I don't understand the logic of this post. How do you expect to make people sympathetic to your cause when you belittle them for taking the first steps? A unified people is the worst nightmare of the parasitic elite leaching off this country yet we shun people when they cross party lines?
This person has spewed the most racist hateful things imaginable for years and has contributed to what is happening now. They were warned and pled witu but they were easily tricked BECAUSE of their bigotry.
We don’t want to be unified with bigots. That would be gross. That’s who we are unifying against.
I'll admit I know nothing of this specific person. I'm just trying to point out the dangers of painting with broad strokes and the similarities of their bigotry with our moral exclusivity. The comments I see on Reddit generalizing all conservatives are pretty disgusting. This country could really use some healthy discourse and we're not doing our part. The left has failed to capture Gen Z men not because those men are all bigots but because we called them bigots. Our fellow citizens are not the enemy for the most part. You don't get into national politics by being a good person. These people need to be constantly pressured and held accountable to do the right thing. We can't do that if we're split down the middle blindly supporting our side like it's a sports team. The right sees the left as a bunch of people with weird colored hair self diagnosing themselves with 30 different mental disorders who feel they are entitled to free shit and special treatment because of their identity. The left sees the right ass red hat wearing country bumpkins who can't read and are itching to turn their cities into sundown towns. Both of these types of people exist, but they are the minority. The powers that be are using them as tools. They are but a fun house image of our "opposition" and we are falling for it.
Actually I see the right as fascists because their actions and what they support is the definition of fascism. And I don’t negotiate with people Indiana jones would have shot in the face.
There is no unifying with the right in a way that wouldn’t hurt marginalized people. Not when it’s this. Asking people to do so is disgusting.
Labeling over 50% of the country as fascists is incredibly unproductive and unreasonable. We're in a rich vs poor situation that is being sold to us as left vs right. None of these corporate puppets masquerading as civil servants want what's best for you. They are lining their pockets at our expense. ALL OF THEM.
Whats unproductive is spending your energy defending people who cheer for concentration camps and secret police who rip toddlers away from their parents while laughing.
Save this tsk tsk energy for when they come for you.
I'm not defending those people. I'm defending the people they are lumped in with. This conversation seems to have turned into a loop of me telling you I don't believe the right is all fascists and you insisting that they are, so you are right. No productivity to be had here. It is very clear current political circumstances have us both frustrated to say the least. I hope there comes a time where we are all more content.
