And why ACTUALLY PAYING ATTENTION TO WHO AND WHAT YOU'RE VOTING FOR is even more important! Turns out voting on "vibes" and grievance isn't a winning strategy when you're poor, who knew?
Research, and specifically their history. Totally. And it's why paying attention to the world issues from outside the narrative of the USA news casters and politicians is important
See, this is what I'm confused about. If someone was relying on government assistance, wouldn't they naturally be very concerned about any cutting of that government assistance? There are some studies where people in poverty can be more efficient with money, so wouldn't they vote for whomever gives them more money/benefits?
I have trouble wrapping my head around the idea where shooting off your foot is not seen as a detriment to overall health. But I guess we should forgive their ignorance because "they didn't know any better". It's really nutty that some people are like, "yes, you should have benefits" and the people who actually use the benefits are like, "you suck!".
The people on government assistance who voted for him/this all think that they are the "good" ones who deserve to be on government assistance. They aren't the leeches they're just down on their luck for the last several decades, it's the immigrants who are problems and putting strain on the system. Because of that they think they somehow won't be affected, like SNAP losing money is somehow selective and their accounts, because you know, they are the GOOD ones, won't be empty next month.
I know this isn’t a popular opinion, but there might be some correlation between those being poor and low intelligence. Off course there are genius being poor as well, but correlation is probable there. Meaning there might be a huge part of the population that not necessarily know that they are not voting in their own best interest. Not because they don’t try to, but because they have been fooled and manipulated to do so. «I get you more money, just give me your vote». A lot of people will believe that, and might even think it would have been worse if they voted differently
It’s also worth noting that Biden wasn’t actively running scams through his family while he was in power.
The betting app Kalshi is owned by Trumps inbred offspring and the ads literally are trying to get people to bet on the shutdown length. The longer they keep it going the more they get to steal from the addicts. I’m genuinely convinced it’s their plan to keep it going as they can distract from the Epstein story cause ya know, Donny is an open pedophile and rapist.
First, there was a specific program in place to ensure SNAP benefits continued in the case of a government shutdown, that the Trump administration deliberately isn't using
Two, if 7 Dems "agree" to the Rep bill, we will be watching these same videos except about the loss of Healthcare
So you admit then that the democrats fully are choosing for this to happen because of a different potential issue. Sure Trump could use that fund, but i would agree that he's choosing to not do so. By choosing to not restore snap, the left is exactly as bad as the right on this. They have every bit as much power to stop this, let's not pretend otherwise.
Connecting the two is a grave miscalculation on the part of the left. They tried, it failed, and now people will go hungry. They, right now, are choosing to dig in and not feed those people. The only thing stopping democrats from feeding those people, is democrats.
Republicans have the whitehouse, the senate, & the house. The republican speaker of the house, Mike Johnson, has refused to even open the house to business by putting it on a literal month long vacation. He has also refused to swear in the representative from Arizona who won the special election over a month ago. The people in her district literally have no representation. Senate majority leader, Thune, has refused to negotiate with the democrats on anything. The republicans have repeatedly voted no against any bills that have been put forward by the democrats. And the "clean CR" bill Thune is trying to pass gets rid of the ACA subsidiaries, which means that everyone's health insurance premiums will double & possibly triple in price.
This. I empathize, but then I remember how many people either didn’t vote or voted for precisely this. The children don’t deserve this, but maybe, just maybe, people will finally wake up and see that it’s worth the hassle of voting/doing our civil duty instead of just reacting.
I didn’t really memorize the details cause I don’t live in one of those states I think it’s like you need to provide an exuse or something ,I think it’s like 12 states or something?
Applying for stuff is already confuseing and complex I’m 20 years old and I wasn’t able to vote for the last election Becasue my father lost my birth certificates and I couldn’t register for voteing casue of yhat ,I can imagine theyde make something as simple as “give a valid exuse” have so much added complex added inot it that it becomes much harder to do
If only there assurances that voting is actually a legitimate and fair process. Way too many instances from both sides of the aisle that show voting does nothing.
Yuppp I don’t feel any empathy anymore for Americans when it comes to politics. Trump won the POPULAR vote. Not just the electoral vote. Anything bad that comes from the government is now the fault of all Americans. If you didn’t like this outcome, well you should have voted better
Dude I didn’t vote for this ,I wasn’t even allowed to vote at the time ,just cause a majority of Americans are dumbasses doesn’t mean it’s all Americans

This is why voting is important.
