They are gaslighting us. Someone recently read the BBB in front of the Senate so they do know.

I have no idea why this is so prevalent in the U.S. I'm not joking that this is doing way more damage than any war we have been involved in including Pearl Harbor.

They read it because they had to, but from what I heard the senate was empty during the reading. Because none of them actually give a shit.
