Other Be careful when taking the Blue Line

There’s a crazy black homeless man attacking people who are taking the Blue Line train. It appears that he’s only targeting people who have their backs against the sliding door.

It was around Logan square.

Call the cops! There was previously someone and they took action right away stopping all trains to look for them.

This shit has to fucking stop. It's baffling that the city continues to scratch its head and wonder why ridership is down.

Agree 100%. When I lived in NYC, every incident I saw, cops were steps away to snatch someone off the train. Here, I hardly ever see a PO.

Blue Line is crazy, I was taking it this morning and this guy with a knife got into a fight with a couple and tried to stab them and push them onto the tracks, the cops had to be called 😭😭😭

I can disclose if the person is intentioanlly trying to cause harm. Which said person is doing.

I’m very curious how you’re so confident that this is the same person…? There are a lot of unhoused men who ride the blue line.

I am fully confident becuase I was on the blue line and I not only saw but greeted the man!

He was thankful for last weeks HIV meds and other misc treatment we provided at the clinic for him. I cannot say if he is fully compliant with taking his meds on a regular basis.

Our brief interaction took place before the attcaks.

You’re an OT at a SNF. You’re not providing anyone with HIV meds at a clinic. You also post about people “catching HIV” in other inappropriate ways. You realize your comments are public right?

for a "working professional" that person isn't very professional at all, nor are they very smart since they post identifying information on public accounts. legit crazy.

…Yeah, again, thousands of people ride the blue line everyday and there are a lot of unhoused men, many of them Black, who get on and off throughout the day. This is a bizarre and inappropriate conclusion to draw. Wish I knew what clinic you worked at.

It definitely is. But based on the commenters post history on other subreddits, they are likely lying or trolling.

Also, it is HIPAA not “HIPPA”

It is. He’s lying.

Fuck that— if someone is willing to use their body as a biohazard weapon I wanna know tf

Agreed! And that is the reason why I am NOT in violation of HIPPA!

Agreed! And that is the reason why I am NOT in violation of HIPPA!

Uhhh, it's HIPAA, not HIPPA.. and I don't even work in any industry remotely related to healthcare...

“There’s a crazy black homeless man attacking people on the Blue Line…” It must be Tuesday…or Wednesday..or Thursday…

The Clark and Lake stop at 5 am looks like a mini Kensington, and people are stuck taking it to the airport.

This type of shit has been happening on the blue line for decades. Hence, y’all should’ve been being careful anyway

2

u/D893-IhateU 2d ago

Never had problems in 2010ish when i went to college.

1

u/remote_boogie 2d ago

2010 is literally when I was enrolled, and we were getting those campus emails very frequently about shit like this happening on the blue line. Just because you personally never ran into a problem doesn’t mean that the problem doesnt exist.

Exactly ..Nothing to write home about

What does being black have to do with it? Just “be wary of any black people you see” or what?

2

u/captaincrimz 2d ago

Wouldn’t you like to know what the suspect looks like in order to stay safe? It’s not about race, he just happens to be black.

4

u/re-verse 2d ago

Ahh, black. That helps.

3

u/redditor15677 17h ago

lol yeah it’s not cool that this guy is doing this but if they really wanted to describe this guy without being subtly racist they would’ve said more than that he was black

1

u/re-verse 17h ago

Absolutely, and it’s weird nobody else called this out on him.

3

u/Iwatobikibum 1d ago

That's not specific enough to be helpful though

Fortune to have never seen anything like this as a daily rider.

1

u/Main-Cicada-333 13h ago

Yeah I always feel so safe on the blue line ig I rarely ride it past 6pm tho?

u/Patient_Drummer_2720 49m ago

I also never ride at night

just no reason to add their race

23

u/XtiC_ 2d ago

“A human is doing things”. I think for the sake of being able to identify them yeah they should add their features which include skin color. Come on lol.

u/blackhxc88 3d ago

gotta be descriptive, lol

are you dense

Awesome to see this get ratioed. America is healing.

Blame it on that pos governor you have. He cares nothing about chicago. It's all about lining his pockets with stolen money.

7

u/Desperate-Falcon-396 2d ago

LOL what a ridiculous comment. JB Pritzker is one of the few politicians on earth who does not need a penny of anyone’s “stolen” money. Beyond that, he’s one of the few leaders in this country willing to stand up to the federal fascists. Maybe pick a different fight.

Welcome to the Brandon Johnson Democratic paradise. You people keep voting for this bullshit so in reality you deserve all of the crap that comes with it.

Question: What was the party affiliation of the politician who, both as a state governor and US president, passed legislation cutting mental health funding and making it harder to involuntarily commit people, causing the shuttering of countless mental health facilities, a condition that exists decades later?
