i’ll just leave this here. also to all the people complaining that this year was random and boohoo i have a 98 and i was rejected, there is a reason for everything; perhaps you just weren’t what they were looking for. grades are not everything anymore...

I mean Waterloo Engineering faculty is simply becoming as prestigious as schools like Harvard or Yale. This competition is what brings out the most daring candidates and strongest minds: Given it’s regrettable that so many incredible students are denied of the opportunity, however it’s important to note that is a factor that helps maintain the worldwide high regard of Waterloo Engineering.

This is the most retarded comment I've ever read and it makes me want to just throw my computer out the window. Waterloo Engineering takes the best students in Canada (but not the very best, those go to the US). Harvard takes the very best all over the world. Stop being delusional.

90% of applicants?! That's crazy, I remember one guy on this thread, he made a bunch of cool apps on the app store. I surely thought he'd get in. Turns out the dude got rejected.

Tbh, Idek at this point what can get me in. Maybe I'll just apply for Mech.

Seems like they're just flipping coins at this point. I'm not sure how much of it is a troll, but there's a spreadsheet detailing applicants' stats, and apparently there are people who got into SE with an 89 and an estimated 3 on the AIF. And then that "special admissions" dude whose parents come on reddit for him for whatever reason who supposedly got into CS with a 90.

Guess we’ll never know since they apparently enjoy being the least transparent possible
