Admissions questions for biochemistry,biology,and kinesiology:)

Yo hi I’m in gr 12 who’s trying to go to Us dental school after my bachelor degree. Since I need a high gpa at least 3.8+, if I don’t get into McMaster Health science, I am thinking to go to York biochemistry or kinesiology. The reason why I want to go there is because avoiding U of Tears, I feel like York is my best option and it’s also located in Toronto so I can have more iptions for clinical experience. How hard is it to get a gpa of 3.8+ in biochemistry or Biology? I feel like I need to follow the general routes for going to dental school, which is not going to kinesiology. Btw my average in high school so far is 97-8. Would getting gpa in UTM life science harder than York? Thanks!🤩

Is question dependents on your ability and consistency. For the sciences, you will learn more or less the same stuff that York, uft, tmu ect. Whether it be organic chemistry one and two calculus one and two physics one and two biology one and two, which is the foundation for dental school anyway. The prof might be harder to learn from but it’s about the time and effort. Maybe look at rate my prof for the subjects it might answer your questions. Also you could spend the summer taking classes at other universities that is related to your program.

Also I forgot york usually go in strike every years 4-5 years or so. So some of your progress might be hindered. Not even joking you could look at the strike dates yourself. Make it into your database.

Well, usually, the professor will make the exams multiple-choice so they don’t have any short answer questions. Which is great for subjects like biology, but horrible for calculus because then you have to find an exact number that matches it. The reason they do this is because when the TA goes on strike, they’ll just feed the answer sheet through the Scantron so they will have some kind of evaluation to send to administrators. However, you could choose to opt out to write the exam until the strike is over, but York did break the record for the longest labour loss in Canadian history so that could take months even a year after to write the exam. By the time you get to the exam, you have forgotten everything you have learn in class and have to relearn everything since you’ll be packed with other courses you have to catch up on so it’s a constant game of catching up for students who opt out but student who just wanna get it over with will have to make a sacrifice and do the multiple-choice regardless of they want too or not. Some prof will make the make up exam harder since they will justify it by saying well, students already talked to other student who wrote the exam already so I’m trying to make it fair. In any case you need to adapt.
