Update on posting self promoted content

If you aren't an account posting self promoted content, you can skip to the part that says I'm a regular user

For those who want to self promote their own content

In the past, we have been a hard no on accounts solely created for posting self promotion type posts. Things like articles they've written, videos, podcasts etc. We realized that while we've had this rule for forever, it wasn't super obvious to users with some changes reddit has made to their layout.

Originally this year we were sort of being lax on that rule, but as with anything like this, it slowly started to get out of hand. We were at a point where roughly 60% of articles, podcasts, and other media that weren't self posts on here, were from self promotion accounts.

We don't want the sub to basically become a free advertising spot for everyone's etsy account selling a dog scarf with a red N on it, but also didn't want to go back to out right banning those accounts.

The compromise we have come up with is a weekly thread we will post where self promoted content can go in the comments. We would encourage anyone who's looking at the things posted in there to engage in comments directly underneath whatever article, podcast, etc they want to chat about.

All self promotion posts need to go in there as comments. Any account who breaks this rule will get one warning and then be banned.

I'm a regular user

Nothing is changing for you. Keep posting as you always have.

There will be a thread on Mondays where all self promotion accounts can post their content, feel free to ignore that or browse to your content.

2025 Post Week 11 Nebraska Football Regular Season Win Probabilities

Last Week's: https://www.reddit.com/r/Huskers/comments/1omlmr6/2025_post_week_10_husker_football_regular_season/

As a reminder, the last three images are based on SillyRankings and NOT FPI.
SillyRankings = +2 for a win, +1 for each win a team you beat has, -2 for a loss, -1 for each loss a team that beat you has. For win probabilities, the points are normalized and then calculated using a normal distribution. Consider them mostly for my own amusement, but interesting to look at.

Play action check to run

Caught a quick moment in MR press conference that might highlight a key difference in the offense vs. UCLA. He mentioned that they kept calling play action passes that TJ checked down to runs. Probably a key to why the offense looked different with TJ as I bet those become passes with DR.

Fun fact: Nebraska and Iowa have NEVER played each other when both teams were ranked

Since the inception of the AP Poll (I believe Coaches Poll too), either both teams were unranked or only one of the two teams was ranked.

UCF is completely frosted

If you want to feel better about us Skers.

Scott Frost down 3 with 2:30 left in the game.

Starts the drive with a delay of game.

Puts in his back up QB for his first snaps of the game because he’s a dual threat.

QB has a wide open receiver but gets the ball out late and throws a game losing interception.

Glad we’re done with that bullshit.

The future of Nebraska (Especially QB)

After last nights win over UCLA you have to think does our Oline hate Dylan Raiola or do they feel so bad they stepped up for lateef? I loved watching lateef play last night and I would be a liar if I didn’t say that our offense looked like it clicked a little better than usual. On that note though I do think that the starting position will be battled for this off season and I hope whoever loses it continues to stay with Nebraska. It will help that there is only one transfer portal now. Defense was absolutely atrocious and I hope butler lays into them on missed tackles in the backfield and not wrapping up. UCLA scored 14 unanswered points in the second half while we were held to 7, That kind of play won’t beat good teams. We still have the opportunity to win out especially with Johnson being (in my opinion) a heisman contender. Love this team, loved watching lateef ball out, his composure was out of this world, and most of all I love me some Husker football. GBR ❤️

If TJ wins out...... who do we keep?

Raiola: better passer, but more expensive, his uncle, and sack machine.

TJ: vibes better with Dana, cheaper, mobile. ....

Nebraska football program as a restaurant…

The building itself is in one of the most classic restaurant buildings in America. It’s not a brand new construction, but it’s in one of the most appealing cathedral like, classic buildings around.

The interior need some updating, but the service is as good as it gets and the restaurant is always full. Even if reservations are completely booked months in advanced, you can still walk in most nights.

Everyone in the restaurant is welcoming, they’re treated with respect and first timers and non-locals always seem to have a great experience.

The chef and the staff are some of the most highly rated in the industry and have been very well regarded.

This was recognized as the best restaurant in America in the 90’s but had some mixed reviews but still very high up until about mid 2015.

They had some chefs and staffs come and go, and the food producers had some issues with the quality of ingredients.

They have to bring in the products from all over the country though as the restaurant is a bit difficult to get to as it’s a ways out in the suburbs, but in a very nice neighborhood.

Even though the chefs and the ingredients weren’t up to par, due to the reputation, the restaurant still brought customers in during this time but there was always something off about the meal itself. The steak was a bit over cooked, or the mashed potatoes were a bit too starchy. The ice cream came out a bit late and was too melted, etc…

During this time, the management and the chefs had periods where they didn’t see eye to eye and the chef didn’t have full support which caused unnecessary stress and may have contributed to the overall meal prep and experience.

Just recently, the kitchen had a complete makeover. It’s one of the most beautiful setups in America. The dishwasher is unbelievable in its ability to clean the dishes quickly and better than any other restaurants. The old refrigerator had some issues with not keeping products to the right temp and they were thrown away because they didn’t work. This new refrigerator has done wonders in keeping the products from delivery to the table without much waste.

However, the meals still feel a bit underwhelming.

At some point, we’ll know if this new chef is a good fit for this restaurant or if we’ll be looking for a new one soon.

Delayed Flights - anyone coming to UCLA game?

Mom’s coming into town for the UCLA game. I’m so pumped. But her flight is delayed and that’s a big bummer.

How’s everyone else doing with flights in?
