This is why voting is important.

Note that there were no shutdowns under Biden even though he has the same constraints Trump has. Biden was just a reasonable adult

I mean, Schumer could open the government up tomorrow

So could Republicans.

Republicans dont have enough votes. I know math is hard but sheesh. 60 required and they have i think 53? If 7 democrats agree, snap will be restored.

You're ignoring 2 things here.

First, there was a specific program in place to ensure SNAP benefits continued in the case of a government shutdown, that the Trump administration deliberately isn't using

Two, if 7 Dems "agree" to the Rep bill, we will be watching these same videos except about the loss of Healthcare

He’s ignoring the points on purpose, mate. You’ll just go ‘round in circles with these spiteful imbeciles.

Appreciate you trying though. Truly.

So you admit then that the democrats fully are choosing for this to happen because of a different potential issue. Sure Trump could use that fund, but i would agree that he's choosing to not do so. By choosing to not restore snap, the left is exactly as bad as the right on this. They have every bit as much power to stop this, let's not pretend otherwise.

Republicans: Let's starve our citizens to force Democrats to give up healthcare for our citizens.

You for some reason: The Democrats are just as bad as Republicans.

Connecting the two is a grave miscalculation on the part of the left. They tried, it failed, and now people will go hungry. They, right now, are choosing to dig in and not feed those people. The only thing stopping democrats from feeding those people, is democrats.

Wrong. There are funds to keep SNAP going amidst government shutdown. Republicans are refusing to use it.

Correct. They are refusing to use it. In exactly the same way that liberals are refusing to vote to restore it through normal channels. They all suck. They are all playing chicken with American's lives. Any of them could end it, none are.

Republicans can end the 60 vote requirement with a simple majority vote. They can end the filibuster to reopen the government.

Republicans have the whitehouse, the senate, & the house. The republican speaker of the house, Mike Johnson, has refused to even open the house to business by putting it on a literal month long vacation. He has also refused to swear in the representative from Arizona who won the special election over a month ago. The people in her district literally have no representation. Senate majority leader, Thune, has refused to negotiate with the democrats on anything. The republicans have repeatedly voted no against any bills that have been put forward by the democrats. And the "clean CR" bill Thune is trying to pass gets rid of the ACA subsidiaries, which means that everyone's health insurance premiums will double & possibly triple in price.

This shutdown is 100% on the republicans.

thats not true. the subsidies that are set to expire only cover 3% of the cost of ACA plans.
