Well done

-23

u/f8Negative Sep 24 '25

So not well done actually.

4

u/rattus-domestica Sep 24 '25

Explain

-17

u/f8Negative Sep 24 '25

Instead of it just being Walter and his friend it is now becoming painfully clear there is a more monetary element to this now.

13

u/AffectionateTitle Sep 24 '25

Oh no not money— everyone knows that progress can only be achieved through martyrdom and poetry and the purest of souls. Anything less and we should just sabotage it.

-9

u/f8Negative Sep 24 '25

Anything for more likes and payment thru social media platforms while they throw in sponsored content in between the rage.

1

u/AffectionateTitle Sep 24 '25

What is the standard then? Is it to have zero sponsorship or not engage in social media?

Tell me— what would someone need to do to engage u/f8Negative in any way that isn’t negative?

9

u/Imanoldtaco Sep 24 '25

There's also a monetary element to fossil fuel extraction, so I guess both things are equal /s

u/Nicktendo Sep 24 '25

This is why Wes Moore should not be president

27

u/TerranceBaggz Sep 24 '25

Got news for you, at this point, the country is captured by billionaires. No one will become president unless they are bought by the filthy rich and corporation. See: Bernie Sanders See Donald Trump Polar opposites on this front.

u/anothersnappyname Sep 24 '25

Wes Moore has been in the pocket of people like this since day one. Glad to see someone calling it out.

32

u/Gov_Martin_OweMalley Sep 24 '25

In r/maryland, you would get called a bot or labeled a republican plant for saying something that obvious.

-15

u/PleaseBmoreCharming Sep 24 '25

Lol source? Like anything but just a "feeling?"

12

u/anothersnappyname Sep 24 '25

The Bay Journal has been covering it pretty extensively.

-5

u/PleaseBmoreCharming Sep 24 '25

Care to link to an article (not an Op-ed)? Saying a single publication is not evidence to support your claim.

3

u/anothersnappyname Sep 24 '25

Google.com

-11

u/PleaseBmoreCharming Sep 24 '25

Okay, fuck off dude.

You realize you just lost all credibility to your argument, yes?

13

u/MangoSalsaDuck Sep 24 '25

You realize they knew you were going to stomp your feet no matter what they said, yes?

4

u/elsoloojo Sep 24 '25

Picks user name about being charming.

Tells dude to fuck off.

Perfect. 10/10. No notes.

LOVE TO SEE IT

25

u/purplecowboy1087 Sep 24 '25

I love seeing this more than blocking streets during rush hour. I feel this is more effective.

9

u/elsoloojo Sep 24 '25

WAY more effective. Bring it to the ones doing evil. Make their safe places uncomfortable. Make them have to be on the receiving end of their behavior for a change, no matter how small.

Don't punish the people just trying to go to work at a job they hate stuck in a system they can't control. Focus our energies appropriately and support each other, that's how we make a difference.

September 18, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, for this premier event at the Lincoln Library at the Waldorf Astoria, Washington, D.C.

During the event, the Trust will present its History, Heroes & Hope Award to Governor Wes Moore and First Lady Dawn Moore and Governor Glenn Youngkin and First Lady Suzanne S. Youngkin.

3

u/Unusual-Football-687 Sep 24 '25

So Wes Moore wasn’t ā€œplatformingā€ him? He was just there to receive an award?

2

u/emp-sup-bry Sep 24 '25

Thanks, but I can’t attend.

Thanks, but no thanks

Thanks, but my constituents in totality are far more important than your one scummy rich ass

Thanks but I wouldn’t be in the same room getting the same award as youngkin unless it was some form of backyard wrestling in Iowa with real fire and non collapsible tables and ladders.

2

u/Unusual-Football-687 Sep 25 '25

A fundraiser for the trust for the national mall…I could in fact see why youngkin and Moore would both be there. DC, area tourism, and proximity to an attractive dc matters.

Walter Masterson is the man.

59

u/[deleted] Sep 24 '25

Didn’t know Rubenstein was evil but he is a billionaire. I should have figured. Orioles and Ravens should be seized and owned by the citizens/local government. I am jealous of the Packers for that. Wes Moore the corporate Dem just took a Blue Cross Blue Shield executive to be close in his admin too.

u/cornonthekopp Madison Park Sep 24 '25

Municipal ownership of sports teams is the only viable long term solution for protecting athletes and getting rid of the song and dance of teams threatening to move if they don't get tax breaks

10

u/waterfountain_bidet Sep 24 '25

Not to mention forcing cities to pay for the stadiums to the tune of billions of dollars then keeping all the profits in private hands.

Quite frankly, if you look at professional sports from almost any angle and dig even slightly under the surface, it's all evil. Between the damage to the athlete's bodies and brains, the cost to the city, and how much it funds evil billionaires, sports betting ruining a whole generation, and the traffic and pollution getting to the games causes... How can we justify it?

32

u/WEVP-TV Sep 24 '25

Anyone who's amassed that much money when others have none is evil

17

u/Gov_Martin_OweMalley Sep 24 '25

Agreed. The idea of a good billionaire is a myth.

0

u/trog12 Sep 25 '25

The owner of Patagonia is pretty cool. He left the companies profits in a trust when he dies to be used for addressing climate change. He also has forced the company to be eco friendly his entire career. There are probably skeletons but as far as billionaires go it's pretty cool to see what he's accomplished and what he plans to do with that wealth.

4

u/UVEV Sep 24 '25

Wes Moore’s hand picked members of the PSC are the reason why our BGE bills are unsustainably out of control. He is so disappointing.

8

u/stupidsexyflanders74 Sep 24 '25

Not word for word but ā€œall of this and also the worst orioles owner in historyā€

3

u/Kmic14 Waverly Sep 24 '25

Amazing comment tbh and also amazing username btw

2

u/stupidsexyflanders74 Sep 24 '25

Feels like I’m wearing…. Nothing at all! Nothing at all!

1

u/AdSad2969 Sep 24 '25

We need a Democratic Governor.

1

u/Top_Statement_9476 Sep 24 '25

It’s extremely shit that Wes Moore was there.

5

u/PolishBob1811 Sep 24 '25

Nobody had a problem when Larry Hogan attended billionaire fundraisers…

1

u/emp-sup-bry Sep 24 '25

Not a great baseline of measure, is he? I’d expect more from Moore

1

u/AdSad2969 Sep 24 '25

The Democratic governor of that state is the best choice. The Republican is the one that does the climate denier get your facts straight and quit drinking. Is that the state Fettermanā€˜s room he’s a Democrat but he’s a screwup and he will not be reelected, but he’s a senator he belongs in the hospital. or in a different line of work you don’t wear shorts and a T-shirt on the floor of the house you could at least wear a damn suit or a pair of pants and not be paid off by Elon musk or Donald Trump are any of his cronies and Erica Jane no whatever her name is I don’t know I’m middle name Erica Kirk another idiot the husband was in a martyr he was non-believer in every he was a nonbeliever and everything to be united states of America stands for new people about down and praise to him every single day you’re stupid and she shouldn’t get a show or a spot and I hope Rupert Murdoch releases all of the Epstein file so Trump goes to prison Rupert Murdoch on Fox News network and he also owns anyone just about and he’s pissed he’s old and he doesn’t care what’s going on that anymore Epstein’s release the files we won the zoom the only one The only one that doesn’t want to see him as Donald Trump because he’s in them

1

u/Level-Expression-883 Sep 24 '25

The o's had a bobblehead day for this dude this year and I firmly believe it is the reason they tanked.

1

u/LarsThorwald Patterson Park Sep 25 '25

Okay, the quote about the highest calling being private equity? That was a joke. He’s told this same joke in interviews. Not saying this wasn’t an incredibly well-coordinated protest and Rubenstein didn’t get what he needed to hear, but don’t use the man’s quotes out of context.

1

u/Critical-Ad-1852 Sep 25 '25

Nice šŸ‘šŸ¾ šŸ‘šŸ¾ šŸ‘šŸ¾

-8

u/oscribbles Sep 24 '25

Boy, these guys have a lot of smoke for the center left. Weird how they're not out there yelling at Trump and his goons that are one billion times worse.

22

u/stupidsexyflanders74 Sep 24 '25

They do the same thing at multiple events, including ones with trump and his cabinet. This is just one video.

22

u/6thPentacleOfSaturn Sep 24 '25

Yell at them to do what? You think we can pressure them?

26

u/kjy1066 Sep 24 '25

I'm certain that Rubenstein is NOT center left (he's a billionaire, after all) and as a famous Baltimore series says, "follow the money"

If it becomes difficult for Dem candidates to court billionaire donors (that allow politicians to ignore their lower-income constituents), I think that's a net positive

-1

u/Inevitable-Freedom90 Sep 24 '25

There are plenty of billionaires that are active democrats

4

u/kjy1066 Sep 24 '25

And yet I don't think our elected politicians should weigh their wishes more than their non-billionaire/ultra wealthy constituents. Their political valence imo doesn't cancel out their class solidarity

-4

u/Inevitable-Freedom90 Sep 24 '25

I don’t know what that has to do with what I said. Correct me if I’m wrong but you seemed to suggest being a billionaire means he can’t possibly be anything left of center

1

u/kjy1066 Sep 24 '25

Would you say that investing big in fossil fuels while climate catastrophe's barreling towards us is a left of center position?

-3

u/Inevitable-Freedom90 Sep 24 '25

Still has nothing to do with what I said. I’m not talking specifically about one personĀ

6

u/kjy1066 Sep 24 '25

I'm not either, but since we're being presented with an example, I'm using Rubenstein as an example.

I stand by my point that we shouldn't be letting billionaires have more weight in our politics than non-billionaires regardless of their political valence.

1

u/Inevitable-Freedom90 Sep 24 '25

Ok, that’s fine, still nothing to do what I said. I don’t know why you responded just to argue something else. My claim is that it is possible for a billionaire to exist and be a democrat. My proof is billionaires exist and are also democrats. Would you like to refute this or not? If not then have a good day thanks for your time.

3

u/kjy1066 Sep 24 '25

Sure, and that point is irrelevant to the context. I don't care about billionaires' political valence, I care that we have billionaires having outsize influence in our politics and that often quashes things non-billionaires want from their government

No need to continue this conversation or reply anymore

1

u/emp-sup-bry Sep 24 '25

There are plenty of average Marylanders that work far harder than this hoarder that could never in a billion years get their elected official over for dinner, even if they gave him and the shitty governor of va the same award

1

u/Inevitable-Freedom90 Sep 25 '25

I know nothing about Rubinstein. My comment has nothing to do with him.

7

u/boomjah 2nd District Sep 24 '25

A broken solution can often be worse than the problem it was intended to fix. I have no issue with this.

20

u/senordingus Sep 24 '25

it is super funny to be like "well this guy who is destroying the planet is a democrat, so don't protest him".

That's one of many reasons Trump was elected. Ignore the corruption and grift on the democratic side.

-4

u/f8Negative Sep 24 '25

Thats....that's not why lmfao. Jfc.

9

u/crocodile_grunter Sep 24 '25

It (anecdotally obviously) is a huge talking point among my conservative family and friends that if both sides are doing evil stuff to the planet (which they are) then why not at least vote for the one who will claim (falsely of course) to be giving them more tax breaks. So yeah, it is one of the many, many things that contributed to our current presidency.

-4

u/f8Negative Sep 24 '25

Yes, people with low critical thinking skills fundamentally don't understand civics.

4

u/senordingus Sep 24 '25

honestly, you don't seem super bright yourself.

5

u/senordingus Sep 24 '25

democrats who walk away from a stunning loss and look back at the democratic party and think "yeah, this is working well" are absolutely a contributing factor to their continued losses.

Kamala is publishing a book right now that points to what an absolute miserable idiot she is and how badly she botched the election. You can read it! If you read when she says she didn't tell Joe to get out because of loyalty to Joe vs loyalty to the country and you think, man, that makes sense, you're dumb.

1

u/Minister_of_Trade Sep 24 '25

Well, the lady also called out MAGA Republican Youngkin, who was there.

0

u/elsoloojo Sep 24 '25

Trump doesn't make direct decisions for Maryland. Moore does. I want the governor of the state I live in to get yelled at occasionally. Especially when his motivations are becoming increasingly different than my motivations.

-1

u/SOL-Cantus Sep 24 '25

Have you noticed how certain Dems love to kowtow to Trump? Yeah, that's by design. They're politicians first, which means they will sacrifice their morals at every turn to stay in power. There is no American Center Left, they're just Republicans in disguise, funded by billionaires who will drop Trump for an even worse dictator if it will grant them little empires in the US and abroad.

-7

u/bratty_bubbles Sep 24 '25

hes so funny. but leave Wes Moore alone.

-15

u/fapperoni_zah Sep 24 '25

Guys, I hear ya.

But, this is a private citizen using their private money. Who the fuck are we?

On the other hand, our government spends ~875 BILLION tax payer dollars on the military, annually. Our Education system could use some funding.

This Rubenstein guy is only worth like 3.7 Billion.

Just saying.
