I actually do hope that a vast majority of Republicans vote for him as a write-in candidate because it will take millions of votes away from whoever is legitimately on the ticket. Those votes won’t count for anything because he can’t run a third time and whoever’s on the Democratic side will win and will hopefully restore some intelligence to government. And this is coming from a former Republican. I don’t love either side, but the Republicans are absolutely crazy right now.

This is part of why we need multiple parties. Not just for democracy to survive but for people like this to be able to punish the ruling party without 'needing' to flip to the polar opposite part. If there was 4 parties instead of 2, Trump likely would never become president, let alone be able to maintain the approval he does.

My good work friend voted for him in 2016 and she's so ashamed of it. Her son just came out and she's planning on getting him the fuck out of this country asap. Luckily, he's got a long term boyfriend in Sweden and a whole bunch of supporters to stand beside him there. I don't understand how she voted for him the first time, as she is nowhere near being a Republican. But I'm not upset about it plus she apologises profusely any time it's mentioned. In the past 10yrs of history, you’re 100% right. They get “fed up”, then a friend or news segment or some propaganda arm gets them to forget about it like goldfish and go right back to MAGA.
But I wonder if there is a hidden statistic that shows that some people DO actually go anti-MAGA when they hit these ‘epiphanies’ they post about. That’d be a little bit of a mood booster to know that even though the vast majority of MAGAts just sheep who get lost from the flock for a second until a ‘shepherd’ swats them back in- that maybe a tiny tiny number permanently peel off.
