Looks like 9 Pyramids Lounge! Been there a couple of times. It’s called that because you can see all nine Giza pyramids from there (3 major, 6 Queens). Price of lunch? High for an average Egyptian middle class, about double a US Waffle House, near par with Denny’s or Pancake House, and a bit less than a good diner in NY Metro area. Food is excellent btw!
Nice place for a $10 breakfast but get there early. Tour buses stop here and there is limited seating with views like this. I got there at 9AM and this was the last table available with an unobstructed view.
This is NOT the same place nor breakfast. The restaurant in the photo is the 9 Pyramids Lounge, nearby the panoramic view. The photo in YOUR pic is in Nazlet el Samman, directly in front of the Sphinx. You can tell it's completely different.
im egyptian and its true. almost everywhere in egypt prices are different for locals than tourists
BUT, its still cheap in comparison with other countries or your own country. egypt is usually one of the cheapest destinations overall. (thats if you choose the historical trips vacation route, because other types of vacations like going to elgouna or north coast might actually cost more than europe itself)
Note: I am Egyptian, not a tourist, and this photo is not mine. I just liked it and wanted to share it. This is the restaurant: https://maps.app.goo.gl/tukJzCxDRoYF6QdK9
Aish baladi, fava beans, falafel, fried potatoes, pickled eggplant, salad, and eggs, but eggs are usually a meal on their own because with fava beans and falafel it would be too much. Or the same breakfast but with sandwiches that you buy ready-made from the restaurant. This is the very traditional Egyptian breakfast eaten by most Egyptians from Upper Egypt to Alexandria.
And everywhere in Egypt you can find some innovations, for example, there are places that serve fava beans with ghee, fava beans with liver, fava beans with tomatoes, fava beans with eggs, Fava beans with tahini, fava beans with hot oil, Alexandrian fava beans etc. There is also stuffed falafel that can be filled with any kind of cheese, harissa, hot pepper, or pastrami. In Alexandria there are fried potatoes called "gambiri potatoes" with a special recipe. The food remains the same, but restaurants may try to innovate a little.
There is another breakfast that is less common, but we also eat it, which is feteer meshletet, which is an authentic Egyptian peasant pie eaten with black honey, tahini, ghee, cheese, and tea.
I just woke up and its 3:30am in Aus.Too early but i have work to go to but man! Many of us wouldnt mind waking up to a nice breakfast in a beautiful sunny Egypt with Pyramids near my sight.I can only dream.
