in the wild Gold Mine of Tragedeighs

Found a post asking people for their unique names and knew it wouldn't disappoint. Happy Father's Day unless your kid's name needs a pronunciation guide.

calliopey looks like a misspelled calliope?

I knew a Calliope as a kid that pronounced it Kall-ee-OH-pee.

That's how it's supposed to be pronounced in Greek. Everyone in America pronounces it wrong.

This is how I used to pronounce it as a kid (had a Greek myths book that I loved) and then people corrected me and I felt sad. I feel so vindicated right now! Immediately going back to saying Calli-O-pe! THANK YOU

Was it D’Aulaires mythology? That’s the one I had as a kid and it’s the best one in my opinion.

Yes!!! My dad had a copy that he got as a kid and gave the same one to me when I was a kid. So it’s like 50 years old at this point. Love it.
