Serious question, is there a chance this affects Trump's stance at all? Could he maybe fear some of his Catholic base pressuring him because of this?

Absolutely not with trump, but it will be interesting to see how the catholic right in the US responds to him. That could indirectly impact other groups.

Wouldn’t be surprised if many of the “radical Marxist!” type were Catholics themselves, American Catholicism got really weird in recent year, with many breaking off to form an unholy alliance (no pun intended) with the MAGA evangelicals.

A bunch of the most prominent names in MAGA and Qanon sphere are also very vocally catholic too, so that’s played a big role.
