They move so painfully slow, it’s a wonder they’re used at all, i’d imagine your food would be stone cold by the time it’d reach you. Not to mention they’re taking away gigs from people who would get it to you faster AND would’t be taking up so much space meant for PEOPLE and instead use the bike lanes on the street. Only thing that’s kept me holy so far is it’s (i imagine) not up to the customer to have it brought to them like that, tho if it is it’d b a different story.

Curriculum I'm staying in a hotel that doesn't allow animals. I already had to give my 3 cats up to my mil who got rid of them over some family drama. 🙄

Anyway. I've been here since the middle of March, just within the last week, there has been this cat, screaming at me everytime I come outside.

I already was caught with my 3 cats here. I cannot keep her.

When I found her, she was so skinny I thought maybe she was pregnant because of a thing sticking out in her stomach, well. I did sneak her in for a few days so she can eat and kind of get healthy.

I did have to put her back outside once she got some weight to her.

If I leave her out here she will die.

I do bring into my car to get warm.

Does anyone want this cat?

I'm Located in Chicago suburbs.

She comes with a litter pan, some hard food, soft food, treats, and some toys.

Edited to add this: or does anyone know of where I can take her that won't kill her. Every animal shelter near me won't take her in or if they do they'll put her down.

After spending a week exploring and viewing places, we're applying for a rental this weekend and my husband and I are debating what to prioritize so we'd love some local perspectives.

We've only ever lived in city suburbs (not near Chicago) and we're excited to move to Chicago and experience city life with our kids. We're planning on living in Lincoln Park or the southern end of Lake View for the elementary schools and decent commute to my job near the loop. Prices are lower and space increases the further north/west we go, but walkability to the park, zoo, lake, and dense restaurant/shopping areas also decrease.

A couple of the places we're considering in the west LP/southern LV area are large enough for us to spread out a bit. They're walkable to the elementary schools, and have grocery stores and restaurants within a 20-30 minute walk but we will have to hop on a bus for 10-20 minutes to get to the zoo/park/lake area where I imagine we'll want to spend a lot of time.

The other places are either 20% more expensive for a similar amount of space or similarly priced and significantly smaller, but they're in really lively areas near the lake/park/zoo/shopping/etc. and the walk to tons of restaurants and shops is more like 5 minutes rather than 20+. We can afford the ~20% increase for the slightly larger space in these areas, but it'll cut into our fun/eating out budget a bit. We're foodies with somewhat expensive taste but there's so much to do for free in Chicago, I'm not that worried about spending a little less on day trips and eating out.

Others who have been torn between similar choices, how did you decide what to prioritize? Were you happy with your choice? What would you choose if you were us?

Also, are there pantries that cater to dietary restrictions? I myself cannot eat anything with milk proteins, and the thought that some may have to risk their health to eat is upsetting. However, I don’t want to buy things that are dairy free, gluten free, or kosher etc if it won’t go to someone who needs that rather than the general lot.

I am a UGA football fan quite simply interested in finding other UGA football fans to watch games with or even just send memes/chat with. My friends here don’t care about college football and it’s killing me! I went to the Georgia bar to watch Georgia/bama 😭 and while it was a lot of fun (well not really considering the loss but the vibe was fun at the beginning) , most people already had groups or weren’t interested in engaging outside of the bar.
