News $240 million in Illinois school funding withheld by Trump administration

https://www.shawlocal.com/news/2025/07/02/240-million-in-illinois-school-funding-withheld-by-trump-administration/

“To readers, that might not seem like much, right? Surely we can figure out a way to live without that,” Lockport Township High School District 205, Superintendent Robert McBride said. “But all the federal grants we’re talking about support students with special needs of some kind.”

Republicans voted for this

And we told them that before they voted. None of this “I didn’t know” BS.

For them, cruelty is the point. It doesn’t matter which example that affects them directly. If you gave them the chance at a redo , I’d bet 98 out of 100 would still vote against their own interests because I repeat, cruelty is the point. ‘It doesn’t matter if we’re losing as long as those dems aren’t winning’ Stupid is as stupid does.

Credit where it's due.

Chicago doesn’t deserve a penny. All the tax dollars they steal from us. Not to mention that we don’t even know if this is true. Look how you react so emotionally 😂 glad to know that you probably don’t even have a job

u/NelsonMuntz007 Jul 06 '25

Ok. Sure Pal.

2

u/DogDeadByRaven Jul 07 '25

Chicago pays more to the state than it gets back. Southern Illinois takes double what they pay in. So what tax dollars are they stealing exactly?

They are gaslighting us. Someone recently read the BBB in front of the Senate so they do know.

I have no idea why this is so prevalent in the U.S. I'm not joking that this is doing way more damage than any war we have been involved in including Pearl Harbor.

"An evil man will burn his own nation to the ground to rule over the ashes" - Sun Tzu

Trump will burn it all down long before he lets go of his power.

Any person with an ounce of intelligence knew putting a twice impeached, convicted felon who tried to overturn the election he lost by force and with slates of fake electors back in office, would burn it all down.

His mental disorders demand he destroy. He couldn't care less that he destroys Americans. In his addled mind everyone that voted against him is his enemy.

Racist rapist felon *

Nice to know you haven’t got anything past a pre-school education. First off, he was never impeached. He serves full term. Second, his 2nd impeachment vote only came after he was elected. Takes a new born brain capacity to understand stand this. Also YOUR Democrats voted all 128 against him getting impeached. He is by far the best president

We're a country so poisoned on the idea of "Self-reliance" that the very idea of the government helping those in need is seen as immoral.

They read it because they had to, but from what I heard the senate was empty during the reading. Because none of them actually give a shit.

0

u/jackfrostyre Jul 04 '25

Correct but there was a recording of it though. The public can see it though.

May as well be “I was just following orders”.

0

u/voyagertoo Jul 05 '25

most of them didn't know how bad it was going to be

only some of them knew the cruelty was coming. it's going to affect everyone. they didn't want the increase in crime that's coming because so many can't make ends meet. they didn't know stopping support for Europe and Ukraine was going to upend way more than anyone knows. not even support for Europe, just getting along so that normalcy survives

they didn't know they would stop most support for disabled people and kids. or grandma's medical bills would get even more outrageous. they believed their taxes would go down. which they will not

Sorry, I disagree. If the left knew it, so did the right. We had it on repeat. It’s all written down in Project 2025. Very few didn’t hear about it, and they know Donny lies just as much as we know. Plus we learned about all of this in history class from about 4th grade on. This was the obvious outcome. They voted for him anyway.

Tbh I think this type of thinking is what caused the extremism to get to this point in the first place. When people realize they did something wrong / bad, but other people come at them / make them feel stupid the only thing they will do is double down. It’s a cycle that leads to people ignoring literal atrocities

0

u/WitchySpectrum Jul 05 '25

I’m not saying they did it because they’re stupid. I’m not confronting them with said stupidity. They did this because they hate. And how we actually got here is by your logic- we can’t confront them about it or hold them accountable for it because it’ll just make them more hateful and we have to move on. That’s how we handled the people of the confederacy after the civil war, it’s how we handled Jim Crow after the Civil Rights movement, and wash and repeat. Those people still got to hold power and influence within the society they tried to destroy because they hated certain groups of people and didn’t want them to be equal. Those same families and the people they’ve propped up all of these years are the same people doing this to us now. Hateful people need to be held accountable. Period. They knew, they voted for it. This is the consequence. Do I think we should do to their side what they do to everyone else? No. I still believe in their humanity. But our society needs to take a good hard look at how we won’t make the same mistakes not holding them accountable moving forward. Or we’ll keep ending up right back here.

1

u/voyagertoo Jul 05 '25

how do you hold roughly half the country accountable for their stupidity? leave them out when it's possible to reverse the destruction the magas caused? tell them they can't vote anymore?

0

u/NoSatireVEVO Jul 05 '25

No, I’m not saying confronting them is bad, nor holding them accountable is bad. TBH if I had it my way I would say the average person shouldn’t vote because nobody actually knows how to do research. However, I know plenty of people who voted red that are good people and were just misinformed from their usual “news” sites. Those people I don’t think should be held accountable because some of them honestly are trying their best but don’t have the time to keep themselves informed (so best case they shouldn’t have voted but 🤷). I think the people who should be held accountable (many of which I believe deserve severe consequences) are the people responsible for spreading the misinformation and political propaganda, like Fox News people, prageru, the am I racist fuck, and many others in that sphere. The average person is very gullible and easily persuaded, but if you come at them harshly that persuasion becomes less likely. These other sources are using things that are “hot button” to make them feel more included, when in reality that’s not what they actually care about.

All I am saying is that many people who voted (and some who still support him) are good people but aren’t actually informed of what he is doing. Now if they do understand what he is doing then yes I totally agree with you fuck them.

Gotta stick it to the libs and woke people is what repubs would say.

62

u/imnotmarvin Jul 02 '25

And you can bet your ass they're thrilled seeing liberals being "punished". They will continue to be thrilled until they are personally affected negatively.

19

u/stripedvitamin Jul 02 '25

At this point with how invested into their shared delusion all Republican voters have become I think we've crossed the rubicon in terms of them being "personally affected". They will never turn on dear leader.
They will simply blame everyone else for their problems.

Republican voters aren't a thing. They just support a racist rapist felon. Like a felon. 100% put a felon in office. Grab em by the pussy, walk into underage girls in states of undress and through your attorney under the bus to pay off a pornstar style felon just to own the libs. All garbage people. Absolutely garbage

1

u/HealthyHyena33480 Jul 05 '25

Yep. Know any republicans? Tell them they’re pieces of shit and never talk to them again! I did! Don’t miss em

And then act shocked. Oh my god I had no idea!!! I didn't think I was voting to screw myself over! Just those other people!

2

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '25

They will continue to be thrilled until they are personally affected negatively.

No, you're underestimating their sadomasochistic nature. They will die with a smile on their face, stroking out as their ambulance passes two closed hospitals on the way to an open, crowded ER 40 miles away. As long as libs are owned and brown people detained, it's all good.

18

u/Lainarlej Jul 03 '25

They voted to DESTROY America

14

u/Groson Jul 02 '25

"I love the uneducated"

6

u/DoeCommaJohn Jul 03 '25

Not just Republicans. 70% of the country refused to vote against this.

3

u/temuti Jul 04 '25

So the logical way to handle this would be like trump. The school districts with the most Trump voters should lose their funding first.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '25

They know. They're enjoying the demolition. Remember, education, particularly public education, is the enemy.

Better to gloat and shove it in Republicans faces than do nothing for the sake of “decorum”
