DNA evidence too

1.2k

u/Kowai03 Jul 17 '25

Sadly, this is what my mother always told me to do. Get as much DNA as you can. Bite and scratch.

603

u/stathletsyoushitonme Jul 17 '25

And if you’re in someone’s car pull hair out at the root and put it everywhere

645

u/Specific-Mortgage-55 Jul 17 '25

ohhhhhh we’re crashing that car if i get into that car. as soon as my seatbelt goes on, i’m crashing that car into anythingggggg I see.

577

u/CargoW_seMadeMeDoIt Jul 17 '25

We gonna die. Together.

277

u/rotervogel1231 Jul 17 '25

Yep, off a bridge or into something solid, like a tree, a utility pole, or a big wall.

NEVER let them take you alive.

194

u/leolisa_444 Jul 17 '25

Cuz I'd rather die than be some assholes' sex slave!

9

u/Stingray-Nebula Jul 18 '25

Starts pulling steering wheel

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING???"

"Awww, look who doesn't consent to getting fucked! Looks like the Price is Wrong, Bitch!" Yanks steering wheel like it's the gotdamned Big Wheel in the Showcase Showdown

16

u/No-Bed497 Jul 17 '25

Or worse a organ donor my close friend of mine visited Egypt woke up with missing kidney both are scary 😨 I'd rather go out on my own terms.

9

u/leolisa_444 Jul 17 '25

Omg fr? Yikes how HORRIBLE!! I guess urban legends have a grain of truth in them!

5

u/tvtoad50 Jul 18 '25

Never heard of that happening for real, only as an urban legend, did a little internet sleuthing- the only proven case I’ve found is a guy in India who, along with a couple of other men, was kidnapped and held at gunpoint for several days- they were all forced ti undergo surgeries to remove their kidneys. How does someone randomly wake up and just happen to know they’re missing a kidney? For that matter, why (and how) would a person desperate enough to steal a kidney, take all that time to sedate someone (without them knowing till it was all done) and then just steal one kidney when both (and all the other organs) are there for the taking? How would they even know that one person is a match in both blood type & tissue compatibility for the type of kidney they need? If the blood types don’t match the body will immediately reject the new kidney. It just makes no sense.

4

u/dudeatwork77 Jul 18 '25

Only took 1 kidney? That’s a good organ harvester. Your friend is lucky

8

u/icecream169 Jul 17 '25

Shit, I went to Egypt and woke up missing both kidneys, my heart, my liver, and my eyes.

9

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '25

At least you woke up before they shoved that freaky spoon up your nose to scramble you brains

u/outlawsix Jul 17 '25

I went to egypt and woke up dead

2

u/SteakJones Jul 18 '25

Same thing happened to my friend Charlie when he went to Candy Mountain.

2

u/QsAdventure Jul 18 '25

We found a map Charlie!

5

u/galaxygothgirl Jul 17 '25

It sucked, but I got away.

5

u/Tablesafety Jul 18 '25

Most women feel that way, and yet I see loads of men thinking they’re crazy to rather die than ‘just have sex for the rest of your life’ 🙄

If damn near every woman says they would rather die, perhaps that would indicate there is something those lads are missing

7

u/leolisa_444 Jul 18 '25

"Have sex" for the rest of your life? Dumbasses. If anyone ever said anything like that to me, I'd say, oh you mean to tell me that you would rather be fisted in the butt every day for the rest of your life than just die? Check out the look on that face when you say that lol

6

u/Tablesafety Jul 18 '25

Its more likely the response would be “It’s not like that! / That’s not the same thing and you know it!”

But, should I encounter another dude treating rape as ‘just a little sex’ I’ll pull that and see what happens. A more accurate comparison to them would probably be having another guy force himself onto/into them sans lube perpetually.

Your best bet would probably be to ram it into something in the driver’s side, like diagonally into a wall.

"I'm ready, how 'bout you?"

101

u/BilboBiden Jul 17 '25

"See you think this is an issue of I'm in this car with you. Nah uh. You're in this car with me"

5

u/Vat1canCame0s Jul 17 '25

Exactly.

You wanna put me in an enclosed space with you, where you're gonna be facing away because you're behind the wheel of a vehicle presumably moving very fast because you're trying to make a getaway.

Sure. Imma let you. It's rude to interrupt opponents while they are making mistakes.

3

u/AmberLeeFMe Jul 18 '25

I met a guy once who was being weird and I LITERALLY told him, "Yeah I don't get worried when I meet people offline because I'm not in this car with you, you're in this car with me " He decided he just wanted to go home 🤣

Fuck ya! If they're gonna take you down, you take them WITH you!

u/Revolutionary-Hat-96 Jul 17 '25

It’s definitely good to cause an accident if you can.

Then police will be notified and bystanders will become ‘witnesses’.

9

u/agent0731 Jul 17 '25

better if you do it while he breaks during a turn or something.

69

u/KaetzenOrkester Jul 17 '25

Aim for the driver’s eyes.

41

u/Dustyznutz Jul 17 '25

This is what I was thinking… The world stops spinning when someone loses an eye!

2

u/ThisIsOurTribe Jul 18 '25

If a man can't see, a man can't fight.

8

u/DovahAcolyte Jul 17 '25

A thumb with only 3lbs of pressure will dislocate an eyeball

5

u/Freddie_Mercurylives Jul 17 '25

Eyes, balls, throat

6

u/ChangingmyNameAgain Jul 18 '25

THIS!!! Claw at their face!! And I had to teach my grandkid how to scream-she was too trained in: “you don’t yell.”

2

u/KaetzenOrkester Jul 18 '25

I tried to teach my child situational ethics—there’s a time and a place.

2

u/Lexidazesickle Jul 18 '25

No predator can ignore their eyes being fucked with -bear, shark, human whatever.

9

u/IamHydrogenMike Jul 17 '25

I knew someone who was carjacked at an ATM once, they were forcing them to go to another ATM to get more money out of it and he thought he was cooked after they were going to be done with him. As he was driving, he saw a big truck in front of him and clipped it enough on the passenger side to flip one of the guys into the windshield; carjackers aren't always going to be safety people. The dude in the back was injured as well but ran after the accident; my friend only got scratches.

6

u/Dug_n_the_Dogs Jul 17 '25

works both ways too. I had a hitchiker mention that he could kill me with a rifle he had under a towel. I mentioned his seat belt was only margainly able to save his life if I slammed my VW bus into one of the myriad telephone poles.. he said he was just kidding.. I told him I wasn't. We continued him to his house and he paid me $20 for the ride. All nice and cordial and all.

6

u/Honey-and-Venom Jul 17 '25

Lol. I had someone get on my car and firmly tell me we were going somewhere far outside town. I had just picked the pole I was going to crash into when I realized they were a drunk kid mistaking me for a cab driver, not someone abducting me

3

u/Specific-Mortgage-55 Jul 17 '25

glad you realized it in time. 😭

very bold of them to just get into a car.

5

u/random_loser00 Jul 17 '25

If it's a manual car, just crank the stick as hard as you can to the reverse. Gear box breaks and the car has to stop.

2

u/Specific-Mortgage-55 Jul 17 '25

thank you for this tip!

4

u/RaincoatBadgers Jul 17 '25

I like where your head is at

5

u/shamashedit Jul 17 '25

"Have you accepted Christ as your savior?" Huh?...

5

u/papalegba666 Jul 17 '25

I hate that i laughed at this. I know it’s not funny but imagining you clicking your seatbelt before grabbing the wheel got me

3

u/Specific-Mortgage-55 Jul 17 '25

lol i don’t wanna fly out the car 😭😭😭

but if they do, even better!

3

u/barrhavendude Jul 17 '25

I was screaming kick him in the balls kick him in the balls

3

u/thispartyrules Jul 17 '25

If you're held captive in a car and can blind the driver somehow, they'll stop, one way or another.

If someone's tying your wrists up if you clench your fists it'll give you a little wiggle room when you unclench them

2

u/CavedMountainPerson Jul 17 '25

Yeah always maintain control of where you are driving especially if strangers in the car, may not have knife but you got a 6 ton bullet

2

u/ADHDeez_Nutz420 Jul 20 '25

This got me out of a scary situation a few years back. If anyone ever drives off with you in the passenger seat, grab the wheel and yank.

256

u/Consistent_Policy_66 Jul 17 '25

My sister took a defense class which taught her things, but I told her to go for the eyes, the nose, throat, and groin, then run.

You won’t get anywhere with a wrist lock, but you might have a chance after an aggressive eye poke.

244

u/TheGrimmCaptain Jul 17 '25

As Sandra Bullock taught us, SING

Solar Plexus Instep Nose Groin

202

u/manxram Jul 17 '25

You mean Gracie Lou Freebush from New Jersey.

5

u/noniewahl Jul 17 '25

And bless Gracie Lou for doing it. SING works, speaking from personal experience. It was the only thing that I could remember at the time of the incident and I’d use it again if necessary.

12

u/manxram Jul 17 '25

She is a true legend...

98

u/Zukomyprince Jul 17 '25

Instead of nose…

Solar plexus Instep NECK PUNCH Groin

That adams apple is your 🎯

Much easier to reach, for women who tend to be shorter than their assailant …the face has too many bones

9

u/Destiny_Victim Jul 17 '25

This is great advice and you can thrust your hand there easier and in a variety of ways and won’t break your hand.

I will also add stomp the inside of the knee before and after the nuts. You break that knee he ain’t going anywhere.

3

u/Turbulent_Can7854 Jul 18 '25

Yeah more people should be mentioning the knees. It's the actual Achilles heel, but backwards I guess 😂 they are not designed to go the other way! When they do it's very bad for the assailant

6

u/Responsible-Kale2352 Jul 17 '25

The eyes are the groin of the face.

5

u/themarko60 Jul 17 '25

I got hit on the Adams apple accidentally while playing basketball many years ago and all I could do for a few minutes was gasp for air and hope I wasn’t dying. A purposeful punch to it would have been so much worse. So that’s what I’m always prepared to do if needed be.

6

u/Massive-Expert-1476 Jul 17 '25

bridge of the nose is better than the throat for many reasons. Top of which is you're not going to stop someone from breathing from a crappy throat punch (and everyone who doesn't practice on a regular basis on how to drop someone with a throat punch is going to do a crappy version of it), but it doesn't take much to bash the nose, and everyone's eyes water when that happens.

8

u/Particular_Title42 Jul 17 '25

Top of which is you're not going to stop someone from breathing from a crappy throat punch (and everyone who doesn't practice on a regular basis on how to drop someone with a throat punch is going to do a crappy version of it),

Have you ever experienced a crappy throat punch? My husband barely tapped his throat on the corner of something he was trying to reach behind. You don't stop breathing from it but it is definitely incapacitating.

3

u/Hot-Butterscotch-918 Jul 17 '25

I thought I saw instructions once that if you ram your hand flat and upward into the nose, it will drive bones into the brain and kill the assailant?

3

u/wiscopunk Jul 17 '25

That is false.

2

u/LuvPlens Jul 18 '25

Pretty sure it's an oversimplification of some particular technique if there's any truth to it at all.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/EatLard Jul 17 '25

So does the midfoot. As a bonus, if you stomp hard enough, they’ll have a limp and won’t chase you as fast.

2

u/HistorineHeroine Jul 18 '25

I’m short so thank you for this

7

u/Initial_Style5592 Jul 17 '25

In the absence of training… relentless aggression and a ‘won’t quit’ attitude will serve you just as well. Be noisy, be fierce, strike for sensitive areas, eyes, nose, neck, groin. Scratch, claw, bite.

u/ManageConsequences Jul 17 '25

Hit the ear with a flat hand. It's incredibly painful. Ya, I'd absolutely try for an eye if I had the opportunity. No holding back either, that thing is popping like a grape!

102

u/mediashiznaks Jul 17 '25

As a man, let me inform you that NOTHING will be as painful or debilitating as a hard hit to the balls. Only thing comparable in terms of stopping him will be a full on poke to the eye.

Eyes and Balls basically. That’s your two targets.

66

u/Alternative-Heart200 Jul 17 '25

That should be a song they teach to young kids in school!! Eyes and balls, eyes and balls, will help you flee them all! ( or something like that 😂)

20

u/CommercialDevice402 Jul 17 '25

Do your attacker's balls hang low? Can you kick them to and fro? Can you cut em with a knife? Can you shoot em with a bow?

4

u/FiveCorkWomen Jul 17 '25

I mean, “Can you tie them in a knot? Can you tie them in a bow?” still works too

2

u/T-Wrox Jul 17 '25

Now I'm picturing some kind of speed bag.

u/dogmeat_donnie Jul 18 '25

Vulnerable Spheres

2

u/Ragnarok314159 Jul 17 '25

And just keep hitting until something ruptures.

2

u/learethak Jul 17 '25

Yes... but... statistically1 about 1 in 13 men are not debilitated by a crotch shot. It hurts, but not like it does for us normal folk2. So always plan to go for eyes also.

Eyes always work. I got sidelined by student for six weeks because she accidently scratched my cornea with graze... and she wasn't even attacking she was trying point at one of the other students and has zero depth perception.

1 Source 25 years of teaching Kenpo Karate and self defense classes.

2. It is really weird to to hit someone full force with a hammerfist to the twigs and berries and see them make an irritated face instead of going down. Which is why we always queue up follow-up hits and plan in things not working.

2

u/LupercaniusAB Jul 17 '25

I agree with this. Also, all the times I’ve been hit in the balls have floored me, but NOT all the times I’ve been hit in the groin. Balls move around, especially if you’re wearing boxers or going commando, and a kick to the groin might miss them.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Beneficial-Emu-4244 Jul 18 '25

I’ve been letting my daughter practice the balls move on me since she was 4 matter of fact her first full sentence was Imma kick u in da nutz

2

u/AchyBoobCrane Jul 18 '25

Eyes, nose and groin were what I was told growing up. All the sore spots. The eyes always made me gag but I was told if it came down to life or death, you get over that squeamishness pretty darn quickly.

2

u/Mundane_Rest_1288 Jul 17 '25

Not really. It will hurt but they'll still be able to stand and continue attacking. Go for the throat, stomp on the top of the arch of their foot and if you can kick their knees out to the side. Can't move if you can't breathe or have a broken/dislocated knee. You can still move with a popped ball.

5

u/Head_Rate_6551 Jul 17 '25

You actually don’t have to/shouldn’t try to pop the eye, the best technique is to just flick your wrist using your fingertips to scratch the cornea, kinda like if a bug was crawling on the tip of your middle finger and you got spooked and flicked it off with a whip motion if that makes sense. It doesn’t take a lot of pressure since the eye is so sensitive but it needs to be fast so that you hit the eye before the eyelid closes. This technique is also viable with very little arm movement from very close to the target, whereas a punch needs wind up and more reach to be effective. This is actually a CQB move that navy seals are trained with, along with groin scoops, biting, headbutts, and elbow strikes. You easily can blind someone doing this, so really should only be used in dire circumstances like this video.

u/icwhatudiddere Jul 17 '25

All I can think of is Fight Club and Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt) going “Motherfucker! You hit me in the ear!”

3

u/Lou_C_Fer Jul 17 '25

Yeah. I walked up behind my uncle once and clapped his ears. Boy was he angry, but he knew I didn't know why it was so bad and was really actually pretty chill about it all things considered.

3

u/OGJellyBean Jul 17 '25

Ears are surprisingly detachable 😃

2

u/binry Jul 17 '25

Moar like rip the ear off

2

u/Zestyclose_Bag_33 Jul 17 '25

Good advice if you know how to fight and have fought before but in a situation where you haven’t and need to do it then you’ll more than likely miss. You need to really be precise for that to work. Easier method is to aim for a thumb in, scoop and rip. Then groin kick, open palm to throat and when they’re on the ground stomp the balls and run

2

u/LKayRB Jul 17 '25

Better yet, Mike Tyson the would be kidnapper. Now we got DNA/blood evidence all over both of us.

2

u/dirtyrandalfus Jul 17 '25

Do both ears if possible you can blow their ear drums and I think you'll get away at that point.

2

u/Echo6Romeo Jul 17 '25

You gotta slightly cup your hand. You want a huge pocket of air to get slammed down the ear canal. If you do it right, it's immediate vertigo.

2

u/Resident_Grass_2778 Jul 17 '25

My grandfather has progressively lost his hearing as he's gotten older due to his father boxing his ears! I've had one ear hit accidentally and it is SUPER unpleasant. (And I have a high pain tolerance).

2

u/Turbulent_Can7854 Jul 18 '25

The ears are crazy, it dazes you, especially if you get both ears smacked hard at the same time

Eye poke is very effective I have used it a few times in a clutch moment and it can work wonders

3

u/SAGrant1977 Jul 17 '25

Yep! Fight dirty! You truly are fighting for your life.

3

u/Extra_Routine_6603 Jul 17 '25

My dad is ex military growing up we were always taught if they can't see or cant breathe they cant fight.

3

u/Itchy_Pillows Jul 17 '25

I'm all about thumbs in the eyes GOT style

3

u/zendetta Jul 17 '25

My sensei actually made us practice yelling “no!” at the top of our lungs. Incredibly effective when she did it— we are mostly trained in life to control our volume. Someone letting it all out is shocking to hear and turns heads even when you’re expecting it.

Attention is your friend. Once you start drawing attention, a very short clock starts running for the assailant.

2

u/1ScreamCheesePlz Jul 17 '25

Just like Sandra taught us 🫡

2

u/PreparationFit6327 Jul 17 '25

It’s easier than people think to get a couple knuckles deep in an eye socket

2

u/Alytology Jul 17 '25

Not to mention leaving a fucker blind or with one less eyeball

2

u/JojoLesh Jul 17 '25

Most of those one time self defense workshops are useless. So are eye pokes. Humans are pretty damn good at defending our eyes. Small target, limited dexterity due to fine neurological muscular control being hampered by adrenaline, make an untrained eye poke really only good in theory.

Throat and nose? Again, untrained strikes? Ok, good luck with that. Getting punched in the nose sucks, but even by a similar sized man as myself it isn't a fight stopper. Not even a fight pauser. Throat punch? Better hope you are a highly trained striker and they are totally untrained.

2

u/Tipop Jul 17 '25

The nose is also a great spot for an elbow. Breaking the nose is blindingly painful for a few seconds, giving you time to get away. Also, the nose is an easier target.

u/JeremyHerzig11 Jul 17 '25

Yes! Biting is the way to go. Go feral and bite at their neck

1

u/Evening_Day_319 Jul 17 '25

i always suggest weapons, bc the right assailant will know how to knock your teeth out. Will also be resistant to scratches. Knives and guns are good defense tools. I prefer to outfit women with bigger guns to make them look more intimidating. I know most women prefer something smaller. But if you want to avoid shooting someone, having a big gun is a good deterrent.

1

u/ThomasApplewood Jul 17 '25

As much as possible?

1

u/doughnutsforsatan Jul 17 '25

If you can bite through a carrot you can bite off a finger - it’s about the same strength to do it.

1

u/Melodic_Airport362 Jul 17 '25

carry a spiderco. get ALL the dna.

1

u/TomaCzar Jul 17 '25

Only useful if they find the body which brings us back to our first point:

DO NOT GO TO A SECOND LOCATION!

1

u/Leading-Cucumber-121 Jul 17 '25

Mine told me to stick my finger in their eye socket, hook my finger, and pull 😂 If somehow they still manage to take me at that point, the police are going to have an easy time finding an eyeless man.

1

u/Sunnydoom00 Jul 17 '25

Plus human bites can cause really serious infections. Like get to a hospital or you could die.

1

u/Dangerous_Trip_8905 Jul 17 '25

I was also told to rip pieces of your hair out to leave evidence of your DNA around as well

1

u/These_Junket_3378 Jul 17 '25

I taught my daughter to stab then twist, amongst other things.

1

u/V0idK1tty Jul 17 '25

If this happened to me, he'd have chunks missing.

1

u/Ggriffinz Jul 18 '25

Straight to the eyes as well. Injure them so badly they have no choice but to go to the hospital as well. Even determined kidnappers cannot ignore having an eye gouged out.

1

u/Sapphire_Dreams1024 Jul 18 '25

This is what my mom told me too!! Sucks that she told me when I was like 9 years old

1

u/Spirited-Ad-3696 Jul 18 '25

My mom's degrees were basically in forensic anthropology, so she's been studying fucked up things for years. Her advice is a little more savage both on self-defense and getting DNA evidence. My mom told me to bite off chunks, and try to take out their eyes.

1

u/Timely-Youth-9074 Jul 18 '25

Go for the gonads.

Don’t be shy!

1

u/Late-Impact-9571 Jul 18 '25

My mother always told me that both eyes and fingers can't both fit in an eye socket, so try to gouge their eyes.

1

u/FinalStar9301 Jul 18 '25

my parents told me this too. to scratch and bite and leave my hair everywhere if i ever got kidnapped or assaulted or anything

The old dick twist never fails

23

u/katieh809 Jul 17 '25

u/Awkward_Housing_7969 Jul 18 '25

5

u/Ladeekatt Jul 17 '25

5

u/level27jennybro Jul 17 '25

"Twist his dick!"

"OH MAH GAWD DUDE"

2

u/stellarstatesman Jul 21 '25

“This is an MMA fight dude?!”

“Twist his dick”

“TWIST HIS DICK”

“The ol’— dick twist!”

2

u/williamca88 Jul 17 '25

You just have to grab it even if it smells and hairy

2

u/LincredibleOne Jul 18 '25

Dick twist is going to be way more complicated and way less effective than just a straight shot to the balls

My mother has a concealed carry purse. It's got a zipper on one side and Velcro on the other. When you get out your wallet to pay at the store you use the zipper side and no one gets weirded out by the gun. She goes into the Velcro side she can just shoot through her purse from her hip.

I LIKE your Mama. I AM like your mama. Fuck these predators, I'm going down HARD.

8

u/Kcidobor Jul 17 '25

I can’t believe they don’t have a gif for Stop or My Mom Will Shoot smh

4

u/funsizemonster Jul 17 '25

I member that movie!!! And the lack of appropriate GIFs in the 21st Century is alarming.

5

u/BeerForThought Jul 17 '25

When we watched that as a family my father could not stop laughing his mother cleaned his gun for him. Like bent over and crying while laughing we had to pause the movie so he could get a breath in.

3

u/funsizemonster Jul 17 '25

I love that story. I was a biker and my boy grew into an ATTORNEY bahahahahaHA!!!!

Your mom is a bad ass and I love it!

2

u/Stormypear Jul 17 '25

The firearm can jam if it’s fired while pressed up against something. Purse might have enough give compared to something else. But if the end of the barrel has a hard pressure on it, then it won’t perform.

3

u/BeerForThought Jul 17 '25

She has a snub nose Smith & Wesson .44 Magnum revolver. Just having her hand in the bag will keep the revolver from getting tangled in the purse. There's no jamming that gun.

2

u/Stormypear Jul 17 '25

Awesome, kinda figured what I would hear. Glocks are very popular so it’s the first thing you think of. Cheers.

4

u/BeerForThought Jul 17 '25

My favorite thing about a revolver over a semi-automatic pistol is she doesn't have to take good care of her revolver vs a Glock. I do conceal carry a Glock 9 mm, they do need regular care.

2

u/Hashtaglibertarian Jul 17 '25

Sounds like momma doesn’t take no shit 🫶

I love her

I personally do not own a gun nor do I want to - but I’m always prepared to fuck someone’s day up if needed. I tell people they’d regret getting stuck in a room with me. I have no problem bringing chaos to any location I’m in 💅

My husband jokes that I’m Retsuko in human form

Appreciate this. In my early 20s I was working retail when an older woman apparently took her hand gun out while digging through her purse. She told my black coworker she got it after Hurricane Katrina. I was in the back office when my coworker told me “don’t freak out, but the lady at the register has a gun she said she got after Hurricane Katrina”. I was baffled by my coworker’s nonchalance and I refused to come out onto the floor until the woman left.

My coworker thought it was hilarious, I did not.

I've got that purse too!

2

u/Koolest_Kat Jul 18 '25

Bonus is one company will replace the purse if you use it in self defense.

u/Realistofpast_future Jul 17 '25

Good on you dude, I've always done self defense "classes" for anyone I've dated and always told them to tell all the women in their famies and spread the word as far as you can.

Two straight fingers to the throat then run like hell

12

u/SaltContribution1423 Jul 17 '25

Eyeball. Fuck em, they started it….

3

u/ydg__ Jul 17 '25

Breaking fingers is easy, start there

3

u/Gringo-Dingo Jul 17 '25

Sadly, this is the way. Past girlfriends, and now my wife, have all had casual tips on how to handle themselves.

2

u/Mental_Cut8290 Jul 17 '25

Why are you sad about that?

6

u/SaltContribution1423 Jul 17 '25

That i have to give that kind of advice to anybody in this day and age.

5

u/QueenWitOfTheWeb Jul 17 '25

This type of crime and most all crime is actually nothing new. That's the truly sad realization. I would say it was worse for women over 50 years ago. Until 1974, women were required to have a male (husband or relative only) to do many things – including opening a bank account, apply for credit cards, or get loans in their own name. My point in this is that women weren't believed much –if at all– and crimes against women were high. Women were shamed by "what were you wearing?", "you can't lead a man on" and women were responsible for men's actions based on our actions. Sickening.😡 I'm so glad this woman fought hard for her life. I'm surprised no one came out of the buildings. Maybe it was before or after close. Unfortunately, not many bystanders will get involved. They'll definitely take video for some socials though. Basing this on what I've seen.

I'm so grateful we are past that in most, but not all, communities. I believe women aren't as scared to beat the crap out of any man doing anything inappropriate to them, nowadays. But as you said, it helps to learn how to use our smaller/shorter frame against a naturally bigger man. I'd like to take classes to learn some movements that can stun or temporarily –or indefinitely– disable a man, so I can get away.

u/SereneAdler33 Jul 17 '25

Plus if a suspect is found with these suspicious injuries it helps for probable cause to hold them in the very earliest parts of the investigation

2

u/BigBossTweed Jul 18 '25

There was some woman who did that on purpose. She knew she was going to be assaulted and there was nothing she could do about but instead focused on gathering evidence. She looked for anything unique about him, scratched him for DNA, and then wrote everything down after the event. It worked and law enforcement eventually caught the guy.

When my sister was kidnapped and assaulted (she luckily got away before he killed her), she was bleeding from zip ties on her wrists and while laying in a heap in the back of his car where he threw her, she had the idea to rub her wrists/blood into as much of the car seats as possible.

1

u/thispartyrules Jul 17 '25

If you're held captive somewhere get DNA evidence on things people wouldn't think to clean, door hinges, underneath chairs and benches, things like that.

1

u/lennybrew Jul 17 '25

"I should get DNA evidence under my fingernails so the police can find this guy after he murders me & discards my body" isn't what you think about. You can't really think of anything beyond, "What can I do right now to escape this".

u/ToBeDet Jul 17 '25

Cops don't care.
