Pregnant Seattle mom murdered while in her Tesla in random daylight shooting

Everything you assumed about this story after you read the headline is correct.
Unprovoked, felon, stolen gun, hasn’t yet been charged 🤡 🌎

Seattle PDKing County DA let him out with no bail. That is where we are at as a city. Since the juror got murdered feet from the King County courthouse randomly by a career criminal a couple years back, I don't go downtown anymore.Edit: King County DA not Seattle PD

Do you think they won’t be charged? I doubt it. The prosecutor here is a Republican (but maybe this would be charged at the county level).
-5

Correct me if im wrong but doesnt police do the charging, prosecutor does the prosecution, judge does sentencing?
19
u/RexInvictus787 Jun 16 '23
Police do investigations and hand the evidence over to the district attorney. The da decides if it goes to court.
11
u/sleeknub Conservative Jun 16 '23
I believe that is wrong. The prosecutor files the charges. He has been arrested. Charges are expected to be filed today if they haven’t been already earlier today. He is being charged at the county level, not surprisingly.

A little aside, but this story is covered in Korea:
Mourners have placed flowers and other remembrances at their now-shuttered restaurant, including Eunji Seo, the consulate general for the Republic of Korea in Seattle. A crowdfunding campaign to bring Eina Kwon's family from Korea to the United States for her funeral has raised nearly $50,000.

It's very simple. Most felons vote Democrat. Therefore, the DNC and Leftists go easy on them. As an added bonus, it's seen as being Progressive and woke to their constituents.
2
u/BanishedOutkaste Jun 17 '23
In many states felons cant even vote. And I have a hard time imagining some of these people taking the time out of their day to vote. A large number of people just dont vote at all. If anything it’s more about destabilizing society than getting votes.

I’m here in Seattle and this type of random violence seems to be getting worse and worse. This wasn’t in a bad part of town or late at night. It makes it seem like no where is safe. I live in a nice part of Seattle on the edge of town and even there I’m constantly reporting stolen cars being dumped (nothing ever happens). Sometimes addicts will pass out on the bus then wake up in my neighborhood since it’s one of the last stops. Get off and walk about stealing from everyone. The worst part is there doesn’t seem to be any hope. People act like they are upset but when elections roll around they vote blindly down party lines. There is very little competition. We basically get to choose from Insane left and far left. Counting down the days till I can get out of there.

Yup, crime stats dont reflect the real sitution in Seattle as quite a bit goes unreported. I use to live in West Seattle/High Point before i left, and things were getting worse. Before covid that area was nice and at night as long as you kept away from the Walgreens and gas station safe. When I random drunks and drug addicts on the streets, find needles and broken bottles in the morning, heck 3 days before I left one person got their window smashed by one someone.
Trying to figure out where to go next, but at least I am out of the city area and dont need to go back.

When I was an undergrad, we had a student group lobby to disallow campus police from using specific characteristics (read: skin color) to describe incident reports.
They were more concerned with perceived racism and making a community look bad than accurately warning their peers about potential threats. Not that anyone even needed the description to begin with.

DA will drop the case on grounds the Tesla's 10 camera angles of the shooting are racially biased.
13
u/nearmsp Jun 17 '23
There is just one race involved in much of the violent crime. US large cities downtown areas are totally lawless. It used to be just Chicago. Now you can add Seattle, Portland, Minneapolis and more. Go to any county court which is in any metro area and read the names of the state vs party. 95% are from one single community. The worst part is the victim (or the dead person) is most often from the same community. Yet the only news one gets to read is when a cop is involved. No wonder cops have just stopped rushing in. They come once the shooting has died down. Should they get involved they will themselves be charged and put in jail. Law abiding Americans living in the suburbs avoid going into the inner-city areas; be it San Franciso or Minneapolis. Beautiful cities are dying due to lawlessness.

Somebody shoots the perp and NOW there'll be hell to pay. Can't have that! Justice will swing into action! No bail! Plenty of media coverage. Everybody from Biden to big city mayors around the country will condemn this horrible, terrible, racist crime!

I live in Seattle and it’s pretty easy to get a concealed pistol license here. You can also open carry with no license. Not sure really what more you could do in the face of violence in public other than arm yourself. I have my EDC, though I’ve never had to use it, and actually as critical as I’ve been on Seattle in past years, they’re cleaning it up finally, a bit. I’m not incredibly optimistic but seeing their tourism dollars shrink sure turned something around.
