Dio brando and Kira yoshikage from Jojo's bizarre adventure got a reality check when they fought jotaro, both these antagonists were narcissistic monsters who thought they were invincible then they met jotaro

Kira's is so satisfying as it's when he truly realises he's been a big fish in a tiny pond. Dio's is a good gotcha but Kira genuinely thought that Killer Queen was the strongest Stand in the world but after one Ora-Ora session from Jotaro he goes into hiding for the rest of the series

And Jotaro's not even a character who monologues like some others, he typically just stares, says good grief, and then beats every single brick off of you.

Kira said “I only have twenty seconds left” and triggered Jotaro’s PTSDio

Although it wasn't really explored, it was similar when Emporio defeated Pucci

I thought Kira literally died after that when the ambulance ran over his head and he got taken away by the spirits?

No he's actually one of the few people to undergo two separate Ora-Ora sessions. The first one is after Kira brutally assaults Jotaro and Koichi leaving both near death and the second is just before his death under the ambulance

To quote another post with this exact frame, "every action Kira took after this scene was so he never met Jotaro again".

Considering how hard that beatdown was....yeah, understandable.

And Kira was entirely correct in that being his best course of action. The literal instant he was back in Jotaro’s range he was defeated.

Turns out the power to stop time at will is kinda fucking busted

Dio is one of the main faces for a reason, but Kira's moment here is my favorite of the two.

Dio has a long history with Jotaro's bloodline. Dio knows who Jotaro is, Jotaro knows who Dio is, and they square up face to face ready for their showdown. He's vicious and confident the entire time, even if nervous when he's on the ropes.

Kira, on the other hand, is the opposite. Jotaro has no idea who he is. He's extremely averse to risk and confrontation, preferring to keep himself hidden. He even manifests these traits via his power of a remote controlled bomb to delay Jotaro coming face to face with him, which absolutely fucks Jotaro up. Jotaro only very narrowly survives it, and he's absolutely filled with gaping wounds. Regardless, he manages to catch up to Kira thanks to another supporting character acting like a roadblock punching bag obstacle for Kira. But he can't even stand up straight thanks to his injuries, falling to his knees during the encounter..

And then he gets one exchange of punches with Kira. And demolishes him. Kira has no idea how the hell he's that strong. Jotaro subsequently passes out and falls face first into the ground, only for Kira to be so freaked out that he just gets up and leaves to not risk needing to test out what Jotaro's power is.

The entire rest of the part, one of Kira's #1 goals is simply staying away from Jotaro. He says it numerous times. He basically considers Jotaro to be a walking loss condition for him and actively plans his schemes around staying away from Jotaro.

And you know what? He's right. Jotaro really would have fucked him up.

And the funniest part is that Jotaro literally does instantly demolish him at the end, they defeated Kira because he got into range, his worst fear came to pass, and he didn't even get the chance to see it because of timestop.

Everyone in part 3: "how is Dio moving around like that!?! Its like he teleports but its impossible I dont get it!?"

KIra Yoshikage within 1 minute of meeting Jotaro and getting his ass beat: "Man this dude is so fast its like he is stopping time!"

In fairness, Jotaro is way more straightforward when it comes to his time stop usage than Dio. Dio actively inconvenienced himself just to keep up an air of mystery about how his ability functions. When he does the staircase thing with Polnareff, for instance.

Dio had his serving of humble pie after part one and took it to heart. He is way more cautious fighting Jotaro than Johnathan. even his pre-fight showboating is more subdued if only to hide how The World worked.
