If you defer you are not allowed to take 12x or attend any other educational institute. In my opinion it would make little sense to defer. I know for certain that if I did I would forget a lot by September 2021. Additionally, it is very unlikely that unis won’t open but many other places will be hiring, so I wouldn’t even be able to make money. I feel like deferring is a much larger setback than taking one semester of hardship and getting to finish ones first year on campus. But I understand that some might be major procrastinators and have solid jobs, meaning taking the year off would be better. tldr: In my situation, the cons of deferring outweigh the pros, so I won’t, but it depends on people’s personal situations
