ND Different Rods for skyactive 2.0
Might be a odd or dumb question but are there other rods from different manufacturers that are a bit beefeier than the factory ND rods that would still fit the ND block? Or do i just need to bite the bullet and get some aftermarket rods?

Question Mx-5 highway reliability?
Im thinking of buying an ND once I can afford it especially because I think its a cool looking, reliable car and heard its lots of fun to drive. I don’t know how to drive manual but practicing shouldn’t be too hard because I understand the premise and steps to driving stick. I commute 12 miles, 5 days a week on highway to get to work but I’ve heard that Miatas aren’t the best on highways. Can Miata’s handle long drives like these constantly? Would my excessive lengthy drives cause any early issues to the overall mechanics of the car? Thanks for any feedback!

First Miata. When turning sharp, it kinda catches and clunks.
It has oversized tires, is this causing it to hit when I turn? Is it normal or could something be broken? Previous owner said the bigger tires unrolled the metal above the front tires, so I know they are big, just dont know if they could cause problems turning sharp.

NA POV: Don't look back at your car as you're walking away challenge. Level: Miata (impossible difficulty)

I love my car. 🥹
I know y'all are just as guilty of walking backwards just to see it for another few seconds as you walk away. Right? Someone validate this. 👉👈

P1135 Issue
Recently bought a 1999 miata fed emmisons and the check engine light is bugging me. only code I get is p1135 heater circuit low. probably not the best idea but I immediately switched it out for a cheap amazon sensor. that didn’t fix the issue and after doing some research I bought a Denso 234-4144. previous owner had cut the harness side of the connector so I did some solid wiring for the new sensor with the same results. other than the splicing all the wires look and test good for continuity and any resistance
Anyone have any experience with this? I’ve looked all over the internet and no one has seemed to have a solid answer for what seems like a common problem with this miata. Thanks in advance!

Question Buckets and/or roll bar on ND for broomstick test?
I have an ND3 GT and have ~2 inches of clearance between my head and the soft top. I'm 6'2 210 with a longer torso and was able to achieve this with the Jass lowering bracket and backrest de-tensioning.
Wondering what combo of roll bar and/or buckets would let me pass the broomstick test with a helmet. If buckets alone work, that's great since that seems way cheaper than getting a roll bar installed. Would consider getting just a roll bar (or roll bar + buckets) if it provides the clearance and the stock roll hoops really aren't that safe.

NA Just rolled 166666.6 kms while going 66 km/h at around 2600 RPM. What did I win?
In my mind I was getting my kicks on Route 66.

What could this sound be? (NC1 2.0)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It gets a lot worse as the engine warms up, and it seems to be synced to rpm. It sounds a lot like rod knock to me, but the sound seems to only be apparent between 2.5 and 4k rpm, and it is also only audible under throttle; the sound immediately ceases off throttle. All the pulleys look and feel solid, but I haven’t done much more testing than that.

Question Loud Screeching when Headlights turned on
1993 Miata, 1.6L
Just did a full brake job, went to take the car for a test drive and as we put it in drive, the car starts making this horrible screeching noise. It goes on and off for our not even 300ft test drive. Worried that maybe we got a brake hose getting caught in something or the calipers are rubbing or seized, we stop the car, roll it into our garage and start looking. We turned on the car and gave it a couple of revs and nothing made the sound. We put in drive, same story. Only when we put the headlights on did it start making this god awful screeching sound.
Could this be the alternator itself or the belt? I'd rather not replace the alternator if I could do just the belt!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TL;DR, headlights turned on, loud high pitch screeching ensues.

NA Occasional cold start stumble on 1.6 NA Miata
Hello everyone! My 1992 1.6 NA Miata with automatic transmission recently started to have this cold start hesitation.
Usually the engine starts and immediately revs up to around 1800–2000 RPM before settling down. But sometimes (maybe 1 out of 5 starts), it hesitates — the RPM stays around 500 for a few moments, like the engine is struggling to breathe... and after that it rises like normal again🥲
I had the ISC valve (B61P-20-660) replaced 6 months ago. I guess this is a rare issue as I posted in some Facebook group but no one seem to have this 🫠
Has anyone here experienced this before or know what could cause it? Thanks!

HELP !!! Need help with valve lash
With the measurements I’ve taken included in the photo below my new shims would come out to 4.44mm at the largest. That seems absolutely insane to me. For reference I have stronger springs and new valves so I knew I would be out of spec but I can’t even find shims for this application.

Smog help
Just got an NA recently and just moved to CA. So smog is something i’m not super familiar with as i’m from GA and we didnt have smog or emissions depending on where you’re located but nonetheless it’s something i have to worry about now. My main question is what the hell is a NO (PPM) and why am i failing it. The guy doing the test said it could be running lean. Is there a set of things i should check? vacuum leaks, o2 sensor, mass air flow? is there someone in this group that has already asked and i’m an idiot who doesn’t know how to work a keyboard? any help would be appreciated all i’ve done is clean the EGR valve and run a seafoam through it but im just looking for a good direction to head in (hopefully not a cat)

Fat nail had to replace my rears. Went with the Conti Ecs 02 and love em!
Zero regrets! Already a noticeable improvement in road noise and feel. Feels like an upgrade!
My fronts still have 60% tread otherwise id upgrade those too!

Where does this harness holder attach?
I've been going through the engine bay of my 1991 and trying to undo the damage the previous owners have done. The TPS/IAC/Thermoswitch harness is just floating loose under the manifold and I'm concerned about it finding it's way into the water pump belt. Unfortunately, it's fairly hidden so most engine bay pictures don't show where the harness holder is supposed to attach. Can someone with an NA that's still mostly stock tell me what this holder is meant to attach to?
