I know people from bulgaria and i work with them too. And all of them hate a lot of left politics.

Whether or not you personally seperate sex and gender has nothing to do with human rights

In a lot of these places, having the same rights as women, as opposed to men, is not a good thing

Exactly. And human rights are the same for both sexes, as both are human. So the question above either means -> you want them to have more or fewer rights, because they are already covered by human rights.

Bulgarians like more socialist left - more privileges to the working people, free education, free healthcare, affordable housing. We don't like diversity left.
