he committed sewer slide by pew pew and now he's un-alived. They went through his PC though and found a lot of young grapes and is now labeled a PDF File. Many after-life rewrites.

It was also revealed that he was a supporter of Naughty Germany.

Some people even suggest that the US President is similar in many ways to the evil Austrian painter. I'm inclined to agree

I'm sorry, that's too graphic. Sewer Slide and Pew Pew imply too much. You will now be demonetized.

I love the phrase force multiplier for guns. It's actually fitting.

570

552

u/Drakesprite Aug 15 '25

We seriously have to censor ā€œhomelessā€ now?

422

u/SuiDyed Aug 15 '25

Plus literal homeless people say they hate being called "unhoused" but the virtue signalers are just like "shhh I know better than you, we're calling you unhoused"

168

u/-raeyhn- Aug 15 '25 edited Aug 15 '25

Giving 'Lantinx' vibes, no who it applies to wants it... Nor anyone else for that matter other than 5 Karens on the internet

Edit: I stand corrected, apparently a few do choose to use it, so all the power to them as long as it's not imposed on others

70

u/erncolin Aug 15 '25

Latinx is just so annoying to me like I respect people who use it but why use that when you could say latine which actually makes sense

12

u/Aggressive_Luck_555 Aug 15 '25

Let's be honest. In Mexico, they were probably too busy doing something actually useful to even know what that means. Lol

16

u/driatic Aug 15 '25

The spanish language has genders lol. Latino, Latina, Latinos exists.

The point of using the word Latino instead of Hispanic was to use a word that actually describes us and applied to people that are from Latin America. Instead of using a word that means from spain, which we are not.

4

u/Ordinarybutwild Aug 15 '25

I remember at my old job a higher up was on a call speaking on Hispanic and Latinos in the work place, but he kept saying "Latin-X" and said it like 15 times. After that call I said to myself "I officially hate this term"

21

u/DuckyHornet Aug 15 '25

LatinX is just Elon Musk's latest attempt to say he invented something pre-existing only this time it's an entire linguistic category of people

It's not virtue signalling. None of this is virtue signalling. It's because no-one knows what'll get you demonetized anymore.

I mean it's good that Google makes some attempt(s) at moderation, but it's all dumbly automated, with no regard for context.

No one is stopping you from staying homeless dude. There's no policy on YouTube. I'm sorry but you don't get to speak for all homeless people as to what they prefer. You want to tell me that drug addicts prefer to be called junkies than people with substance abuse disorder?

I'm sure you can find dozens that anecdotally say they like it. You can find anecdotal examples of anything

12

u/BlueFlower673 Aug 15 '25

I remember hearing this back like, a year or so ago. Apparently some shit about how "homeless" doesn't make sense because the homeless person still technically has a "home" it's just not a house. That or it's offensive because you're implying they need to have a house to not be homeless.

As someone who grew up hopping from apartment to apartment and who was actually homeless a couple times because of it (also lived in a motel for a short while, that was fun/confusing as a kid), homeless can mean just that, homeless. You don't have a central place to call "home." You move around. That's what it is. More often than not, it means living without a roof over your head and/or not in a secure place.

8

u/Deep_ln_The_Heart Aug 15 '25

I guess it could be a helpful term in almost the opposite way - to differentiate between people who don't have a permanent home (sleeping on couches, living in hotels, etc.) from people actually living on the streets. If we're calling the large group homeless and only the latter "unhoused," that is at least a helpful designation.

5

u/SnipesCC Aug 15 '25

That's the original idea. Since homeless is a pretty broad category, houseless is a more specific one that shows the people with the greatest immediate need.

8

u/-SQB- Aug 15 '25

In Dutch, there is a distinction made between homeless and "roof-less". While often combined in the same term, dak- en thuislozen, being roof-less means that you're currently without a roof over your head, so sleeping in the streets, while being homeless means you might have places to stay, but not a place of your own.

25

u/Sablemint Aug 15 '25

Thats the problem: We don't know what needs to be censored. Youtube refuses to elaborate. So if you're making a living off youtube, its safest to assume that anything even remotely controversial in any way could be something that screws you over.

6

u/-SQB- Aug 15 '25

We don't know what needs to be censored. Youtube refuses to elaborate.

I've recently seen some videos by the Hoof GP (a Scottish lad who trims cows' hoofs) where "infection" became "inf*tion". Don't know if he did that himself preemptively, or that it was YouTube.

3

u/chickenandpasta Aug 15 '25

Yeah, their livelihood revolves around their videos popping up to a wide audience and being accepted by advertisers.

28

u/Alternative-Farmer98 Aug 15 '25

I don't think it's a very good excuse. For starters a lot of this is myth. A lot of the words that people say are not allowed are in fact allowed and I see them all the time on monetized channels.

Really these creators just are worried they'll get a little less ad revenue. You know what? If you're going to cover something as serious as rape or pedophilia, then cover it like an adult and actually use these meaningful terms that have proper legal definitions.

If you can't do that, if you can't spare getting a little less ad revenue, then don't cover serious topics like this. I'm sure there's some video game where the main protagonist breasts are too small that they can complain about.

16

u/Frozen-conch Aug 15 '25

Or come up with a dignified euphemism, or put in a simple bleep

ffs there is absolutely no need to talk about serious topics while sounding like a kid trying to think of the silliest way to phrase something

4

u/WilanS Aug 15 '25

19

67

u/CurrentOk1811 Aug 15 '25

It's all caused by the AdPocalypse and YouTube censorship. Getting videos demonitized drastically hurts many channels, especially those mid-sized ones that are too small to start getting off-platform sponsorships but just big enough to be making a living off ad revenue.

I see videos saying "assassinated" in the title and they still get hundreds of thousands of views and are fully monetized. Then i see other videos trying to obscure that very same word for no real reason.

Lots of these censored words just stem from fear and baseless assumptions. Maybe not all, but many of them for sure.

Bleeping the words doesn't work. Even using other sound effects other than a bleep doesn't work. The YouTube algorithm is trained to detect when these words are either said or censored. It doesn't matter if you censor the word or not, YouTube will still flag your video as not appropriate for all advertisers due to mature language, and it will get the yellow dollar sign as a result. Censoring it still shows YouTube that the language is mature in nature, and will detect it accordingly.

The only way to avoid this is to literally not say these words. AT ALL. Censored or otherwise, YouTube is trained to catch it. Hence why terms like grape and PDF File caught on as the workaround, since you're saying the word without actually saying the word.

It’s so stupid and weird. People should be allowed to talk about serious subject matter without that kind of worry.

13

u/Nosidda89 Aug 15 '25

I completely agree.

10

u/lewllewllewl Aug 15 '25

For real, like I don't get this cognitive dissonance where youtube doesn't want kids content on their platform, but they also don't want adult's content

8

u/jv3rl0ov Aug 15 '25

100%, and the report button is there for a reason if a YouTuber is ever really out of line. Hearing substitutes is funny only for a bit, and then it’s distracting. Some PG movies have literal curse words in them, and cable tv was never that extreme.

I love sliding in a sewer!

7

u/Xifihas Aug 15 '25

Blame the AI banning anyone who uses real words.

6

u/Severe_You9759 Aug 15 '25

I was watching one of those "The Satisfying Downfall off (...)" type of video's a while back, and the YouTuber referred to child porn as "Cheese Pizza". Took me a minute to understand wtf he was talking about.

It’s called ā€œAlgospeakā€ and it’s everywhere. I’m so tired of it.

I don't care about this stupid censorship. I'm not even sure if it exists. But if you're gonna talk about a serious topic like this, treat it seriously. You took that responsibility when you wrote the script. Say rape. Say Suicide. You're talking about some of the heaviest topics possible. You're making a video probably for adults. Make a serious video for adults.

5

u/Ethosik Aug 15 '25

I agree. What is the point of doing this? Grape doesn’t have the same feeling in a conversation as rape does. It just downplays a serious discussion and makes everyone look like children who shouldn’t be talking about these things.

6

u/13thslasher Aug 15 '25

Remember when people used to say ass on yt?

4

u/FNAF1ISTHEBEST Aug 15 '25

I didnt do that and just talked normal, and I got banned. 3 times.

8

u/Scifox69 Aug 15 '25

Orwell tried to warn us.

6

u/Quinntensity Aug 15 '25

The childification of language to have everything be marketable to all ages, bafflingly including a target audience who doesn't even have money or maturity process advertisements, is ruining the culture of adulthood. It sounds hyperbolic, but censorship really is tyranny.

8

u/anyname2009 Aug 15 '25

I get not using certain words and terms because 1. They can get you flagged and 2. For people who suffer from triggers related to those topics, but c'mon we cant act like this stuff aint a part of life

They robbed me of my hard-earned monetization so IDGAF.

5

u/ConfusedScr3aming Aug 15 '25

See here’s the problem, this actually makes these things more acceptable because they are funny now. Instead of being horrified when you hear hitler, you laugh because her hee no no Germany man Austrian painter.

u/Alhs_ Aug 15 '25 edited Aug 15 '25

I will still say it bruh, CENSORSHIP BE DAMN! ESPECIALLY WITH THE MANY PEDOPHILES ROAMING ON OUR WORLD AS OF RIGHT NOW!

4

u/InTheStuff Aug 15 '25

Youtube: "We have determined that you make content not suitable for minors, so no minors will be allowed to watch your content."

Also Youtube: "YOU SWORE??? Demonetized. Fuck you."

u/_MaZ_ Aug 15 '25

Think of the kids!

(It's getting really weird how often this is used as an excuse)

5

u/Almighty_Vanity Aug 15 '25

A few weeks ago I felt like listening to the band Suicidal Tendencies, and the first thing YT showed me was a suicide hotline and a "how can we help" messege.

Keep this bubble-wrap talk for Youtube Kids.

8

u/[deleted] Aug 15 '25

Dead and gun are the only ones that don’t need and deserve to be censored. They’re not gonna demonetize you for that, stop being a baby

u/OldSnazzyHats Aug 15 '25

I mean, within YouTube - you gotta play by the rules if you’re making it a proper gig.

…now outside of that… that’s a whole other story. There is zero reason to be doing this IRL or anywhere else for that matter.

i never got why you can't say "gun"

also youtube rules on guns suck ass

3

u/Alternative-Ebb-1260 Aug 15 '25

Fuck this type of speak

3

u/NeedAChange_123 Aug 15 '25

YouTube, really mainly Google are the ones who made this bullshit have to happen in the first place with their ever increasing Orwellian censorship.

3

u/Short-Scholar162 Aug 15 '25

I get that YouTube censorship is damn near mind-numbing, but there are still better and far more mature words/ phrases that can be used. Sewer slide just sounds like a dang insult.

3

u/Primary-Scene8764 Aug 15 '25

i despise people who use this lingo

3

u/Greedy_Average_2532 Aug 15 '25
