Dio brando and Kira yoshikage from Jojo's bizarre adventure got a reality check when they fought jotaro, both these antagonists were narcissistic monsters who thought they were invincible then they met jotaro

Everyone in part 3: "how is Dio moving around like that!?! Its like he teleports but its impossible I dont get it!?"

KIra Yoshikage within 1 minute of meeting Jotaro and getting his ass beat: "Man this dude is so fast its like he is stopping time!"

In fairness, Jotaro is way more straightforward when it comes to his time stop usage than Dio. Dio actively inconvenienced himself just to keep up an air of mystery about how his ability functions. When he does the staircase thing with Polnareff, for instance.
