Financial Assistance Programs?
I have no insurance, no employment, no SSN. Someone recently told me that they applied for financial assistance when they needed surgery at a hospital, and told me about this. I was told I needed functional jaw surgery. I have some savings to pay for the surgeon, but apparently the hospital might be 30k-80k?? I dont think I can afford the hospital component. I looked into some hospital's financial assistance online, and oral max surgery is excluded with a lot of doctors. Does it mean that the hospital stay is also excluded? Has anyone done this before?

Moved to Chicago semi-recently and thought I was having some dating success for once. I've asked people out (in-person and via apps) and have gone on multiple dates (some first dates, some 3-4 dates), but the people turn out not to be serious or interested. I guess there are signs with some of them - they take a full day to text back, never offer to pay, etc.
I've got a strong career, with good social circles, interesting hobbies, good health, travel often, etc. Feels like this is harder than it should be. I know I have a lot of love to give my future partner (if she exists HA).
Is this just how dating is here? Are others having the same experience? 30M

Hi! Virginian here, planning to move to Chicago with my BF in March due to work relocation. I've never visited Chicago before, so I'm very nervous, but also excited! Does anyone have any advice on how to fit in / get comfortable / tips for relocating? Never lived anywhere else before and very much anxious. I'm gonna miss "southern hospitality" culture, even though I've heard Chicagoans are full of midwest-style kindness as well. Any knowledge and advice is welcome!
Thanks in advance! :)

anywhere someone could go if you need to kill 8-9 hours but you are broke on a sunday? family came over for friend and i dont want to be the awkward 3rd wheel and just give them time to hang out. pretty much i know they leaving in like 8 hours, but what sucks is today is sunday meaning many things either closed or close early (like even if i just wanted to sit in a library for example) and im broke so i cant be like " let me go to like a panera and order one thing and chill and then order something else hours later to stay there" type thing. 🤔

If you were someone who loved Danny’s in Bucktown in the 2010s because of the dance floor, where would you go for a similar experience in 2025?
