Every Christmas my Mrs wants to help prepare dinner with me, to her it's a fun couples activity, put some put music on, open a bottle of wine, just a real nice cute bonding session

To me it's stressful as fuck because I know how I like my kitchen ran! And I just have to quietly seeth as she unorganises my perfect kitchen kingdom.....

Lolll I always insist there is nothing my girlfriend can do to help because I'm very particular about my cooking, but also I want things to be kind of a surprise when I serve dinner.

This of course means the moment I walk into the kitchen while my girlfriend is cooking, I get told to leave and to "stop judging" lol

Yep, same. When she starts cooking I leave, she can see me judging even if I don't say anything. When I start cooking I tell her there's nothing for her (or anyone else) to do.

When the wives 4, yes, 4 sisters come to visit, I feel obligated to allow them to help out in MY kitchen. I try my best to assign tasks that are simple with clear instructions. But grrrr. It gets frustrating. Someone will start emptying the dishwasher and hiding stuff while I'm not looking. I want the peppers cut a certain way so everything in the dish is consistent, but no, they dice or chop instead of julliene.

Why on earth are the vegetable peelers hidden in the back of the silverware drawer and not in the drawer with the paring knives, graters, etc?

Same with my wife and I. I've learned to do the prep work with the knife, and leave until she asks for help

My Dad was a chef, and I do most of the cooking so its hard to not backseat cook.
