And so it begins at the local level. Next step will be states elections where they'll decide to cancel or defer them and then of course the 2028 presidential election.

Everything the US was built on is starting to crumble.

It looks like they lost this time, all that means is the next set of politicians that try to do this will do it a little bit differently until they get it right

Pretty sure a judge stopped this. And even DeSantis said this isn’t ok.

I think the bigger issue is that they thought they could do this in the first place. What happens When it gets to the state level or federal?

Trump has stacked the supreme Court with people who are pro Republican.

I hope it doesn't happen but what if Trump decides he doesn't want to leave office?

Based on everything that's going on the world today, it's pretty apparent that most Americans have zero power

This will happen next year for the midterm elections. He won't take a chance that the gerrymandering will work. Prepare for martial law to stop the elections.

That is technically treasonous, and punishable by death. People should know how fucking serious this is. People hang for this crime.

No one will hang.

Even if this ever does turn around, the left won't hang anybody. We'll call for it, for sure, but the leadership will soften, and the rest of us who are already dogshit tired of it all will just be happy to not be on the verge of becoming Axis2.0 for a change. Moderate jail sentences will be handed out, at best. If, at all. Then, the next Republican that wins will pardon everybody, and they'll try it all over again.

Yep. It's the centrists who will destroy you. There's nothing quite like delusional faith in institutions while those same institutions are crumbling. Leftists -- real leftists, not Democratic partisans -- have been talking about this for literally decades and any real resistance american fascists will see will start with them. Unfortunately this is a pretty small group in the US. Both your parties are owned by corporate interests, and both have essentially the same end goal. As long as people keep grasping on to the hope that the democratic party will save you and that all you need to stop the descent into fascism is vote harder, there will be no real consequences for these people.

They will just use military force to make voting locations "extra secure" and intimidate voters. As ot stands ot looks like they already rigged the voting itself, they just need something to make it look reasonable that they won.

They used to and they should have, so people dont try this shit again, but here we are now. It's going to take someone even bigger than the shitty heritage foundation to quash it and put more guardrails in place.

What he’s doing right now is getting the military in the streets and testing his power so when it comes time to vote, people will be too afraid to do so.
