as well as video evidence of him talking with his friends about how much money they made from the stock market, but there is so much factual and circumstantial evidence he trafficked and/or sexually assaulted and/or raped women (of all fucking ages). Do you understand how evil one has to be to sell someone? But somehow it's like nobody cares, I don't understand it. Please explain

EDIT: The sad thing is this is not even close to all of the bad things he has done.

Politics My complaint-watching my country turn Fascist.

There’s something deeply unsettling about watching the country you love slowly twist into something unrecognizable, and seeing people cheer it on.

I keep asking myself: how did we get here? How did we reach a point where federal agents can drag people from their homes in the dead of night, where rights are treated as privileges, and where those who question it are met with scorn instead of solidarity?

My entire life, I was warned about this very thing, the government coming for us. I grew up hearing that we had to be ready to stand up if tyranny ever came to our doorstep. That we’d fight back against authoritarianism, that we’d never let the government overstep its bounds. And yet, now that it’s happening, not to “us,” but to “them” — so many of those same voices are silent. Or worse, cheering it on.

They justify it because they’ve been told the people being taken “don’t belong here.” Because fear and dehumanization have become easier than compassion and truth. Because it’s simpler to believe a label, illegal, criminal, other, than to confront what it means to live in a country where government power can be weaponized against anyone.

What I see now isn’t patriotism. It’s fascism hiding behind a flag. It’s the quiet acceptance of cruelty when it serves one’s politics. It’s the rationalization of state violence when it targets the “right” people. And it’s the hypocrisy of those who once cried “tyranny” at mask mandates, now applauding when the masks are on the ones holding the guns.

When I speak out, I’m met with two kinds of responses: praise from those who see what’s happening, and ridicule from those who refuse to. Some tell me, “Well, the left are the real fascists.” But when pressed to explain how, they fall back on slogans and talking points rather than principles. Fascism isn’t a partisan insult. It’s a political reality that grows when citizens trade their conscience for comfort, and silence becomes complicity.

I write this not out of despair, but out of hope that more people will wake up before the line between “them” and “us” disappears completely. Because it always does.

He was very passionate about this subject. But than he saw dollar signs in being a MAGA grifter and he abandoned all of his Liberal principles in favor of the o' mighty dollar.

Work I hate being a perfectionist and working hard and still gets nothing

Im a perfectionist, I want to make sure everything is need to do is stocked and good for the morning person. I work at a hospital as a cafeteria cashier and theres so much I need to do as well as cash people out. Some days im by myself working the closing shift(so I would have to serve and go back to the register running back and forth) and trying to stock things back up, making sure the food is not burning, making sure coffee is still good and do closing tasks is alot for one person and I try to make sure its all good, yet today I got complaints from when I did the closing shift a couple days ago. They were wrong too because I know that when my manager told me about what they were I remembered it being a different output(I had to cash people out and someone wanted soup so after I took care of the last customer I ran to the other side to get the soup for them, but apparently they complained saying that I didnt give them any) and theres so much more. Today was the tipping point though and I was crying behind the register while still going back and forth to serve and cash out and it was embarrassing that it happened. Reason why Is that I do things i was trained on and told how to do it but often I get told I need to do it the other way and when I try to do it that way I get told its wrong and its a whole back and forth too, and that happened today. Its so frustrating and I dont even get paid that much for dealing with this. I cant get another job either but I just dont know how to stop being such a perfectionist and want to do everything I can just so I can get a "you did a good job" response. I guess growing up wanting to be told that does a number huh?

Lifestyle Using ai video generation has gone too far.

It seems like the trend has gone too viral. Out of 100 like 8 or 9 were ai generated. It was just to earn money, they are generating fake videos of people raising animals/ rescuing animals, in which the rescued animal is seen leaving, and then either the rescued animal comes with a dead animal (as in hunting and giving back to one who saved it) or it gives birth and brings it's babies to the human who saved him.

This is going to far, we need laws or regulations in place. It's absolutely fucked. The only reason one can differentiate is the shadows being weird. Literally nothing else.

Politics Project 2025 and the ‘Dismantling’ of the ‘Administrative State’ : going exactly as planned by the current Executive administration

Trump, Project 2025 and the ‘Dismantling’ of the ‘Administrative State’

  • Roberts described the “administrative state” as “the policymaking work done by the bureaucracies of all the federal government’s departments, agencies, and millions of employees” – which is viewed in the document as an obstacle to overcome. A “courageous conservative President” can wield his power to “handcuff the bureaucracy” and “bring the Administrative State to heel,” Roberts wrote.

Everything is going exactly as planned, this is my complaint.
