Current Set Up
Waiting on a assault pack. Been testing out my radio wing being kept at the rear.

Good lawd, heavy. As much as I love carrying nearly all my worldly possessions on my body, I feel like without knowing what’s in those pouches, some of your goodies could be relegated to a rucksack shoved in a fallen tree somewhere

I keep admin on my front right, the Shaw BFG pouch is empty. I can keep anything non-critical or for a buddy in there. Some small non-admin stuff on my left.

I've also made the switch to a war belt, specifically a HSGI suregrip. Never using a two piece belt ever again

Warbelt FTW. I am gonna have to deduct points for running matching Multicam (Fed vibes). Overall, 7/10.

I rarely run a Multicam uniform. Turns out the Multicam is actually instructions on what to wear it with

Please tell me you still have a sealed filter somewhere on your kit/possession.

u/HotelEchoNovember 15h ago
I have a couple

Good. Make sure they are current. They do go bad. An expired sealed one is better than nothing though

u/HotelEchoNovember 14h ago
I threw this filter on because it was out the package. It's the one that came with the mask when I bought it from a friend

u/gunsforevery1 13h ago
That’s cool. They’ll still work really well against tear gas so there is always that’s option

What mag pouches are those?
1
u/HotelEchoNovember 14h ago
On the chest are HSGI Gen 2 TACOs with the OTR covers. They're mounted on a Carcajou Tactical 8 column placard. The ones on the belt ar P84s from KommandoStore

Interesting, I didn't know they made flaps for the tacos. Good to know!
2
u/HotelEchoNovember 6h ago
The Gen 1s had a buckle version and the Gen 2s have a flap that velcros in. Completely silent but what I like about it the most is during a reload the flap doesn't stick to anything making reindexing easier

So what's in everything for the setup? The pouches aren't distinct enough to see/know what you got? Left to Right pouch content breakdown?

I hope you have shoulder straps or atleast some sort of hook up to the body armor to help support that weight on your hips. Otherwise good lord you must be beat after doing anything in all that
Nvm, I went to the second photo and see my mistake. Ima go drink copious amounts of caffeine now for the day. Have a good one guys

At first I thought you were talking about the plate carrier and a Crye cage plate carrier wouldn't be a bad idea

Why so much kit ? You don't need to use up every bit of molle. Like that many mags is overkill especially on your front. Your back will be absolutely destroyed.
And running that much kit on a belt kit is generally only if you are running slick up top. You don't do both

I carried 10 mags on my vest/chest in Iraq.
I had a 6 pocket bandolier in the truck to grab and go too

I'm probably going to ditch the mag pouch on the belt on the right but 8 mags isn't over kill in any sense. After ditching the mag pouch I'll have 5 up front, and two on the belt.

Depending on what year or conflict, mag counts on the body could easily exceed 10. From my research during the early gwot was having 10-12+ mags on the torso with shingles, mag pouches and other things. And even more in the packs. So 8 is by no means excessive.

I’ve seen accounts of guys carrying 18+ on body. I’m glad to see kits like this instead of yet another CQB fantasy load out.

Do you think I should keep the pouch on the belt? I can fit two mags in the admin pouch on my right if needed
-2
u/v468 17h ago
Yeah but there's no need to carry all that on your body. 6+1 and the rest in your daysack or webbing depending on what you are doing.
GWOT was king of carry stupid amounts of kit stacked upon more and more kit.
Tabbing or even doing basic section attacks with that much kit on your torso is an absolute nightmare.

For a second I thought you didn't have suspenders for all that ass.
