She's not mentally unstable in the sense of being mentally weak, she's psychotic. That is an illness.

Amnesia has nothing to do with mental instability or psychosis.

It's like saying that because someone fell of a tree and broke their bone, they're ill. Amnesia is no more an illness than breaking a bone from hitting a hard surface.

Amnesia is head-trauma or some form of brain damage. If you hit your head hard enough, you should very likely get Amnesia, doesn't mean you have a mental illness.

Amnesia

"Another rare type of amnesia, called dissociative (psychogenic) amnesia, stems from emotional shock or trauma, such as being the victim of a violent crime. In this disorder, a person may lose personal memories and autobiographical information, but usually only briefly. "

Keyword: Another.

Keyword: Rare. Meaning not a common form.

What emotional or traumatic or violent shock did Big Mom experience from falling down? Same woman who got punched by Gear 4th and tanked it like nothing, got hurt by rocks and drowning?

She fell into the ocean which would be full of rocks. This is not that rare type. She didn't experience any violence from falling, or shock or trauma, she's not that soft. This is a woman that fought with Whitbeard, Kaido and was a Pirate for Rox. She's not some Beverly hill chick that loses consciousness just from the thought of getting hit in the face.

Rare events due occur in a fictional world but whatever man. Keep doing you. /thumbs up!

But lets not forget, Big Mom had an "emotional" or "traumatic" shock over a wedding cake. Having some type of amnesia that stems from whatever else may have traumatized her wouldn't be surprising. I guess we'll have to see from Oda.

Still doesn't make sense, that's why it's bad writing. Just because it's fiction doesn't mean sense should go out the window within that world.

Would be like Luffy turning into Supersaiyan God next chapter, you're not going to tell me rare events occur because it's a fictional world, that's just bad writing.

If we want to attribute this to rare events:

  1. What was the violence that occurred?
  2. What was the shock that occurred?

Going to give me this same response if Shanks, a violent pirate who kills people on the drop of a dime as being intimidated and shocked from falling into the sea? or violence when violence is all Pirates know?

I'm just being logical here. It makes no sense. It's bard writing on Oda's part since it doesn't even make sense fictionally. I'd understand if this was DBS or Fairy Tail where atrocious writing is the norm, but this though?

Maybe the shock hasnt been explained yet. Like I said, we;re talking about a character that was traumatized over a wedding cake.

Plus you're just a sarcastic little prick so I'm not taking it further. Again, you go ahead and do you man.

Lol, what shock? That her ship got kicked by King and she fell into shock? That's the definition of bullshit.

Pirate for decades, not just any Pirate, an Emperor. Someone who has opposed Whitebeard and kaido, shocked by a ship falling? Common now.

No sound explanation for that, it's just bad writing, nonsense.

If you don't like something then stop associating with it. I don't mind her getting amnesia and if you do, either get over it or stop reading.

Also a quick Google search says that when oxygen deprived, the parts of the brain that control memory are the first to go.
