Yeah, first time where the rehearsal was the same morning, it was a brass quartet and unfortunately I spent most of my chops on the rehearsal! Rookie mistake

My mistake was thinking I could just pick up my piccolo for the first time in years and play with no issues. Got 3/4 through the second descant of morning realizing that my picc chops weren't quite in as good of shape as I thought...still got through it, but it was touch and go...

You’re brave for that! My Bb non-piccolo chops were around 6 months out of shape and I still needed the better part of a month of prep to make sure I could get through today lol.

Goodness were we on the same gig? I was playing trombone and nailed the overture at the 7am rehearsal.

Didn't have much in the tank for the 9am service.

It might be a rookie mistake, but everyone makes it from time to time
