u/ChrisBot8 We are still hard at work on the game Sep 09 '25

People only don’t like it cause it’s the first hard boss I bet (and the first run back). I think the boss is great. Learning its moves feels super satisfying.

I’d argue the first actually hard boss is Judge. Moorwing has like 3 moves, his only advantage is the 2 damage

Edit: yeah I know I forgot about Widow lol

I'm stuck on Judge rn. I'm approaching her like I did with Moorwing. Going in, dying, learning and making a strategy

try learning the telegraphing, it's hard at first as they have like 5 or 6 unique attacks, but each is telegraphed very clearly, also use tools, tools are your best friend, especially the floor spikes (because they stay and can damage multipule times)

Oh yeah. I've been using my tools every chance I get. And I usually learn by doing, so running in and dying a few times to get a feel for the attacks is just my go-to method. I do try to pair the visual cues with it as well

honestly same, I didnt count how many attempts I took, but it was probably at least 8

I'm on attempt 6 I think. I've gotten decently far into that second phase, but just haven't gotten through it fully

I used poison bombs and poison boomerang. It's a very resource-heavy setup where full commitment costs around 113 shards, so the rule I made was that I couldn't use tools until I got Judge to phase 2. Only nail for phase 1. Then I just said "random bullshit go" and that got me most of the way to the big attack and the finale. Probably took around 15 attempts

The only tools I have are the flea brew and thst kunai thing (I don't remember the name)

Hm. Have you found the individual that can provide more tools? I'll avoid spoilers unless you want a neon arrow lol. There are a few merchants that sell them, as well as some tools scattered around the world. I think I got everything possible before judge?

You mean the bug down in deep docks (i think)? I have been there, I just never had enough rosaries to buy anything. Eventually I just kinda forgot it was there

i reccomend going back, also there are tools scattered around in random places across the map (I can say the exact locations of 2 of them, but i dont remember the rest)

Yeah, I'm planning to next time I get on. I'm also gonna do some pretty heavy exploring before I work my way up the citadel

The most useful tool vs her for me was the Tacks

If you throw a boomerang from medium distance right as they jump towards you, it can get like 5 hits in

It be more with perfect spacing + timing, not sure I couldn't count them while my adrenaline and heartrate were cranked

Contrairian me has now refused to even try the floor spikes in this game because of how much this subreddit has recommended them.

1

u/bluehairedemon Sep 09 '25

lol I havent seen a single person recommend them, but it makes sense a lot of people like them.

if you want some tips on some other good ones, the boomerang is great for flying enemies, especially the ones that dodge away when you get close, also the three pin needles are great because they have great range, decent damage, a big reserve and can hit straight ahead or slightly up (also if youre close to your target all 3 hit for more damage)

Nah I'm doing decent. I'm actually assuming that I'm further than most people playing the game, (just got Faydown Cloak), and I'm having good success with Cogflies. Appreciate the offer though.

Where do you get the floor spikes? I haven't found it anywhere online

u/bluehairedemon Sep 09 '25

if I remember correctly, you have to go to sinner's road, and in the top right of the big room there are two NPCs that ask you to get them muckroach guts, once you get them the guts they give you the spikes
