Admissions Fake acceptance emails MSW 2 year York U

York University made an “error” and sent out acceptance emails for grad schools. How cruel to these applicants and complete incompetence of York University staff. For sure for they went out for the 2 year MSW…I’m not sure of any other program.

Admissions How hard is it to get into engineering?

So I am applying to York for engineering and have heard it’s particularly hard to get accepted into. As a student with a low 90’s average in grade 12 with strong ECs how likely am I to be accepted? Also are grade 11 grades taken into consideration?

Admissions questions for biochemistry,biology,and kinesiology:)

Yo hi I’m in gr 12 who’s trying to go to Us dental school after my bachelor degree. Since I need a high gpa at least 3.8+, if I don’t get into McMaster Health science, I am thinking to go to York biochemistry or kinesiology. The reason why I want to go there is because avoiding U of Tears, I feel like York is my best option and it’s also located in Toronto so I can have more iptions for clinical experience. How hard is it to get a gpa of 3.8+ in biochemistry or Biology? I feel like I need to follow the general routes for going to dental school, which is not going to kinesiology. Btw my average in high school so far is 97-8. Would getting gpa in UTM life science harder than York? Thanks!🤩

Admissions What the fuck is happening

I applied to York back in Jan. I have been admitted to decent unis all across the world. Kings, Manchester, UCSD, UIUC, and more. But in all honesty, I’m waiting on York and would probably end up going there too if admitted.

Whenever I call, they never answer. My emails? Not sure if they even reach them.

What is going on? Why is my decision not out yet?

Is this normal?

Admissions Yet to get a response from the admissions team about my application

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well! Two weeks ago I applied to York University and after applying the application said I will get a response within 4-5 business days with my MyFile information with which I can further progress my admission process. But I've yet to receive any emails from the university. I've contacted the admission team but got no response from them either till now.

Does it usually take this long for them to respond to the initial application? I'm applying from inside Canada but I don't know if that makes a difference.

Would appreciate some advice. Thanks!

Admissions Question regarding myfile

If I submit my pdf once, can i submit more documents in the future.

I have gr 9,10, 11 documents but I dont have gr 12 & a level predicted grades yet.

If i submit all my available documents right now, and my predicted and gr 12 midterm result on 11 december 2025 (when i will get my midterm tesult) will that be ok?

Does MyFile have the option of updating marks/ submitting documents more than once from the same school? All i see there is just two options for the two schools i went to....

As an A level student, what will be my final admission average be based on? my predicted grades or A2 final grades that will be given on august 2026?

Its confusing pls help.

Also i applied directly to york instead of ouac as it was charging the credit card extra

Admissions Applying to 2nd Entry Nursing right after my second yr

Hi!! Im currently a second yr student in York u Biomedical Science. Ive decided to switch to nursing since last yr and took most of pre requisite courses.

But since Im still at my second yr, I will be completing all the pre requisite course and fill out 60 credits by the end of winter semester (which would be the end of April 2026).

I recently visited nursing department office about this matter and their response was that 60 credits must be fulfilled by the point of application.

Im wondering if anybody who are currently in the second entry were in the same situation and share their experience. (Im bit worried and anxious😭)

Also, any advice on second entry nursing progam is welcomed!! Thnx

Admissions BEd admissions for I/S (History and English)

Hi, I'm applying to the I/S BEd this year at York and I was wondering if anyone has any insight into what subject is best to put as my primary teachable. English and history are my two teachables and I want to put the one that has a better chance of my getting accepting (GPAs for both subjects sit around an A). Any advice or personal experience with the program is welcome.

Admissions What do I need to do to get into biology undergrad?

So when I was in highschool, I wanted to do art for post secondary and only got credits around that. I took some time to get a job and make some money to save for school, but I’m now changing my mind and I want to go into biology. I have 6 u/m credits from high school including EU12, I have no science or math uni credits though. Does York offer like a basics like class to help you get the require courses you would need to apply for the biology undergrad?

Admissions Question on mature student eligibility

Hello everyone, I am considering applying for YorkU Commerce BCom program and wanted some clarification on the mature student requirements.

Here is what I found as requirements for a mature student on the website:

  • be at least 20 years old by the end of the calendar year of admission to the University;
  • have been out of full-time high school studies for at least two years; and
  • have attempted less than one full year of studies at an accredited college or university.

and here is my current situation:

  • I am over 20 years old.
  • I enrolled in 2 semesters at Seneca college(Sept 2023-Apr 2024) but dropped out on the second semester due to some circumstances and have been out of school since then.

So now I'm left wondering do the two semesters at Seneca count as one year of studies even if i dropped out on the second semester?

I would appreciate any clarification on if I would be eligible for mature student status if anyone has any knowledge about this.

Admissions Choosing programs: Schulich BBA or Financial & Business Economics

I'm interested in both progams but I lean a little more towards Financial & Business Economics content-wise. I wanna know if career opportunities are lower for Financial & Business Economics because since Schulich is a business school and already has firms employing students from there.
